  1. I'd seen a video of those pens, I think AmmoNYC on YouTube. Not been able to find them in the UK, would be interested to hear how it works for you.
  2. Ouch! I had the exact same thing happen with my last car, an A45 AMG, the only new car I've ever owned.
  3. Maybe you're right, perhaps it is just the design of the nose collects more chips than my previous cars, or perhaps I notice them more because of the paint colour (my ISF was silver). Would be curious to know if anyone else with the red or blue paint has similar issues.
  4. Afternoon all, I've had my sonic red RC-F for just over a year now, and whilst the colour looks really special in the sun the paint seems incredibly soft. Perhaps it's just the trade-off for the amazing depth of colour Lexus seem to be able to get into their paint (photographs don't do justice to the cars in the metal), but it is a constant battle to keep the stone chips to a minimum. What do you guys do? In an ideal world I'd have bought the car from new and immediately clear bra'd the most prone areas, but as a lowly engineer we're inhabiting the used market sector of F ownership so it's a bit late for that! I've got a chipex kit which helps for the worst offenders on the nose, however with multi layer paint (red over metallic silver in this case) it's just not possible to get both colours layered into a chip, so they never quite match. * This post was in no way related to the *beep* who opened their door into my car at work today, despite my parking at the end of a row, in an extra wide bay, hard up against the far side from them. Obviously Suzuki swifts are wider than they look. 🤔
  5. No, I haven't seen the blue one about, but I tend to travel up and down the M5 to North Bristol more than driving into the centre on that road.
  6. Ran an ISF for 2.5yrs, didn't need a drop between services. 1yr into RCF ownership and same so far.....
  7. 38 yrs old, 9+ yrs no claims, £400 ish with direct line inc. protected NCD.
  8. Actually, I did ask. Not explicitly if it was a press car, but I asked about the previous keeper and was told it was a directors car. In fairness to my local dealer, they sourced it from another Lexus branch for me, so it may have been simply a case of it was known by the original dealer (Lexus UK tell me they would know) but not by my local one.
  9. Yes, as Martin says, it's only 3 years standard warranty so the extension for a few years was a bit of added peace of mind. The biggest issue for me was not necessarily that it had been one of the main press cars at launch, but rather that the history was not disclosed at purchase such that I could decide for myself.
  10. I inadvertently purchased an ex press RCF. Found out about it a few weeks later when I saw a repeat of Top Gear! Needless to say I wasn't best pleased given it had been described as a directors car by the Lexus dealer who sold it to me. Still, I negotiated 3 years extended warranty as a compromise. Had there have been more to choose from I would probably have given it back out of principle, but I didn't want to be without a car for a potentially extended period of time. That said, apart from some slightly excessive stone chips, the car has been faultless over the last year.
