    Thanks Mitch, For me it's about the mpg too, car is powerful enough for myself also I want to keep the car well maintained and problem free as my daily commute is a mixture of 60 miles motorway and a lot of town driving.     It's a feature which I believe only the dealer can deactivate. It's a optional feature which is programmed at the request of the owner, as standard Lexus don't program this feature I believe due to accidental opening. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC

    By the way the global opening feature on my old car was activated by holding the unlock button on my key for more than 2-3 seconds, it also unlocks the car but unless you open one of the doors, it would automatically lock up after about 30 seconds but not the windows! I had other keys in my pocket along with the fob which caused the unlock button to be presses in my pocket. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC

    Does your car have the global window opening feature from your key? My 2010 Is220d doesn't but my previous car did and a while back I locked my car and put the key in my pocket only to accidentally activate the global opening feature which opened all my windows over night.     Fresh Diesel oil takes some time to go black, what you have is clean oil and it will turn darker the more you drive. Some vehicles go dark after about 2 weeks of driving other May take longer. It's always been the same with all my diesel cars too, stays clear couple of weeks then starts to go dark. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC

    How is your engine running now compared to 2 weeks ago? Why do you feel you need another session? The reason I'm asking is if other members like myself who decide to go for this treatment we can at least understand that it may need a longer session then 30 minutes based on your findings and also will be interesting to know how long the cleaning effects are likely to last as long as the vehicle has been maintained properly.     Hi Normski, Is that the case with all Is220d's including the ones built late 2010? I have a late 2010 220d and so far all seems to be fine, car drives faultless when I purchased it it was fully maintained by Lexus stoke, full service history. It has done 115k so far so out of goodwill warranty, I have driven by 1.5k miles both town and motorway, all oil levels and coolant levels the same as the day I bought it.     I would ring Lexus uk customer services just to confirm that goodwill warranty mileage limit, from what I read it's supposed to be 110k. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC

    I would get a HG test done just to be on the safe side, you probably can buy the kit and check yourself. Keep an eye on your coolant level, make sure it don't drop below the low marker line, it should be just above it when engine cold. Let us know how you get on buddy Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC

    I hope you get it sorted via goodwill. Just wanted to know if anyone knew what is the likely cost of replacing a head gasket if your not covered by the warranty? Can it be done or do you need to get a whole new engine? Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC

    Hi, Very worrying as I thought the HG problems were on the engines up to 2009 models, the engines after early 2009 had modified engines which sorted the HG problems, I could be wrong? Also wasn't the extended warranty on engines that were built up to feb 2009? Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC

    Hello everyone, Just joined the club and a proud owner of a late 2010 year Lexus Is220d. I've had the car for 3 weeks now and all has been well so far. Just wanted to introduce myself and to say how informative this club is and by reading the posts I can see it has a lot of very knowledgable members. Great forum too!
