  3. So got a switch of Ebay, looking at the wires there doesnt seem to be one that connects. there is one that fits on the key side but none the switch side. anyone any photos of inside the boot cover so i can trace the wires.
  4. Goes to show what a strong car they are that 'post crash' you were able to stand there taking photos.Glad your ok at the end of the day the car done its job and protected the driver. As for the Trees you may go out and plant a few to offset the ones the good old Lexus demolished.. Buy her back of the ins now cheap strip her and sell all the good parts on here Ill get a list lol. But all joking aside glad your ok.
  5. I think you could be right, wonder if its just a matter of plug and play with a button.I think i seen SE somewhere on the paper work but to be honest I havent a clue what model it is, as you suspected its a IRL spec car.
  6. yea there isnt a button just a blank plate but you can see its the shape of where a button should go.just wondering if i fit one will it work as im sure there is a plug in the boot loom.
  7. yea I have but like the idea of a manual switch on the boot the same as on my Avensis thought some models have one.
  8. What model year would help?........ Soz thought people just looked at my sig... as you Have a 2001 LS430 !!!! I have a 2002 LS 430 so same model as you. Like This
  9. Was trying to open the boot manually ie without using the key,There is a Button, as I thought but it wasnt working so when I stripped the boot liner to investigate I've discovered its just a blanking plate! anyone know is there a boot switch on some models, can I put a switch in as id like to be able to open the boot manually.
  10. It is a Northern Irish plate not all plates have Z in them More and more of the recent ones have Z but not all,Six different ones here for each of six counties mine (county) was IL now IG as in AIG BIG no CIG, DIG etc.its at OIG at the moment.Being non age relared they are great with these cars as the look so new even when older.
  11. Like the Jap imports that use to come in it was just a matter of putting a MPH sticker on the dash beside the kph.Dont know why hes is waiting six months, whats that about!
  12. Think id be contacting the Irish Lexus garage first to see about a service history!
  13. £100 + vat Its an OK job but im a perfectionist and i noticed a eye lash hair under it and i know its there now, place that done it was more a sign writer guy who done wraps dusty workshop!!So ya get what you pay for i suppose.
  14. seen the ebay one today too,Looking at it glad i asked for the gutter strips to be done too!Tint the back windows will blend it all in.
  15. Maybe not to everyone's taste but like how it looks on some of the other Executive saloons! so went and wrap'd the roof gloss black if I dont like it ill just peel it off.
  16. Well I got one All looked good No Air suspension and all looked in order, Importing from Republic of Ireland Had its moments but all done now thankfully. Very clean inside and out service history all looked to be in order regular service been done (BELTS DONE)107k on the clock and was Good value for money. Now I know its my own fault for not going deeper into the service history as all the fluids were all nice and fresh could do with an oil change but in the whole looked like it had been well taken care of! You know that there is a BUT coming right.!!! But on ringing the last garage that there was a receipt for, I was told that while they serviced it they never done the Timing belt (independent garage) since about 80k Reading up I assumed it was done around 90k as recommended. Nope. Not been done. So my value for money starting to drop a bit now, Now I reckon taking the TB into consideration it still a cheap car but its a expense I hadn't wanted .Plus my Mechanic going to have heart failure when he sees the job in store for him.More to follow.....
  17. Ive and avensis too but its Er car im replacing A 92 Celica but havnt decided to sell it yet may stick it in a garage somewhere as my Mk2 Gti Is in the garage at the house im running out of room Oh god hate selling my cars,I get too attached
  18. Just got my paper work back two weeks to the day,reg transferred from my current car (private plate) and new log book for my current car but no log book for the lexus yet. And if over ten years no vat,
  19. If it's over ten years don't need a cert of conformity just notify HMRC first before sending paperwork to Swansea
  20. And this is why there is bargains in Ireland! plus the euro is just worth 74p at the moment so good exchange rates.just £55 reg fee to bring it in but there is a load of forms to fill, and you have to contact HMRC first to fill in a NOVA.I had trouble getting insurance too on the VIN number but if you contact the Beareau of insurers they will give you contact details of who will.
