  1. Personally I would get the major essential service, at 5k miles I wouldn't of thought it would be necessary for a 100k service :)
  2. I get ya, with that milage and age of car I personally wouldn't bother with the full Lexus service. You can get a major essential care service for around £300.
  3. Whats the milage on your car? I'm assuming he's recommending that for a reason, are they discounting it for you? Yes certainly, with a service plan you should be able to use any Lexus centre.
  4. Lexus tunbridge wells offered to myself for £895, but that offer has now expired. It was about 50/50 when I enquired with different dealers regarding success :)
  5. Its the standard Lexus service reduced to match the essential service :) 50k service £275.00 plan £179 60k service £675.00 inc spark plugs plan £369 70k service £275.00 plan £179 £1225 minus £727 plan Saving £498.00
  6. Good news, looks like its getting sorted. Told you alway a discount to be had lol I taken a service plan out at £49 per month to cover 3 services, I only done this because I got 3 Lexus services at the price of the essential service, saving £498.
  7. I totally agree, I would be fuming also. I'm playing devils advocate with what I'm saying and what the said garage say, with a boot not closing I agree that is something that must be fixed. With the panels being out I'd imagine they won't do anything, they will just say its an acceptable repair. Even though I personally totally disagree with it. If they don't fix any of it I would be seeking legal advice and taking them to the small claims court, after a full review from Lexus as to the issues :)
  8. The only way he would be entitled to a refund if the car has been in an accident that has been recorded (cat d etc) and not been disclosed, car dealerships are not legally obliged to disclose any repairs etc unless you ask, even then they may still not know the full history of the car. If there really are issues that need to be addressed you need to get a full inspection done like GSLVS says, but take in mind your still not entitled to a refund only a repair if its deemed not as described. The garage is within there rights to say you test drove and inspected the car and where happy with it, the only way around this its its not fit for purpose. For example it keeps on breaking down etc lol If its a Lexus dealership you need to take the car to them and complain about the poor workmanship, you have a 30 day exchange period also with Lexus. Good luck
  9. No they don't mate, but I'm assuming is a Lexus dealership? If there are defects that are present, I would certainly raise it with them.
  10. Yes it's serviced at my local dealer, as far as I'm aware if you have a service plan in place you can choose any dealer to service it. 👍
  11. I think everyone needs to chill and look at the bigger picture, every dealer has a margin of £££ to make each month which covers servicing. After I little research and approaching different dealers you can get them to negotiate the price of a service plan and extended warranty plan. I was offered the 24 month extended warranty for £895 for my GS, almost all other dealers reduced it to £995. The service plan I have in place as below, I pay monthly for this but I had the choice to pay the total in full. 50k service £275.00 plan £179 60k service £675.00 inc spark plugs plan £369 70k service £275.00 plan £179 £1225 minus £727 plan Saving £498.00 Be cheeky and ask for a discount
  12. I just found my dream car... Search for yours via Auto Trader #DrivenByMe http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201611109633924
  13. Thanks for the interesting read, good to know. They told me they would replace both callipers, even though only one is seized. I assumed it was standard lol Yes I would never buy disks of eBay, I've got a very expensive habit of sticking with dealers and paying out :( :( I might look into an indy to do the job :)
  14. Thanks mate, I never thought about getting it done elsewhere. I useless at that type of thing lol Lexus quoted me £300 to replace with new. I wonder how much an indy would charge? Cheers
  15. Thanks Shahpor, very detailed reply :) Yes your correct its more like a squeal, its extreamly annoying. But I was told its doing no harm and if I could put up with it, it only needs replacing when its due. Or pay £300 to replace the rear disks/pads. Decisions Decisions :)
  16. Afternoon guys, Just need some advice on a service I've had done today at my local Lexus service garage, the car is a 61 plate and only covered 27k miles. It went in for MOT, intermediate service and to investigate a squeaking noise from the brakes. First of all I was told the near side calliper has seized (this is covered under warranty), I was also told the cause of the squeaking was scored brake disks. Does anyone know the cause of this?? I was told the pads are fine but all will need replacing (eventually), the front discs are worn 70% and the rear 30%. I'm assuming thats because of RWD? I'm guessing the main question is why the disks are scored and is it covered under warranty? Cheers Howard
  17. Hi mate, I've got a blackvue dr650 front and rear cam installed, it was hard fired in by an auto spark incase I messed it up. Its very tidy next to the rear view mirror and at the rear, would highly recommend it. Blackvue 2016 Offers - blackvuehd.co.uk‎
  18. Thanks, it's a 61 plate. 5 years old in December 👍
  19. Hi Guys, Just looking for some advice on a service plan from Lexus or elsewhere, my local Lexus had done a decent offer for a service plan. They have reduced the full Lexus service to £797, this includes 2 minor and one major. This is the same price as the Lexus Essential service. Also been offered the 2 year warranty for £895 for my GS450h. My issue is do I need to service the car at Lexus to keep the warranty in tack? It states at the end 'approved Lexus dealership or service point'. What is a service point? http://www.halfordsautocentres.com/advice/servicing-advice/lexus-service Thanks Guys
  20. Please don't waste your money buying from Lexus, get a quote from car2cover, ALA, Frank Pickels etc You'll save a fortune 👍👍
  21. No not yet, only had the car a month. From what I've read there not as good as winter tyres but still good. And it saves changing tyres all the time which is what I wanted 👍
