  1. I think the extended warranty from Lexus is worth while, I've had it on my old RX400h and did use it once. I'm about to buy a RX450h SE-L that is 9.5 years old and 112k on it. It has a full lexus history so i'm eligable to buy it. I like the peace of mind that comes with and also the service plan is good value for money.
  2. I've done the opposite to what your doing, only for space reasons. I had a 61 plate GS450H, and now have an 09 RX400H. The brake on the GS where fantastic, totally different to the RX. I taken the RX to Lexus to check the brakes as in comparison to the GS they where crap. I've gotten use to it now but it depends if you need the extra room etc
  3. Hi Guys, Need your must needed input again, I've had my RX400h for 6 months now with no issues, about 3 months ago i had an issue with the 12v battery where it wasn't holding charge. I replaced this with a new battery from a specalist who said it was nackered (original battery). I had no further issues until i went on holiday for 2 weeks and it was dead upon my return, the AA came out and jump started it, happy days and started again. The following day the same happened, I wasn't impressed to say the least. I called Lexus to explain who asked me to bring it in, luckily I got an extended warrenty and thats coving it so far. The main issue is i think there i little stumped to where the battery drain is coming from, I'm happy in the RX450h F Sport they've given me but i'm wondering if anyone else has had the same or similar issue? Thanks Howard
  4. From my local dealer, only got a little discount because I paid in full cash 👍👍
  5. No mate you don't, as long as the car has a full Lexus service history and will carry on being serviced by Lexus. Service plans are cheap paying monthly, they will check it over make sure all is ok then put the warranty on 👍👍 You can add a warranty upto the cars 10th Birthday as long as it doesn't exceed 140k miles. 👍👍
  6. Yes that's what I have done, bought an 09 with 81k and full history for 7.5k plus £995 for Lexus warranty 👍👍👍👍
  7. Thanks very much Lurch, I'll give it a go tomorrow 👍👍👍
  8. Hi mate, any chance you have an image of where the fuse is? It's done it again :( I'll have to buy a genuine disk as the two copies I've bought have caused issues. thanks 👍👍
  9. Good to know mate 👍 Plus Lexus said is knocked the auto windows out disconnecting the battery 😫👍👍
  10. P.s is there an order to disconnect the battery? positive/neg first etc
  11. Thanks Farqui, is the 12v the standard batter on the left? and not the hybrid one :) thanks
  12. Hi guys, Need some advice for my 09 RX400h, my car has a 2008 nav disk. I bought a replacement from satnavdiscs.co.uk, I removed the original disk and put the new one in (the right way) and closed it. When I turn on the nav it just says reading map data and flashes, then goes back to reading map data. I've tried to remove the disk but it won't eject. Any ideas? I've tried it with ignition on and engine on but no joy. I read somewhere you can disconnect the battery but don't fancy doing that as it could affect the hybrid/electrical systems. Thanks
  13. Thanks very much mate, looks like some good additons :)
  14. Thanks jabowsi, Some good sugestions, any change you have a link where to buy these? I was looking at front/rear parking sensors, just incase lol
  15. Evening guys, Well i've done it, I've sold my 2011 GS450h for a 2009 RX400h Limited Edition with 81k miles, full history etc. Only paid £7500 on a private sale, needed more space for the little ones. Has anyone done any mods that might be of interest? I'm keen to get a new face for where the cassett player is, has anyone done this? cheers Howard :)
  16. Agreed love the chrome, havent seen any of that age with 29k miles on. Hopefully it will sell quick :)
  17. For quickness I would personally take the are to Lexus, tell them of all your concerns and get a report off them of what they have found. This you can take to the dealer as proof of the issues, if they fob you off inform them you’re going to instruct Lexus to make the repairs and take them to small claims court to retrieve the money. :)
  18. First question how did you pay for the car? If you put more than £100 on your crdit card (deposit ect) you can claim under section 75 for a full refund. The below is if you bought the car within the last 30 days, ignor the date 14th feb. You’re legally entitled to your money back or a repair if the car is faulty ‘Faulty’ means the car is not: ‘of satisfactory quality’ - it should do what you’d expect for its age, price and type ‘fit for purpose’ - eg if you asked for a car that would pull a caravan, it has to be able to do that ‘as described’ - it has to match the advert or the description the trader gave you If the problem fits into at least one of these categories, take it back to the trader before 14 February 2017 to get a full refund. You have longer if you only want a repair - and if the trader takes too long (or it causes you too much inconvenience), you’ll still be entitled to a refund. Think about whether the problem is likely to lead to bigger issues when you’re deciding whether you’d rather get a repair or a refund. If the problem doesn’t need fixing (for example there’s a dent), you might want to ask the trader for a discount instead. If the fault means you can’t drive the car, you should ask the trader to come and collect it at their own cost. You shouldn’t have to pay, so long as the car is actually faulty.
  19. Thats not good, has this company got a Facebook/twitter etc accounts? If so you could use that and put up the pictures with a brief description of the faults, might boot them into action :)
