    Hmm, £4 a corner is great value. I am currently awaiting a reply from the Lexus dealer I bought from as the rear wheels are the wrong way round (they changed the rear tyres as part of the prep) and I believe the tyres are directional so it's not a simple case of swapping the wheels round. If my local Lexus dealer will do the pair for £8 I won't hang about for a reply!

    Hope I haven't bought at the peak (July this year) ;) Generally everyone expects depreciation on a car but I did buy a Corrado VR6, ran it for nearly three years then sold it for a little more than I paid for it so if it starts being regarded as a 'classic and rare' car then firming of values or even appreciation may well happen. The rare requirement is already fulfilled.

    Agreed Dave. Most people buying this type of car would rather spend a few £k more for reassurance as repair bills can be high.

    Oh and by the way in an auto in gear times are not that important. I despatched a 335d with ease one night earlier this week pulling onto a deserted motorway.

    Stu, hope to be in the same situation as you in the medium term. Mrs has just started learning to drive and for me the only option is a 997 gen 2 911 or a 991 911. My heart is telling me to get a 993 though :)

    If the service history is at Lexus surely it can be confirmed? Must admit, although mine has exclusively been looked after by Lexus, I have no evidence other other than the stamps in the book - I have not been given the invoices with the car.

    Hi Sully, I'm NW based and I'm sure there are another two or three members in Cheshire and surrounding areas as well as a few others a littke further afield - Cumbria is one example. Sounds like a good idea if there are a few owners interested.

    Very strange. Exactly the same here. Affected last week and no longer so this morning.

    Sully, I was also told there was an issue with regards driveshaft etc but there seems to be an owner in the US who has successfully swapped the base/bench from a standard IS assuming they are the same in both the IS250 and IS350.     Affects me too. I will wait for the dealers to receive detailed info before contacting them.

    Regarding warranties be aware though there are two different levels and neither are the same as the warranty with a new car. Check the small print, e.g. One covers the multimedia system but the other doesn't. Wheels are excluded on both I believe.

    Looks very clean :) love the colour too, is that Blackberry? Blackberry and Twilight Violet (I think that was the name anyway) were my favourites. I also had a '94 VR6 in Sherry Pearl.EDIT: how could I forget dusty mauve as well!

    Mines' garaged, stays cleaner for a little bit longer! TigerFish, which Corrado do you have? You may have guessed from my forum name I used to own one. One of my favourite cars of all time!

    Agreed, I love the rarity factor and the way it's so docile at low revs in auto mode yet transforms into a beast in M mode above 3600ish rpm. By the way, I recommend Werkstat's acrylic sealant range if you want to achieve a glossy/wet black finish. I don't have time for 'detailing' as such, but it makes the weekly wash easier in the long run with the right protective wax or sealant.
