  1. Well, Not sure what is going to happen with my car yet whether or not it'll be written off, but to be on the safe side, and to keep the "continuity up", so's to speak, I've covered my options.... Sent from my EML-L29 using Tapatalk
  2. .....and seeing as he had a newish Volvo estate all he needs done to his is a t-cut and the number plate sticking back on. Sent from my EML-L29 using Tapatalk
  3. Yes it's still wafting along like nothing happened. If they do write it off I'm going to buy the car back, buy a couple of doors and put them on myself. I've seen a couple of blue ones on eBay for £85 each plus £15 each for delivery, so a little bit of tlc on the rear wheel arch and I reckon it'll be good to go. Sent from my EML-L29 using Tapatalk
  4. It's all in hand with my insurers and solicitors already so watch this space. Sent from my EML-L29 using Tapatalk
  5. Nightmare, 3rd party pulled straight out of a carpark on the opposite side of the road and straight into my side. He said his passenger said it was clear. Straight up the hospital as my wife had pains in her neck and she has a tear in her muscle in her neck. She's already in a cast on her left leg having had an operation a few weeks ago so she's going through the mill at the moment. Getting a courtesy car tomorrow and will have to see what the repair shop says when it goes in. Dreading the obvious "economically irreparable" result. Groan!! Sent from my EML-L29 using Tapatalk

  7. Read somewhere that the later 430's don't get the warning light and there may be an issue fitting l.e.d's but if you fit one and they work let us know. [emoji106] Sent from my EML-L29 using Tapatalk
  8. I don't know if this may have been addressed before but as it happened to me, here's my penny worth... As the title says above I had the warning light pop up with the warning triangle as soon as I touched the brake pedal. The culprit turned out to be the high level brake light in the rear window, easy to forget, easy to replace. Tap the cowling on the right hand side to release the lugs. Separate the bulb holder from the cowling. Pop in a new bulb (which is the same as the other brake light bulbs). Halfords 580 bulb. Re insert into the holder. Slide the cowling back into place Tap on the left side to secure - done - 2 minutes tops! Hope this helps. Sent from my EML-L29 using Tapatalk
  9. After driving the Jeep for a year I have switched back to the LS and am going to stay with it! The Jeep looked good with some mods added to it, was 7 years newer and only had 66000 miles on the clock but - SERIOUSLY!! I have spent over £3000 on various repairs in one year and it's still in the garage. In fact I've spent more in repairs than what I paid for the LS in the first place. Very, very glad I never sold her and still love driving it. After letting the m.o.t expire last year I stuck some wiper blades on her as the others had perished, put it in for the m.o.t and it passed again with no advisories! I thought about upgrading to a newer year model but it's served me so well I'm just going to give her a bit of tlc and stick with it. I'm going to see if I can get the audio system repaired and the odd situation with the keys sorted as well. Sent from my EML-L29 using Tapatalk
  10. Watched "wheeler dealers" episode when they had an ls 400 and apparently it's a common thing with this display. Ed China sourced an upgraded replacement part which doesn't fade. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6jlhfs&ved=2ahUKEwi_hvHzrvXjAhXySRUIHT-aBNUQwqsBMAB6BAgDEAU&usg=AOvVaw1Snxs1UpBkmO3E1xiGWBOf&cshid=1565339341830 Sent from my EML-L29 using Tapatalk
  11. Doesn't seem to matter what car the Mark Levinson system is in - They go wrong! CD, Cassette, and radio packed up on my 430. Plays one minute then goes off for weeks! Eventually nothing. Plenty of chat on here about them and nothing simple to understand or fix unless you're well up on electrics. For such an expensive system they sure seem to be a pain in the *****. 12. Weird !! I've now got the 2 button fob opening and closing the doors and a long press on the lock button closes the windows and moon roof. The main fob with 3 buttons won't do anything but is now being detected on the ignition switch ??? Excuse the photo my phone camera is cracked Sent from my EML-L29 using Tapatalk
  13. Yes I've tried 2 fobs. I'll see if there's anything on the internet. Sent from my EML-L29 using Tapatalk
  14. There is a button below the dash but it seems to make no difference whether it's pushed in or out Sent from my EML-L29 using Tapatalk
  15. Tried at a few locations without any difference. Sent from my EML-L29 using Tapatalk
  16. Have tried disconnecting the battery, in fact it has an isolator beside the battery and the car had been sat for quite a while as I'd been using another vehicle. Is there some sort of reset sequence? Sent from my EML-L29 using Tapatalk
  17. I can open the door with the metal key and insert the key into the ignition switch which will start the car no problems. Batteries in both keys are new so not a problem there. Did manage to close the windows and the moon roof with a fob after a while but only just after continually pressing the switch, however unable to lock or open any lock or alarm the car. 18. Disc out - disc in - SOLVED! Thank you so much for the help. I think it may have been because I put a heavier part of my wife's mobility scooter on that side in the boot. Cheers again...now onto another question lol. Sent from my EML-L29 using Tapatalk
  19. Thanks for the input but no joy. Home now by virtue of my phone's directions. Think I'll try disconnecting the battery for a while and see if it makes any difference. Sent from my EML-L29 using Tapatalk
  20. ...just that! Current position is randomly now nowhere near where I am. I have a 5 hour journey back home. Any help would be great, thanks. Sent from my EML-L29 using Tapatalk
  21. £1300? My 2000 ls430 has a couple of faults. The radio/cd/cassette player doesn't work which means it wafts along in total silence and the rake on the steering doesn't work but the reach does but I manually set the rake for my needs. Admittedly the headlights need a polish which I have done myself in the past so no biggy. It has a mark on the rear bumper and the nearside front. It has done 140,000 miles (so it's run in now), cambelt done, never failed an m.o.t, comprehensive service history, and a detachable tow bar. The m.o.t ran out last year as I now am using another car more suited to towing my caravan and my wife finds it easier to get in and out of the jeep as she's disabled, in five and a half years of ownership I have replaced a couple of tyres, a battery and an offside front wheel bearing. I turn the key every month or so and it fires up first time. What pi55es me off is I put it on eBay a couple of times ages ago and was made an offer of £500! I'd rather keep it on my drive and get the pleasure of seeing it every day even if I'm not using it. The jeep is ok and I quite like it but it's like comparing a limousine to a tractor. Sent from my EML-L29 using Tapatalk
  22. Yep, that's what happens when you take the roof off... The wheels collapse lol Sent from my EML-L29 using Tapatalk
  23. Perhaps this would help with the difference in potential mpg Sent from my EML-L29 using Tapatalk
  24. I suppose if you plan to keep the car for many many years then it makes sense to convert to lpg but with the average of a few years ownership it's probably uneconomical to do so unless your annual mileage is huge. Converting are not cheap and you would need to work out how long it would take to make savings. Another way would be to find another LS that has already been converted with a similar value to your own car, there are cars out there. You could have a donut tank installed in the wheel well which wouldn't impede the space in the boot but of course then you'd need to consider the possibility of punctures. There are products that can inflate a tyre enabling you to get to a garage for a repair. So, it's all about the maths. Sent from my EML-L29 using Tapatalk
  25. .....you don't use the 430 as a daily driver??? You're just missing out all round. Sell the frogmobile and use the cash for fuel for the lexus. Don't bother with l.p.g you'll never recoup the money, just enjoy the superior drive.
