  1. This one was up for sale a while back and I distinctly remember it because it was orange and modified, so potentially frequents the M25 now!
  2. How far do you want to go.... hello rabbit hole my old friend 😛 undertray(s) off, check for signs of leaks/ weeping, visually inspect bushes wheels off, deep clean of arches, suspension, brakes, underneath the car/ put some protection on/ look for any signs of rusting etc Exhaust off if you want, handbrake check, look at all areas again for rust, wire wheeling, adding protection where required. Brake lines check. Check of rear subframe components, bushes, wire wheel rust, add protection... you get the idea 😂 And a final 'buttoning up', see if you're missing any obvious clips/ nuts/ bolts/ trims etc
  3. I think you are over thinking this a bit too much, take it step by step, the cup of tea suggestion is what I always do if I am getting wound up! If you are going jump pack route, I can recommend a Nocco, they are nice and compact and great bits of kit. Bit extreme but if it gives you piece of mind, no problem. The boot lid wouldn't have to be open all the time, you can gently close it on the ctek wires no issues, been doing it for years. Sometimes if the battery is too low the ctek wouldn't do anything, you'd need to use an actual charger and then connect the conditioner after it has been charged, but hopefully the AA charge and the drive has given it enough juice.
  4. OEM is likely a panasonic, usually it has the panasonic sticker under the Lexus/ Toyota one. Good discussion in another thread about the Yuasa batteries, I would always recommend the Silver, never had any problems and fitted to several cars past and present.
  5. If you have FB, join the UK LS 400 430 460 group, great group overall, but there is a guy Scott who is breaking a 96 LS400. I've had a few bits off him before, he's a lovely guy and may have what you are looking for! 🙂
  6. I always buy and recommend the Yuasa Silvers, never had any problems and they seem to last forever, do well in cold weather and CAN go a while without needing car started or trickle charge. I try to run the car periodically or if I am going away, stick it on trickle. Ironically for the first time ever, my LS just clicked when I went to start it the other day, but it hadn't been started in forever, but jumped fine and started again today to shuffle things around. Perhaps some bad luck on your part, also depends how long that battery sat prior to being on the shelf at Halfords and last time it received charge. Having worked at Halfords at uni, I can confirm that.... Yuasa make Halfords batteries 😂
  7. Although Toyota has made performance marks before, Lexus is young and the IS F being the 'first', the German brands have history on their side. Plus as stated above, GS F is fairly inconspicuous, I can remember the crazy amount of times people would ask if mine was a hybrid... and the whole modding scene is more apparent in German cars and the aftermarket businesses are more focused in that area. The US and parts of Asia have some representation but it doesn't appear as much in Europe.
  8. Thanks, I had found the diagrams but wanted them in the flesh so to speak. I hear they are notoriously hard to source. I feel mine are broken as the panels are very tough to get any movement out of, so possible been bonded/ glued in place which gives me the fear!
  9. @Howplum maybe too late to ask, by chance do you have pictures of the trim clips that keep the lower mouldings onto the doors? May need to order some but they seem fairly thin on the ground so was hoping to find some matches online.
  10. Do a parts enquiry through LPD website, if you can get me part numbers, I can probably source them at trade prices for you 🙂
  11. It is defo mine, just checked the MOT history! Plz sir, if you on here, give me for cheap 🙂
  12. Still got the LS, but primarily a V70R. Maybe some monies available next year but can't stretch to the LFA 😛
  13. Think my GS F is back up for sale in Leicester, can't quite tell from the pics. OEM exhaust has been put back on by looks of it, but the mileage is close to what I sold it for at start of the year and advert says it has only covered 1k-ish miles since purchase. Very tempted... 😂
  14. @jamesggmarshall if you have any issue removing it, happy to organise me popping round to help, I run on tea 😉
  15. Btw depending where you are in Hampshire, would be more than happy to lend a hand sometime if required 🙂
  16. ebay/ fb marketplace/ fb owners groups - just make sure it is for the correct year 🙂 They are getting rarer to find I would say. The unit I purchased had a dead display and no backlighting for anything so was cheap and I only cared about using it for exploration/ learning. The dead backlighting/ radio lighting/ dead display are very common on these aging units so buying another one would be on the basis of proof that it fully functions. The backlighting is the easiest to fix if it were to only have that issue. Removing the unit from the car isn't difficult, once you've done it a few times, it becomes fairly automatic and there are plenty of guides online.
  17. I bought a spare radio and took it to bits to understand if i could fix the lighting problem on the unit in my car before potentially wasting time taking it out. As Colin said, they are a small bulb that require soldering back in/out. If you are not keen with a soldering iron, or wiling to be very patient, you can live without. I have not got round to tackling the radio on my actual car yet but the dismantling of the unit itself really isn't terrible. Take pictures or label the screws as they come out. I stuck mine into a piece of polystyrene. I will likely have a go over this winter if my wife permits the office to become a work station 😛
  18. Just ask the question when you go to see it, can't hurt and hopefully they'll just confirm that they knew what they were doing as they'll likely have a book time that comes with instruction. Plus once you have the confirmation, if there are any problems you've had their word and it has atleast been to a dealer rather than independent/ other.
  19. Yes, I believe someone on the FB group had this exact issue and was unaware that the 'height control system' needed to be disabled. Also watched a rebuild channel put an RS6 on a 4 post lift without disabling the air ride. Fun to watch, not so much when you're in that position!
  20. Hey gang, our current Bridgestone Blizzaks are just about out of life. I purchased them from a forum member on here and they've served us well. Before I go on the hunt through the various tyres sites, is anyone selling winter tyres? After 225/60/18, I already have spare wheels, so tyres only please. You can reply to this thread or pm me. I would be willing to travel a reasonable distance from Hampshire or meet half way etc. TIA.
