  1. The RX isn't for throwing in to corners or racing along country roads, it a calm drive, "wafting along" I some reviewers say. Just amble along in your own time, in comfort, enjoy the ride. Thats my thoughts anyway
  2. On a fast road, with a set of Bridgestone Duellers, the ride on the F-Sport is smooth. Much, Much smoother than the NX's IMHO
  3. I complained that it is mad that Lexus own branded insurance wont insure their own cars at a sensible price if at any price at all. I was told that the big wigs at Lexus are having a meeting with their underwriters and insurers as nobody is taking out their insurance or there is a noticeable drop in revenue from their insurers and that just like its taken customers to push Lexus CS, it will take customers to push complaints en mass to their insurers. We got them to listen about the plates, lets get them to listen about sensible insurance quotes.
  4. Maybe they can connect the plates to the battery so that the "scrotes" get a belt from it when they touch it.
  5. You are right, one shouldn't need one but we live in a world where people just want to take your hard earned items. Things you have put so much effort and time in to being able to enjoy, and some sub-human who has no sense of right and wrong, who has no guilt, who doesn't care about anyone else, wants to take it from you. To some people maybe it is irreplaceable. To some people they have a one off chance to own a car like the RX. Then again would you leave a cheap lock and no security on your home and just say well I spent enough on it and thats life if you get burgled, after all, your contents are replaceable with hundreds of identical items?
  6. OK so I measured the boot space. The narrowest point across the width is 113cm 3 cases upright comes to 90, so I can get 3 in there and fold the 60% down and put the 4th and the back packs there. No battery vents blocked then and hopefully Happy days.
  7. Hi How much luggage can the RX (not the L) take with either both parts of the back seat upright and stuff on that part of the seat or with the 60% part folded down. Could you get 1 Large suitcase, 2 medium suitcases, 2 carryon (not the Kenneth Williams type) suitcases and 3 fair size back packs in the car plus 3 people? Never tried it. Any photos would be great to visualise it.
  8. There are 2 big pluses for a properly fitted tracker. 1) Your car is being monitored by someone else 24x7. If you are asleep, its monitored. If you are at the shops, its monitored, if you are in the cinema its monitored. If it moves you get a phone call. 2) The police react much better to monitored vehicles than your own DIY tracker. Some of the bigger manufacturers have a very high recovery rate, somewhere in the 90%s I believe. If you spend tens of thousands on a car are you really going to go for the cheapest option or the one that offers you the most protection?
  9. Lexus CR have been bombarded or ambushed by a lot of unhappy RX owners complaining that nothing was being done and they took notice. The plates that have been fitted so far I believe are the first batch, I understand that they are being produced and distributed in small but frequent batches to all dealerships in the UK. I also understand that Lexus insurance have been told to stop refusing to insure the RX or stop insuring it at silly prices and something is happening there, basically everyone told them to F**k off and suddenly they lost revenue and this was noticed in Japan, questions were asked and it became a bit of an issue for them... so I hear.
  10. I hear that Lexus are now fitting the plate FOC and anyone who paid will be getting a refund.
  11. I did ask if they are doubling or tripling the cost to insure then are they paying out 2 - 3 times the value? Its all a scam, a legitimate and legalised scam. Who knows how these huge companies operate at the highest levels, influencing markets etc?
  12. Insurers are just cashing in on it. My quotes have gone from £600 to £1100+. Lexus wanted about £5000 to insure it, most insurers are quoting me £3000+ or refusing to insure full stop. Big names like Esure, Churchill, Direct Line, even LV went from £1k to £1400 in just a matter of days. I have finally go a quote I will go with from a big name. But it is just a license for insurance companies to squeeze the customer for every penny they can make.
  13. Maybe they need to imprint something on the wheel arch to say canbus connector inaccessible
  14. Lexus UK have been helpful, it is worth contacting them directly
  15. It's just not good enough. IMHO... I have the impression that Lexus is happy to take the money from thousands of customers but when it is time for them to help the customer, they don't want to know.
  16. Maybe there are some auditors who might like to audit some dealerships and Lexus HQ and ask why they are not taking this seriously? all from publicly accessible land of course
  17. Hey Lexus CS. Start using Trunk Monkey to fix the CANBUS theft issue. Look I found you a solution.
  18. I had to laugh at this though. https://www.itv.com/news/calendar/2023-06-27/classic-ford-fiesta-stolen-from-heartbroken-tv-crew
  19. So how do we convince Lexus to say "OK you caught us out, there is a vulnerability"?
