I grated mine royaly (that'll be the most expensive Sausage and Egg McMuffin I will ever purchase) and found a local car detailer who matched the paint and refurbished the whole wheel for £50. At the same time he said he could do all 4 wheels a different colour for £220 which I must admit I was tempted to go for a darker gun metal grey or even a black but for the moment I stuck with the original colour. Only afterwards I found out that he details cars for celebrities and footballers so the £50 per wheel is pretty good value for money. Anyone in the Heywood, Lancashire area wanting work doing, let me know and I'll furnish you with his contact details.

I, like you love my tech especially sat navs (I'd be lost without it[emoji15]). The first thing I looked for when changing my car was: (in this order) Looks Price Gadgets Fun factor Economy If the first two weren't there (in place) I wouldn't bother and move on to another make/model. If I had any doubt that my new car wouldn't tick the above boxes I'd never sign my name on the order form. I was given the IS300h sport for 24 hours to test it fully which is where I found the sat nav to be poor (Had Tom tom's all my driving life) so it wasn't s deal breaker for me to swap the sport model to an FSport as this doesn't come with any nav. As previously mentioned in this thread, for someone who loves their tech, I'd of thought this would of been the first thing you'd of made sure was right before signing the order. In the end, you've a great looking car which turns heads not only on looks but the shear quietness PLUS they're certainly not in the "clitoris" category I'd put the other cars mentioned in this thread.

I didn't go for that option, just read somewhere else on this forum it's availability. I'd guess it'll be quite expensive, considering what they wanted from me if I wanted sat nav adding.

FSport doesn't come with sat nav (UK anyway) but I thought it was bobbins anyway. All trims in the IS300h have the same drive train. Also, FSport is a bit harder on the road unless you opt for the adaptive suspension. I opted for the FSport and was a little anxious as I only took the standard Sport one on test drive but I needn't of worried as I'm loving every minute of driving even on our crappy British roads.

I'm now getting around 45-46. I came from Volvo D4 cloud making machine so I automatically drove the IS in the same manor I would the Volvo and was getting the high 30's on my commute. Since then I've changed my driving style from "Mario Karts" to a more cruising style and I don't mean "Driving Miss Daisy" style. I've learnt how and when the Eco kicks in and how to get a better result from my tank. I'm sure yours will improve but above all, enjoy the car, its quietness, it's comfort, and that lovely feeling when you put it in Sport mode at the lights and watch those behind you flounder with gears as you're up to 30mph in an almost silent blink of the eye. Drive careful out there as there's still some BMW drivers around. [emoji6]

I find the system works well with the iPhone. Coming from the Volvo which the system was very basic with no reading of messages/emails etc the Lexus feels a lot better equipped. Always connects with both work and personal phones and text messages are shown on the dash screen. I use the dictation on Siri for responding to messages. I for one think having emails show on your dash screen pretty pointless as emails tend to be of the larger content and I certainly wouldn't want to be reading/responding to those on the dash screen anyway. Loving the connection of Apple Music and the album art on the dash screen, inc the search option of what tracks you have in your phone. Maybe the system isn't as up to date as the competition but for me coming from my previous car it does more than I expected. Each to their own though, I found the sat nav very poor on the Lexus and others love it. Ask a dealer to connect your phone to one of their cars, this takes seconds and you will feel first hand how it performs.

When new, I think I just drove my Lexus as I did my Volvo diesel (plus jumping in and out of Sport mode didn't really help) I've learnt to drive in a different manner but getting just as good performance with only a 6-8mpg difference from my last diesel burner.

My current "From Refuel" readout is showing 49.2mpg with a quarter of the tank gone. That's with a mixture of city (up to 30mph) and m-way miles (up to 80mph) in normal mode. Anyway, I've chosen my car which I love the drive, handling, comfort and looks so whatever I get to the gallon it doesn't matter as I have it for the next 3 years. The day I drive a car to maximise the fuel efficiency rather than enjoy the experience is the day I hand in my keys and get a bus pass. Drive it how you want to (within reason) and enjoy but above all, be safe out there (Hill Street Blues reference for those old enough to remember)

Which Woolworths would that be Andrew ? Pretty safe promise I'd say I do about 8k miles each year and love the Lexus experience without getting hung up on mpg, just like you I guess. [emoji6] Okay, Burtons window.

I'm currently getting around 45mpg and that's mostly motorway mileage which I'm happy with. I've changed my driving style from my Volvo diesel to the IS300h and I'm enjoying every drive more and more. Brake grind is a ball-ache so I try to avoid feathering the stop peddle.

As mentioned in a previous post, my colleagues £65k Audi Q5 does the same when coming to a stop and releasing the brake.

Yeah, had that myself. It feels like the back wheels are pushing the front wheels sideways. My last car had a turning circle of a large yacht so even not at full lock I can turn in half the space.

It's nice when you finally stop that annoying creek or squeak. I remember my Peugeot RCZ, the wipers always had a shudder when in operation, no matter what the garage and I did it'll only be silent for a week or two. The dilemma I have with my IS300h is I've a lovely quiet cabin but the noisiest child seat in the world. Yes I could take it out every day after dropping the ankle biter off at the childminder but all that in and out each week would result in my damaging the interior or worse. Q: is the a allowed time limit you can put a small child in the boot of a car?

I need to stop making comparisons between my stealth Lexus and my tool box full of bolts Volvo where I was getting 54mpg. On a plus point, I'm taking less pain killers as my headaches have more than halved.

MPG....... Happily, I now report that I'm averaging around 47mpg (after 2000+ miles) and 46.7mpg after refuel and that's with me actually driving the car not feathering the loud peddle.

I wasn't a fan of the navigation system on my days test drive of the IS300h so I wasn't to concerned when they said it didn't come as standard on the F Sport. I'm sure it's a good system for some but I've had Tomtom's from the start and I couldn't substitute that for something that looked like it was programmed and developed on Spectrum computer

I was out in a colleagues new Audi Q5 yesterday and that did the exact same thing albeit drowned out slightly by the Diesel engine rattle.

Has anyone found a way to get the pictures in your iPhone contacts to show on the dash screen when making/receiving calls?. I've read somewhere that the iPhone isn't fully compatible with the phone system thus no contact pics being displayed but I'm surprised if that's the case being as the iPhone is probably the most used phone format out there. (Thinking on, this probably explains no Appleplay or Mirrorlink* compatibility with the iPhone) P.S. Pretty much all my contacts have perfect faces for radio (except the wife[emoji16]) so no contact pics on the screen isn't a biggie but I would of liked the option. Any help would be much appreciated. * Anyone out there use Mirrorlink?, is it any good?, do you use it for navigation?, if so how does this work if you're using nav and want to play music from the phone at the same time? All these questions and so early in the morning , this bed wetting is really starting to impact my sleep now.

Great post. I have to admit, I make up excuses to go the longer way to my destinations now I'm in the IS300h.

Another quick tip to stop the creep brake squeak is to stuff a slice of bread between disc and pad before setting off. This only lasts until you apply the breaks for the first time but you not only stop in silence you also get the lovely smell of toast. I find the Mega Slice loaf works best but saying that I've not tried the crusty whole meal that Hovis have just started producing.

You could also lean slightly to one side while lifting your leg [emoji2][emoji2] I'll try that tomorrow.
