  1. I know on mine i have the DAB button but in the menu it,s greyed out and cannot use it.Lexus are quoting me £450 to fit a module and an internal aerial.Basically it,s plug and play on mine(2011).

You should have some sort of wiring in your shark fin aerial as i don,t see what an empty case can do.Maybe it,s not reconnected?

  2. I had this trouble with a dealer i went to (local) who wanted to charge me £325 fitted.I phoned Lexus UK who stated that it,s a fixed price of £250 fitted.

I now use a dealer 36 miles away from me to do any work/servicing and who fitted it for £250.Well done Lexus Hedge End and shame on you Lexus Poole for ripping people off.

  3. The CT makes alot of strange noises when braking in any conditions.Mine does too and has always done it since new(2011) up until now at 110K.The loan CT i was given when mine was being serviced at Lexus even made these noises and that was brand new with 22 miles on it.

  4. There,s much better products out there than T Cut now which i wouldn,t use.I don,t think it will make it worse by trying to buff it out first.

If you can post a photo on here of what it looks like so we can help you.Touching up with paint will make it worse depending on the depth of the scratch. If its swirls as you say it could just buff/polish out.

    Agree, it looks great.

Do you have any further upgrades or modifications planned?

I,ve been deciding over a while now to actually facelift the front and rear bumpers. It,s quite difficult to get the later front bumper with headlight wash as well as sensors.Maybe i could delete the function and just have sensors?

The rear bumper isn,t a problem and is very easy.

Just buffed up the headlights again.

    Fitted a facelift gearknob.

  6. Just to update this.

I didn,t go down the welding route with this so i had a new rear section fitted today at a Lexus dealer. They done me a good deal on it and gave me 15% discount plus another 15% discount with the Lexus Owners Club card.

Great service from Lexus Hedge End again.Whilst waiting i also bought the wife a Toyota Aygo from the adjoining Toyota dealership.

I had a broken exhaust mount a couple of years ago. Lexus quoted me a similar price to replace. In the end, I took it to a local welder who fixed out for me, £30 iirc, he didn't disconnect any of the batteries, should he have?

When I had the car in for MOT in January, whilst performing the health check, they noticed that part of the exhaust shield had come away. I had a mechanic mate fit a Catloc-likee in February, and he couldn't see anything wrong with the exhaust shield. If Lexus mention it next time it goes in, I'll go and see the welder again.

Edit: It seems it was 3 years ago, I just found my post, you commented at the time stormchaser.

Its strange how yours went in exactly the same place as mine.Maybe a weak point on these?

Our videos are almost identical.I,m yet to sort out mine to be welded as it,s not causing any harm or noise.

I find it extraordinarily poor design that this easily clippable wire is so readily accessible. The wire could be re-routed, or, a grille or armouring could be applied to the wire in its current location. I am pondering how to do that on mine. Rerouting sounds like a major PIA however adding a secondary grille to prevent the hooking and cutting of that wire through the grille, or armouring it somehow seems appealing.

I,m suprised they could get through the later Spindle grille design on yours whereas the early models like mine are very easy.

  9. The other day when i had my Catloc fitted at the dealer i took them up on a free health check for the CT.

The fitter noticed i had a broken rear exhaust mount near the rear silencer.Lexus quoted me £595 to fit a new rear section which i declined as they,re only interested in fitting a complete part and not repairing it.

I.m going to get it welded back on at an independent garage i know who does exhaust fabrication. My question is will they have to just disconnect the small 12v Battery in the boot or will the traction Battery have to be disconnected also?

Is that the small plug in the boot?
