The real Lexus problem is that they don't sale Gazole cars In france over 70 % of cars sold last year were gazole ones ! When i bought my Is 200, i've been told i was crazy to buy such a car. In france, we used to buy french cars. Japanese cars are more and more sold because people start to understand they are better made . Cheeky, Citroen BX's and Renault 4 are not common cars but i agree, in France, there are more old cars in France than in a lot of europeen countries ! Don't you see old Austin metro's or mini's in UK ? Renault 4 and citroen 2 CV are a part of our history ;) Yes i agree to about Frenchies who don't respect anything. In france, a two years old car has o lot of knocks on the doors. Mine comes from Luxembourg, is 4 years old and seems to be new ! Hope you enjoyed your holidays in France ......

I've got the same problem with my Is 200. I asked a friend of mine who's very good in car electricity and electronics and he can't do any thing. Lexus told me there is a way to get the safety off . It seems that the only way is to ask them to reprogram the nav sat eprom. The safety is on the speedo and if you do somehing on your own,there are risks that the nav is not correct ( because speed is not ). Next time i'll go to Lexus, i'll ask them to do it but they are not allowed to do it !!

Colin, is this part an official Lexus part ? If yes, could you give me the part reference ? Is 200 Sport model has never been sold in france so my Lexus dealer don't manage to find the ref. He told me that he was abble to get the part from the europeen spare parts warehouse but impossible without ref. Thanks

Wait and see. I haven't received an official negative answer from Lexus France. Only by phone. If they control what i said ( waranty extention in UK and Germany ), perhaps they will change their opinion ! Phonedrome, my stereo is not the same as the one shown in your link . On mine, the CD entry is under the screen. Is it possible to adapt this one ?

In France, Clim cleaner spray is sold by car-centers, hypermarkets or clim specialists. This is a spray to disinfect all the clim system. I don't know the marks you have in UK but sure Wynn's sale this kind of product.

Hy Pete, It is normal to "loose " power when you switch on your air-con. In general case the power decrease around 10-15 hp . I had the same problem concerning the stinky air smell just after you stop the air-con. It's just due to bacteries in your clim system. Take your pollen filter (just behind the glove box ) off and inject clim cleaner spray directly in the clim motor. After 5 mins, do the same thing in all the air system. You will get a nice smelly air. Hope this will help you.

I've already phoned to Lexus France. I have been answered that other countries can do whatever they want but waranty is not extended in France . They proposed me to change my stereo but against 1000-1500 Euros I told them that it was an european waranty and they had to do same thing everywhere but same answer : you got to pay ! I don't know how Lexus is considered in UK or germany but in france it is a luxury car so if you can buy a Lexus, you can also buy very expensive spare parts. If i manage to get an officail proof of this waranty extention, i'll force them to change my stereo.

Hello, I've read that, in GB, stereo waranty is extended to 60 months. Can someone give me an official Lexus proof of this extention ? In France, it has not been extended and they want me to pay a new one. Perhaps, with this proof, i'll manage to get it change under waranty . Regards Bruce

Hope you'll be lucky and find it in GB, but i know that, in France, is sold a "plastic bumpers reparing kit " I did the same thing to my car two years ago. You got to cut all around to make a hole that you repair with the kit which is composed of fiber and spécial solf resine . It takes a long time to do but after repainting, nothing can be seen. good luck ;)

Hello guys, I've just bought an IS 200 and i need few informations about it. - Is it possible to get the GPS safety off ? ( i can't enter a new destination while i'm driving. I must stop the car to do it.) - I very often have an " ERR 3 " when i enter a CD.Which sort of problem is it ?
