Hey Finn, thanks for the pics - it's a great looking car and being a 2010 it has the grill and alloys that I like.

Mine's an early face lift '08 and like yours...really shifts when you want it too 🙂

I found many of the rattles were coming from the center console which is really easy to remove, fit felt/foam, refit and then enjoy the peace/quite 😉  I hope that your noises can be fixed as easily.

That's not the case in my hybrid, the engine rev's when in Park.  See John's post here that confirm the traction Battery will be charged whilst doing this (albeit not by much)

I haven't seen much loss of charge to my hybrid battery since mid March, although it has had a good run to the shops occasionally.  I don't tend to leave it sat for more than a couple of weeks max.

Provided you are keeping the 12v aux Battery topped up, I wouldn't worry too much about yours being sat.

Hi Joe, that's a nice looking GS and she'll be glad you found her with all your updates.

The exhausts do seem to start failing after 10 years or so, mine did and I (along with others) went for a custom stainless exhaust (by Tony Banks, Leeds) rather than pay the high dealer price.

My Lexus parts dept didn't know what a PCV was, which I found both hilarious and concerning.

They wanted to sell me some crazy complete assembly at a suitably daft price, so I left them to their musings and sourced one from RockAuto for a fraction of the price (bundled into a larger order).

Cleaning them is an option but as they are so cheap to replace it's better to have done with it and fit a new one.

As you're able to jack up and investigate further, then let us know what you find...

I think you'll find that the hybrid GS has an electric power steering system rather than hydraulic.

Can you explain the noise you experience when turning?

You're right that the vehicle controls the traction Battery usage and will not over charge.

I maybe wrong but don't the bars on the hybrid Battery display show 40% to 80% of total Battery capacity?

So you can get all the bars showing full which equates to 80% Battery.

That didn't take long, will check voltage again tomorrow

Mine has been on charge all afternoon now so this is a good reminder to go check it's status.

During this unprecedented time I too have jumped on the CTEK band wagon (with numerous Battery related threads recently).

There are far fewer GS's on the road vs other models, so the chances of GS cat thefts are lower?

The taller RX has more ground clearance so is an easier target.

Having said that we've seen vids of cats being removed from CT's using a jack in broad day light #brazen

Parts now often use sealed bearings that are deemed replaceable rather than serviceable these days.

However I was very surprised when I replaced my rear toe rods the ball joints had grease nipples on 'em

These were sourced from Rockauto so maybe many parts stateside still come with old skool grease nipples?

I can also vouch for Tony Banks ss system, i had mid and rear sections and it does not drone.

The TB system has just enough noise to tell you what the engine is doing. 

An OEM zoorst on my vehicle was too quiet and felt odd.

My old system was rotten, due to age, salted roads.

A quick search of related threads on here suggests yours will be an AGM Battery of 45Ah capacity;

Toyota often sell comparable batteries much cheaper than Lexus and ^ thread shows part# 28800-YZZPD - online these retail around £100.

Lexus hybrids tend to be AGM style batteries, so first check this on your Battery and then order a compatible charger.
