  1. I've done about 5K in mine since I got it at the end of April. I've tracked every tankful on fuelly.com and so far my overall average is 52.6. Best on a single tank so far was 58.8. I could get a little better if Mrs B didn't drive it - she's a bit heavy footed and the average drops when she's at the wheel. I drove from Bristol to London a few weeks back - over the 250 mile return journey I managed an indicated 72 which I was surprised at - mostly on cruise control at an indicated 70mph You will never better, or even match the prius figures in the CT - its not as aerodynamic and I think its a bit heavier
  2. Think mine was about £1200 for the next 5 services. 3 intermediate, 1 full and 1 full+60 Not really sure if that's a good deal, but I wanted to keep with dealer servicing to keep the extended warranty, and they let me pay monthly so I don't really notice it
  3. When I got my (used) CT they provided roadside cover for me. I called to add my partner and they issued new cards.....but the expiry date had moved forward three months.....
  4. I bought a CT in April, and I'm fairly happy with it, but will look to change it to an IS in a couple of years. 80% of the journeys in it are solo, but for the other 20% it does feel tight on space. I'm 6'2 and don't think I would comfortably fit if I was any bigger plus I have to have the seat all the way back I love the hybrid drive train, but wish it had just a little more get up and go with a few less RPM, but the biggest issue for me is that the Mrs has a heavy foot and she does about half the mileage in it. She works shifts so is often driving on the motorway when its quiet resulting in her "pressing on" which has a very negative effect on consumption. I think that this might be addressed by the larger engine in the IS
  5. Just checked the handbook and I'm surprised at how much is considered acceptable. - up to 1ltr per 1000KM / 600 miles Sounds like an awful lot to me so I guess they have all bases covered. Don't imagine my litre in 5K will even figure on the radar
  6. Would be very surprised if a seat was just £500 TBH. In http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/101906-help-headrest-for-my-ct/ there is a figure quoted of £560 for just a headrest. I wonder if the £500 is your share of the cost?
  7. Checked the level again and it was down to the minimum so it's going somewhere :-( If it was full and on the Max after the last service then I guess its used about 1 ltr over 5K which I guess will be considered within acceptable limits, although disappointing. Will mention it at the next service, but not really expecting them to do anything other than nod
  8. I know Lexus claim the cvt gearbox is sealed for life, but looking around the net there are a lot of people (mostly state side) recommending a fluid change. My CT has covered 105K now and I'm not planning on a fluid change, but has anyone else bothered? Are there any horror stories of box's going bang?
  9. Tell me about it - recent trip to Lexus Edgeware road was a pain - I spent £100 worth of petrol just getting down and back and they wouldnt even haggle on price - they were like "the price is what you pay". I was like "stick it up your backside then" - told the salesman straight to his face and walked out. Used car Manager wasn't pleased lol why are dealers so up themselves, they still need to make money and surely a sale is a sale, are lexus more concerned with the corporate market as opposed to the private market, where corporate sales will just pay the asking price without question. Corporate don't pay the asking price, lease companies and fleet buyers negotiate huge discounts to the point that there is very little margin in a new car. I remember a dealer telling me that on some of the bulk discount schemes they were lucky if they made £100 profit after the cost of preparing a car. Used is where the profit is. Dealer I bought from could have sold me an extended warranty and a service plan if they had made some effort, but they couldn't be bothered, so I bought the extras somewhere else. I may decided to change into an is300 in the future, but no way I would go back to the same dealer so they have potentially lost future revenue.
  10. Don't think I'll bother then. It used to make a difference in my smart roadster - ran smoother and better MPG, but not really noticed the difference in anything else I've run. Sounds like it wont make any difference to the CT
  11. Just wondering - does anyone use super unleaded? I've not tried but was wondering if there might be any difference / advantage
  12. Purchased my first Lexus in April and the dealer experience has been pretty poor. Happy with the car, but the dealer left a lot to be desired. I can live with the service being at best average if the car is cheap and the servicing reasonable, but they are selling a premium product and charging for it. My dealings with Audi and VW dealers have been better and with the extended service intervals taken into account a fair bit cheaper
  13. I'm not sure on what basis you can reject the car. Unless you have something stating that all the head rests were included in the sale then I'm not sure they have technically done anything wrong. OP states that the pictures show it as missing so they would argue he was aware about it as tested. Don't get me wrong, I'd be upset and would expect any self respecting dealer to fix the problem, but I'm not really sure they have a legal obligation
  14. Sounds like they are on a par with the dealer I purchased from. Lexus UK asked me for feedback on my experience so I was honest with them. Dealer principle then rang me and left a message saying he had received negative feedback and wanted to discuss with me. I rang back on several occasions but he was always unavailable and never returned my calls so I left it there. Lexus UK also asked if I wanted them to contact me and discuss so I said yes. 3 months later still waiting for their call. I love the car and have my eye on changing into an is300h in the future, but so far the Lexus experience has been poor compared to my previous dealings with Audi and VW.
  15. Fair point, my drive is on a very slight incline, but the road outside is dead level - I'll check again when its been parked on the road for a while
  16. Here is my drivers seat after 104K (although it needs a clean) There is slight wear on the bolster, but I don't think its disproportionate to the mileage
  17. No sign of any leak, under the bonnet, and the drive is also clean, so I don't think a leak it to blame. I'll check again in a couple of weeks to see if the level has changed. I bought it from a main dealer who had serviced it from new, but to be honest they didn't really fill me with confidence, so the possibility that it wasn't on max wouldn't surprise me
  18. Not sure if I should be concerned or not. I checked the oil level today - first time since I got it, and it was about 1 third up from the minimum. I picked it up having just been serviced, and about 2.5K ago. I cant be sure it was on the max as I haven't checked it before Do these use oil? Is anyone else having to top the oil up between services? On a positive note the oil was very clean!
  19. Pretty sure the seats in my 2013 Luxury are genuine. Its just over 100K and they look almost like new
  20. 6 weeks / 1500 miles in and so far best tank was 53.3 , worst is 48.8 and average is 50.9 Not bad, and I had hoped for around 50 average. If I just drove it would be better, but my partner had lead feet and also works shifts, so drives when the roads are quieter i.e. she cruises at 80+ - not the best usage for a hybrid
  21. I'm sue I read another post somewhere about a guy finding a genuine dealer supplied replacement was cheaper, so may be worth a call to the dealership
  22. I'm using a Sony Xperia Z3. I set up the bluetooth no problem, but then when I tried for the connected services element it asks me which mobile operator I am on. The options were O2 and one other (vodafone I think). I'm on Three so when I pick "other" I get asked for a host of information which I have not been able to find yet. Now wherever I start up I get a brief message telling me it was unable to update
  23. Had no idea it was that long - they tried to tell me that they thought the £495 offer had, or was just about to, finish
  24. I've just bought a CT with premium navigation. So far really pleased, but having difficulties with the connected services. I've got the bluetooth element set up with no issues, but when I try to set up the connected services I just keep getting errors telling me it cant connect. Any pointers / suggestions?
  25. I've just bought a CT200h from a dealer - they wanted to charge me £680 for the extended warranty! I pointed out it was £495 on the website, and he just looked a bit deflated ;-)
