  1. I nearly sold my GS300 recently due to a mixture of reasons, none of them car related and even listed it on an well known auction site. It didn't sell in the end and I was glad really because I love the car it is a brilliant machine. I was just walking back from posting a birthday card at the end of the street and spied my beauty on the drive from a distance. I love it.
  2. You'll love him driving this Dodge Viper then, it gives him a real workout he's breathing hard by the time he gets to the bottom of the hill! I think he drives it faster on the way back up.
  3. What do you guys think to the review of the ISF? Do you feel it was a fair appraisal of the car? I am very tempted by the £14.5k car and it's literally round the corner from me, I can walk to the place the photo's were taken in ten minutes, but I would love a GS F when the price inevitably comes down a bit more. First world problems eh.......
  4. I posted this in the video thread but thought a few of you F owners would like this review if you haven't already seen it. I'm seriously tempted at selling my GS and Cressida (when it's finished) and getting into one of these beasties! either that or wait a few years and pick up as GS F for a song
  5. Good Review of the IS F. I'm really considering one at the moment, so much car for the money..........
  6. Some serious bits of kit owned by Gumball3000 but my favourite in that list has to be the Lotus Carlton

  8. Wheels on and rear lowered to acceptable height however if there is any kind of weight in the car the suspension hits the bump stops. Two solutions on the cards here, modify the bump stops or go down the air bag rabbit hole, good job I've been eating my carrots.........
  9. Wheels painted...... I need to get some pictures up of my GS300 which is an amazing daily driver. I don't think I'm going to let it go even when the Cressida is finished as that was the initial plan but I love it so I'll just have to keep both. Either that or the subject that keeps being batted off by my long suffering wife, the subject of buying a used GSF when it's done a bit more depreciating......
  10. That's a great price, a free clutch with every brake service!
  11. Just thought I would update the thread in case anybody else is having a similar issue. So far flipping the seal around and resetting the ecu via the method above has worked, no more warning lights. Hope this helps someone else, I will be changing the seal for a new one to be on the safe side. Thanks.
  12. Good morning/afternoon/evening delete as applicable, I have recently bought a grille that came off a 2007 Lexus GS450h could anybody tell me if the badge on their grille looks like it comes off? the badge on my 2005 GS300 grille looks like its actually part of the grill and wouldn't be able to be used if I prise it off. Here's a picture of the grill with the mounting points if it helps? Any idea's?
  13. Same. 22/23 around town although I did see 40mpg on the motorway on the way back from when I bought it.
  14. I bought the grille and i'm presuming that nobody knew whether it would fit or not judging by the overwhelming response, I'm here to tell people that an aftermarket grille made for a 2007 GS450h 'kind of' fits a 2005 GS300 i'll outline a few points below. So the overall shape is very similar I offered it up and I was reasonably confident it was going to be a straight swap however it transpires it is not. I stripped down the front of the car to access the original grille, it is quite simple but I personally found it to be a very fiddly job with lots of little clips to make sure you don't break. When I got the Grille off my car it became apparent that the Lexus badge is part of the grill and not an item that can be removed and used again, that was the first failure but I can always buy a correct Lexus badge. Secondly the very centre of the grille didn't appear to seat very well with the bumper and so you could see where the original grille would have located. I presumed that the GS models would have been the same in terms of bodywork to keep costs down but maybe not? Anyway disheartened I have replaced my old grille back in until I can source a badge for the new grille and I shall try again, next time I'll take some pictures step by step to show my success/failure. So you see it really is that simple it will fit, maybe but perhaps not, Savvy? New grille, might have to be moved on if I can't get it to work, wish me luck.
  15. Update, I pulled the EFI fuse 25amp and the 10amp ETCS fuse as recommended here and on the following picture, I did not disconnect the battery, I also removed my fuel cap seal and turned it the other way round so the opposite face now seals against the filler neck. (hope that makes sense) All lights extinguish on start up no more check VSC etc. I'll see if it comes back on after a drive and report back.
  16. Just to be clear the car is a mk3 GS300 not a mk2. Does it suffer with the same brake booster fault?
  17. I've read up on the subject and the sequence of lights, VSC check etc relates to around 40 different errors it's just telling you to take your car to Lexus so they can read the exact fault so it's difficult to say but the fuel cap not being tight enough or sealing incorrectly is definitely a common one, so common that Toyota/Lexus started to put a warning on the fuel cap on certain models stating that if it wasn't tightened sufficiently it would throw up a VSC warning. Here's hoping.
  18. Thanks for the replies and the link KayCee, Lights are still present as of this morning, might be worth £30 for a new fuel cap just to rule that out. I'll keep you posted.
  19. So some of you may know that I decided to buy a GS300 that had covered a mere 140,000 miles, what's the worst that could happen? Anyway it's been performing beautifully and driving like a car with a third of the mileage as you would expect from a lexus. Last night after a 70 mile trip I needed to fill her up for the second time since my ownership as the DTE was indicating 32 miles on a quarter of a tank? Thirsty girl! I pulled into the local BP ( other fossil fuel providers are available) and took off the fuel cap to be greeted with a release of pressure which I believe is normal, and filled her up with BP's finest grade fuel, I forget the name, ultima or something along those lines? So I drove home which was a further 40 odd miles no problems, plenty of power, no warning lights but today just pootling around my local town I get a check vsc message, yellow brake warning, yellow engine check light and the yellow skidding car to indicate no traction control on. I know it's christmas time but that's too many lights for my liking! A quick check on the internet indicates it could be down to a loose fuel filler cap (please be that!) so I went outside and took it off to inspect it. This time no release of pressure perhaps indicating it wasn't sealing all that well? I put it back on and ensured it was three or four clicks tight. Lights still on but some report it may take a few days for the fault to clear itself? Anybody that has had anything similar and would like to share their experience would be greatly appreciated. I'll report back in a couple of days as to the condition of my newly rather festive dash!! Thanks
  20. Cressida rear end is 3.9 and the ls400 is 3.6 off the top of my head so it shouldn't be too bad. Time will tell.
  21. We're going to try and use the Cressida rear end and see how long it lasts ;)
  22. If only it was as easy as that! I forgot to mention get a new prop made to length, a pretty crucial component! Thanks for the well wishes.
