  1. AND, just hope your door handles don't stop working! https://lexuspartsdirect.co.uk/product/lexus-lc-phase-1-o-s-door-handle-assembly/
  2. You can see why it doesn't take much to write these cars off!
  3. Well, the good news is that Lexus parts direct have a sale. Check out how cheap a wheel is - https://lexuspartsdirect.co.uk/product/lexus-lc-21-inch-type-wheel/ Yes, I'm being flippant, but the point I'm trying to make is that when things break, the fix may me extortionate. All LC500s (irrespective of value are £100k cars)
  4. People get hung up about mileage, but it could work in your favour. For example, around 50k (miles) there will be a big service and the chances are front discs. So, what would you rather buy, a 45k miles car (that's not had the discs changed) or a 55k miles that's already had the work done?
  5. Point well made! Also, there seems to be a lot of naivety about Lexus Relax.
  6. I always worry about maintenance costs. I considered an R8 before the LC, but decided against it because of potential large bills.
  7. Fair points. However, even now the Lexus dealers seem to struggle with diagnosing issues with the LC (due to its rarity). Imagine if a dealer has to do 10 hrs diagnosis whilst you’re paying the bill outside of warranty. Let’s take the gearbox as an example. It’s used in just the LC. Compare that to a ZF box.. if you have an issue with a ZF box, the chances are the issue will be very common and there’ll be lots of indies that can work on it. The LC gearbox on the other hand…….. The LC500 is my third Lexus. I’d put it’s build quality last. I think the rarity of the LC500 may make it an expensive long termer.
  8. A few years from now and some LC500s will fall outside of Lexus Relax. Would you run an LC without a Lexus warranty?
  9. Make sure the fuel pump recall work has been done - unlikely it hasn’t.
  10. I think it’s across the board. Cost of living is just crazy.
  11. If Top Trump numbers are of importance to you, my gut feeling is.... don't buy one.
  12. Quite easy to open the exhaust valves. You can do a bodge ( or buy some electronics - https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1067743897/lexus-lc-500-exhaust-valve-controller?gpla=1&gao=1&&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=shopping_uk_en_gb_a-electronics_and_accessories-car_parts_and_accessories-car_accessories&utm_custom1=_k_CjwKCAjwzN-vBhAkEiwAYiO7oH8Zb3-VrDl87O3mMlRRR2nnB8tbiC8kY_2FQSu8COd8RYL-6LJEvRoCcSwQAvD_BwE_k_&utm_content=go_12603394034_126677795184_508814344970_aud-2079782229334:pla-354955384985_c__1067743897engb_102858184&utm_custom2=12603394034&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwzN-vBhAkEiwAYiO7oH8Zb3-VrDl87O3mMlRRR2nnB8tbiC8kY_2FQSu8COd8RYL-6LJEvRoCcSwQAvD_BwE) Fitting - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZIeXiScHqpk
  13. My spin on this…… Having had people break into my house looking for keys (years ago) whilst I was in the house, I’d rather just wake up and the car be gone. End of. I don’t want some determined bar steward standing over my bed with a baseball bat asking for a ghost code. Visual deterrents are surely the best. Even better friend, the law of averages. There surely can’t be much demand for an LC, and most LCs seem to be that yucky red colour - nobody would want one of those, surely 😜
  14. Like you say, what else would you replace an LC with? 🤔 I’ve bought a little warm BMW to daily….. probably faster than the LC 😀. The LC will remain in the garage and only be used occasionally. Not driven the LC for three weeks, then started it yesterday. God…… it’s so loud for a stick car cold start. 😂
  15. Few people know what an RC-F is. I really wouldn’t worry
  16. More and more cars seem to be suffering with this - here and over in the US. The tightening fix only seems to fix it for a while.......
  17. Generally when you pull off and come to stop. A single clunk. Once it happens it won't happen again until you do the opposite motion i.e stop or start.
  18. Let's hope they fix it for you - it's the sort of thing that can drive you POTTY!
  19. Yeh yeh - another LC500 😁 On the other hand, the house looks amazing. How about a walk round video of that!?
  20. I've encountered this with several LCs. Just be warned that Lexus tend to fix it and the noise returns. Hopefully the attached will help.
  21. Was looking at an R8, but LC500 sound (to me) is up there with the R8 V10 (and more accessible) LC500 rarity LC500 loved by most of the public LC500 reliability and RELAX. R8 fragility scared the hell out of me
  22. Personally, having driven both RWS and non RWS, I wouldn't buy a car without it. The turn in is so much more crisp and makes the car feel much smaller than it is.
  23. Totally agree - but for me, I've actually learnt to enjoy them because of this. Having said that, I'll definitely be going back to Michelin. They seem much more predictable.
  24. Just as an update on this. It appears that Lexus recognise that the original seat suffers from excessive movement. They have tweaked the design since, BUT the tweak doesn't work. So, if your seat doesn't move right now - it probably will sooner or later 😁
