  1. The wife and I have been doing this for years. We have got 2 cars, IS200SE and she drives her Escort cossie. Both log books are in my name, the insurance on both cars is in my name as her as the named driver on both cars. Never had any probs. :D She's under my insurance on the cossie cos the insurance companys don't seem to like young women with mad cars, funny that. :P :P We do swap cars a couple of times a week, just for the sake of it.
  2. Wife has Cliffords "Intelistart" upgrade on her escort cossie. Best thing ever :D :D :D But its not cheap and she added it to a much bigger system. Set the A/C in winter to war up the car and defrost it while everybody else scrapes the ice from there cars. Sets it in summer to chill the car before she gets in. It wont start if you leave it in gear, little laser grid running across the base of the gear stick shaft and wont start if bonnet up. :) Engine will stop after 20mins. Engine will start itself if outside temp gets to low and if battery power level gets low. Havn't tried the temp or power thing yet, it hasn't got that cold and i never let her battery get power get low. Engine stops and alarm has a fit if try to move the car without the correct fob and key. If you rev the car over 2000rpm (without the correct keys) engine stops and alarm goes mad, put the car in gear, push the brake or generally breath to much and the alarm system will just go in to one. :P :P :P :D And its great for freaking people out in Tesco's carparks. :D :D Start the car up, drop the windows and turn the headlights on. Works every time. :D :D
  3. Just told the wife about this event and it seems that were going. See you there......... :D :D :D
  4. Me and the wife are going, but were taking her car, Escort Cosworth as its alittle bit mental, well its alot mental as she's turned the **** off it... :D :D :D
  5. ME and the wife are going Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
  6. Try ELITES in Rainham, on the old A13, just up the road from FORDS. They just replaced the suspension on the wifes car. Shes had her car lowered and uprated(shes a girl racer, so she says) they did a good job and have all the toys.
  7. Hi John, Its been a while so count me in......... :D
  8. I spent a little over 9 years working in the city doing from 10 to 18 hour days 5 to 6 days a week. ;) ;) But no more, I also spent a while buying property and renting it out on the side. That turned out to be more trouble than its worth. At the start of this year I sold everything and bought 1 house outright. Changed to a local job, something that dos'nt have me on call 24/7, and for the moment, I'm taking it easy. :D :D Good on ya chris. Take it easy for a while, its not worth it...
  9. The wife and I looked at a new Audi A4 before finding the LEXUS. After being told that a "spare wheel" was an extra (they have some c*** pump thing) we said thanks for your time, and walked away. ;) A spare wheel as an extra, I don't think so!!! :P :P
  10. Count me in. Bluewater is only 1/2 hr up the road for me.
  11. Many thanks to brettster for the link. Just for infomation simon, i paid £178.49 for the fronts and £73.15 for the back + VAT - Gold discount of 15%. Saved £50 Will have a go at fitting them A.S.A.P Again, thanks :D :D :D :D
  12. Just been to collect plates ( very nice ) and parts man said they can be fitted in 1hr, service desk says 3+ hrs. Don't mind paying 1hr labour but 3hrs+ is a little bit much. How long does it take and can anybody suggest in the Essex area who's good enough to do it? Or can anybody suggest how to do it myself. Hope you can help...
  13. A big thanks to john for sunday. First time i've been to a meet being the new boy. Loved all the cars, just goes to show what can be done. Will try to get some screens put in before Gaydon (its a long way for me). Again, many thanks to john See you soon. :D :D :D :D :D :D
