  1. It's the same with the GS F sport as well. In Europe and the US you can have LED headlights, HUD , night vision etc. But on the UK version you can't. If the options were available on the NX F sport then I would have gone with that. Does anyone know which bright spark made the decision on the marketing for the NX for the UK?!!
  2. Hi Lee , sorry for the tardiness. The NX is still in the bodyshop ( absolute bloody nightmare). Will be done next Tuesday hopefully. Re the Premiere. The extra kit is DEFINITELY not worth it. Only addition worth of note is the HUD and Panoramic view camera. Also you don't get paddle shifters or AVS. The panoramic camera works brilliantly, unlike the BMW version. I'm with you on the chimes and beeping. Sometimes very confusing, but the camera works beautifully on the NX. I think the Premier trim works better on the RX and GS. Would I buy the Premier again ? No I wouldn't. I should have waited for the RX. Are you thinking of swapping? I'm waiting for the RX pricing then making a decision.
  3. My two pence worth. I actually was a FX37 owner for nearly three years and traded it in for a NX. Positives: 1) Very quick for such a big car. 2) all the toys included. Heated/vent seats. Panoramic camera, lane departure etc. 3) The attention the car got ( good and bad!) Negatives 1) The interior was terrible. The new CT will put it to shame, and I really mean that. Plastic rubbish everywhere. 2) Servicing costs are astronomical as well as road tax. Replaced the tyres (21 Dunlops ) at a cost of £1400. Apparently at that time these particular tyres were the only option. 4) No extended warranty. This is a big let down as its a massively complicated car. 3) Very cumbersome at low speeds. I also had a Q50 hybrid for a 36 hour extended test drive and most of the toys from the FX were present in the Q50. The powertrain is good. The steering is awful imo. The dual screen interface is very buggy and suffered from really bad lag aka 2008 smartphones. The IS300h/GS300h is a superior choice.
  4. I've been noticing that on flat roads , I can drive up to speeds of 30-32mph on pure EV mode for lengthy periods with a steady throttle response. My average mpg has shot up to 42.8. Also , I filled up the tank to the brim last Monday ( BP Ultimate) and the car felt VERY heavy on acceleration/braking. The average mpg on emptying the tank was 37.8. Filled up the tank around halfway yesterday and acceleration and braking feel normal and ave of 42.8. Same route . Make of that what you will!
  5. Will give them a ring today and see what the say . Thanks
  6. Since my NX has been deemed roadworthy by Admiral I am not entitled to a courtesy car. I am still using it daily. Its insured for SDP only since I work from home . I think this is the reason they are taking their sweet time. There is no money to be made! The Lexus dealer ( Leeds) has agreed to provide me with a Lexus GS as a courtesy car. I've told Admiral I won't be using their ripoff accident management hire car company. Its the company ( Benfield group) bodyshop that are delaying . Fed up with it.
  7. Lee , if they would have said at the beginning, " We are really busy, and Lexus cars are a bloody pain to fix due to all the safety systems" , I would be a little more compliant. Give it a few weeks to repair. It's the blatant lying that annoys me.
  8. Just an update. It's been Three weeks since I had my little bump and my car still hasn't been repaired. The bodyshop ( Lexus approved ) have been messing me around for the last Three weeks with excuses and blatant lies. Eg; can't get the part number, really busy etc. On one occasion I rang the bodyshop twice in the space of two hours . First time was at 12pm followed by 2pm on the same day. On both occasions I was told that the relevant person was on her lunchbreak! Well I was really annoyed . Sent an email to Richard Balshaw ( Lexus GB principal) with a follow up phone call on Monday to explain the situation and how utterly p***** off I was! Well the apologies and general back side kissing since the complaint was forwarded has been constant. Why is it that companies wait for a strongly worded complaint before acting? 😡 On the whole the dealership have been great. Their approved bodyshop have been atrocious.
  9. Tailgating idiot. Seem to be quite a lot these days especially on the motorways and everywhere else as well!
  10. Thanks Lee. Still waiting for the parts. They are having to liaise with Lexus GB regarding the serial numbers for some of the parts as its not on any database, well thats what I've been told anyway. Had a good long chat with the engineer at Benfield Leeds repair centre. He says the major cost is the labour ( obvious I know) of refitting the safety systems that are integrated into the rear bumper, such as the rear cross traffic alert system. Other than that it's a straight swap of the entire rear bumper so it's highly unlikely that the insurance company will write it off as a cat D.
  11. I've got a terrible feeling something is going to go wrong here! Benfield have said they don't have a Lexus courtesy car available for when my car goes in. So Admiral/ Albany will HAVE to provide a rip off Hire car/ courtesy car. The parts situation is even worse. They don't have a fixed date of when certain parts will be available! The car could be in the repair shop for a few days or a few weeks. A nightmare situation.
  12. Put the car in reverse ( make sure the L and R window switch is set to either left or right) then adjust the dip for left and right mirrors accordingly .Once you are happy with the position move gear lever to P. Now when you select reverse the mirrors should dip to your previous setting , as long as the mirror switch is set to L or R .
  13. Ha! I tried to put it on my Amex so I could get a fat load of Emirates miles. Max was £5000 plus a 3% surcharge. Boo
  14. Excellent info. Will have to give the Leeds guys a ring in Autumn and let them crunch the numbers. I'm guessing £50-£55000 for the F sport fully loaded and £59000 for the Premier model.
  15. Did they mention when it would go on sale in the UK. Taking the NX as an example I would guess Oct/Nov. Also would the UK get the RX which is built in Japan or the one made in Canada?
  16. I really like it, especially in the Blue colour. Definitely will be upgrading from the NX next March. 300 bhp for the hybrid sounds great . Bring on March 16!
  17. Will do😛. Received phone call from Admiral today stating the 3rd party has accepted full responsibility and my no claims will not be affected and the excess has been waived. Car booked in at Benfield tomorrow for estimated costs . Hopefully will be smooth going from now! Just waiting now for the RX unveiling in New York😍
  18. Thanks for the feedback. As this is my first claim since I started driving these are my concerns: Contacted Admiral regarding accident. Admiral then passed my details to Albany, who then contacted me re hire car. Now I haven't signed anything with Albany . I informed Admiral claims that I will be having my car repaired by a Lexus approved garage ( Benfield Guisely). They have come back to me stating "we will agree costs with the relevant company ". Now what? What if they dont agree? I really don't want to sign any credit hire forms with Albany.
  19. The major damage is to the left side. The plastic wheel arch has bent and dislodged. Also the metal wrapround below the tail lights has dropped half an inch below the left tail light. Park sensors are all knackered. Admiral uses Albany for their courtesy/ temp hire cars. Googled them and the reviews aren't very good. I'm going to let The Benfield group sort out the repairs and courtesy car. Don't want to get involved in this credit hire nonsense!
  20. Hoping that everything will be fine!!! If not I'm going to lose the plot. I'm fine , no injuries to me . Don't know about the other bloke. He was walking and talking fine ....... Unless he remembers that he suffered whiplash/ I reversed into him etc.
  21. Luckily he was insured.... Just not paying attention! Accident happened in Wakefield. Spoke to Lexus Leeds and their repair centre is in Guisely ( Benfield group) . The guy at Guisely just sighed and said it's going to cost a small fortune. First thing I did after the bump was speak to Admiral and get the guys insurance details. He was 20 years old and had one of those blackbox things in his car. His renewal is going to astronomical.
  22. As mentioned on another thread, I had a problem with the passenger side mirror. The mirror element started "flapping" on the second day after handover. Fault was reported to the dealership and a replacement mirror was ordered. Well I collected the car today after the repair and I couldn't be more pleased with the outstanding service I received. From diagnosing the fault through to completing the repair , the process has been painless. The car was fully valeted and polished, and I also received a GS300h F sport ( brilliant !) as a courtesy car. Fabulous
