  1. What reg? Have you looked in Parkers, etc.?
  2. The same stats also show that in instances of accidents involving a motorcyclist and another vehicle, someting like 75% of these are caused by the other vehicle I'm not saying it's the fault of the bikers it's just shocking to hear that so many of them are killed.
  3. So do you think that what happened at the WTC was also a conspiracy?
  4. I thought the fact that all those people died was enough proof - or maybe they've all had their memories erased and moved to Canada. :duh: There was a documentary on Channel Five not so long ago that proved beyond any doubt that Flight 77 did hit the Pentagon. Depends on how simple or complicated your house is doesn't it? I'm a bit lost on the analogy to be honest. erm, the terrorists who crashed their planes into the WTC had been on the same training course. They seemed pretty competent... or are you saying that they were actually aiming for something else but they were so bad that they hit the WTC by mistake... or maybe they were FBI missiles too? or maybe it was all made by aliens at Area 51 on the same stage where they faked the moon landings?
  5. You should all have a look at the Snopes website. I feel sorry for all the people that died on that day, especially when I see all these conspiracy theories keep being bounced around the net.
  6. I'm not thinking of doing it, just wondered how they'd achieved it (and more to the point - why?!!)
  7. Did anyone see the last episode of The Green Wing last Friday on Channel 4? There was an IS200 in it very briefly. When it drove off only the foglights were on, not the side or main lights - how did they do that then?!! Clever TV camera trickery maybe? Oh and by the way, am I a bit sad for noticing this?
  8. Which is what UKPSM2 were saying back in September. I guess a few people were confusing GT4 with GTA:SA which is out in 2 days time (fingers crossed!)
  9. Bit of T-Cut and it'll be good as new :P
  10. Weird - I thought astral black (202) was one of the easiest colours to match. I guess if your local dealer has agreed that the colour doesn't match then they should pay for it being done again (preferably at a paintshop of your choice).
  11. It's certainly making me reconsider my next choice of car. I know it's not really a major problem with the car but I don't think I'd have an IS200 manual again. I'm a bit disappointed with the dealers attitude too, it's not really the sort of behaviour I was expecting from a "prestige car manufacturer".
  12. According to my local Lexus dealer, this is a "feature" of the IS200 I think you'll see the same problem mentioned quite a few times on here! My IS200 does this too, mostly if I try to change up too quickly and the car is cold. If you wait a couple of seconds before engaging second (I assume this is to let the revs drop) then you don't get the clunk. Of course if you're in a hurry, going uphill, etc. then you can't avoid it.
  13. Thats cute - me likeee! I've always thought the ps2 was a bit ugly looking. The new shape is a big improvement.
  14. Does the S3 have four wheel drive as standard or is it an option? I used to have a Seat Leon Cupra for a while, a nice car but it seemed to suffer from wheel spin and understeer quite a lot. I think the S3, A3 1.8T, one of the high end Golfs, a Skoda, and the Seat Cupra all share a lot of parts (all built by VAG).
  15. In my experience, contacting Lexus GB does make a big difference. I had "a difference of opinion" with my local dealer earlier this year, I didn't seem to be getting any joy at all from the sales guys so I raised it with Lexus. I got a call back from the head of the dealership later that same day saying that they'd do everything they could to sort it out. I'm guessing that Lexus keep an eye on all the dealers, if there's too many customer complaints then a dealer could possibly lose the franchise (I heard that this happened once to a Toyota dealer near me). Sometimes the dealers just need a little prodding.
  16. whats the time ? I make it 11:21, not far off lunchtime I suppose...
  17. yeah... and what's even more unfortunate is that it's a typical day in the office
  18. Cheers. Oh well, passed a minute or two anyway. Back to staring at the clock...
  19. So, I was just wondering, what do all the letters mean? IS = ? GS = ? LS = ? SC = ? RX = ? I guess it's pretty obvious that I'm a bit bored this morning.
  20. You're not suggesting that the sales chap might have been telling me porkies are you? :o :o He sounded pretty convincing (though it could have something to do with the fact that I'd mentioned I was thinking about getting a Merc next)
  21. I was chatting to a sales chap at my local Lexus dealer yesterday evening. He mentioned that the new IS will be available next September and will be available in the following forms.... ....wait for it.... Saloon (yeah, no surprises there!) Coupe (oh pleeeez let it be an M3 beater!!!) ...and.... A CONVERTIBLE!!!! B) Sales guy didn't have much info about this but he thought it would be something similar to the new BMW 3 series drop-top (ie. it'd be a metal roof a la the Merc CLK convertible - not a canvas roof like the Audi A4).
  22. All I can suggest is just kick up a right stink with Lexus UK (emails, phone calls, faxes, letters, etc). This seems the only way to get things sorted out when your dealer isn't interested.
  23. It's not that big a deal but it's something I noticed on the test drive. Not really a problem I suppose, just not what I was expecting from a "prestige" motor. Yep, it's very hit and miss. I'd have to admit that mine isn't really all that noticeable 95% of the time, and even when it "clunks" it's not really that big a deal. Maybe it's just that I don't like my passengers telling me I'm a bit rough with the car! :duh: I guess Lexus UK think that it's not that big a problem as it's not a safety risk or anything that would require a recall - it's just a bit disappointing that a manufacturer that prides itself of customer service and quality let something like this become an issue, and then try to fob off their customers with oil changes and "it's a characteristic of the car" stories. Funny, I'm thinking of a Merc next. I might look round for a CLK but it'll be next year at the earliest I think - I need plenty of time to prepare myself for how much my IS will have lost in value!! I'd have a Lexus again but I think I'd go for an IS300 or GS.
