  1. I've just sold my RCF so my advice is make sure it's got full lexus service history. It was the question they all asked when I was ringing dealers.
  2. Thank you everyone for your kind comments. I'll still look in the forum from time to time. Tim
  3. For health reasons I've had to sell the RCF. If anyone wants info on my car LO16 RZY then feel free to drop me a line, or BIGRAT knows the car quite well also. I may be back, loved the short ownership of the car, and this forum. Tim
  4. I've heard of a few engine failures with the VXR8's, be careful.
  5. Sorry I can't contribute. I don't let mine out in the rain.
  6. You bad driver, looks like you've scuffed the front bumper
  7. Maybe they've added a "launch control" Easy way to get the 0-60 time down.
  8. Let's watch this space. My view, In a few years time I reckon you just wont be able to buy new cars like this, 5.0cc V8 monstosities with high C02 which make a nice noise. So although they may dip a bit in the near future I can see them firming up afterwards. I feel we are very lucky to be living at this point in time. We have some truly great cars available for us, sporty, noisy, naughty, gas guzzling monsters that make us smile. = fun Fast forward 10 years and I reckon new cars will be mostly electric in some way, quiet, governed speed, and power restricted unless you pay a huge tax for the privilege of owning one. Do I feel lucky?? Oh yes.
  9. Hi Paul, I didn't watch it through but it hasn't been re entered so either sold or withdrawn.
  10. The engine makes a very aggressive growl on acceleration, it sounds very naughty through tunnels and between buildings, by far the stand out feature of the car. The handling, I never really pushed it hard, sports cars are now wasted on me really. But what is incredible is it's composure over rough road surfaces. Accelerate over a rough surface in many cars and the traction control cuts the power. The TT keeps the power on and just adjusts it to another wheel, or this is how it feels. You could just floor the car coming out of a turning in the wet and it'd just sort it out giving you some power whilst managing wheel spin, incredibly easy to drive. I guess if a Police officer asked me which car I'd recommend as a pursuit car then it'd have to be a quattro Audi as I think they'd keep up with anything over normal roads/surfaces. To some people this ability and composure could be boring I guess, but I had much admiration for what it could do, and without fuss, or expertise. But it went after a year as it didn't feel special, I found the interior quality low rent even though mags say it's good. And the Audi dealers, truly shocking. I'll never buy a new Audi ever again due to the dealers which is a shame as I do miss the TT's soundtrack, I could own a used RS3 saloon in the future but I wont be buying from an Audi dealer. I did have a good experience with Stafford Audi years ago when I bought an Audi A1 once, after 3 attempts with other dealers who lied, didn't prep, or tried to mislead me. Sorry for the little rant, but the dealers really did spoil my ownership of what is a really great car. Lexus, and Skoda dealers really have been a breath of fresh air for me, proper and honest so far.
  11. You're very welcome. The M4 is an incredible car, as was my last motor, the TTRS, both at the top of their game, the noise of the 5 pot TT made me giggle every time I drove it. But your concern is very real, my TT just blended in with all the others, it never felt special. No one was ever standing there admiring it when I returned to the car park, only one person commented on the car in a whole year of ownership. One of my friends even asked if it was Jills car lol Maybe rent one for a week, see how you feel?
  12. Beautiful car Please don't chop it in for an M4 The M4 may be a better drivers car but don't forget the rarity of your RCF I'd love to stick a picture on here but sadly mine's not a carbon so doesn't qualify
  13. Nice, but not amazing. Why didn't they go a bit more futuristic like the i8?
  14. Luckily our Rcf's are pretty rare so this motor hopefully wont attract the thieves. If it was a black M4 it'd be likely that someones black M4 would be stolen to provide the parts.
  15. My local Toyota dealer called me this week as I registered my interest a while ago. He said they'll be taking deposits next month but I wont be able to price, or spec, until January. That seemed a bit odd to me. Who would deposit a car they don't know about? Anyhow, I don't think it'll tempt me out of the RCF anymore. I've read somewhere the Supra will be about 50k and have 340bhp, weigh 1500kgs, do 0-60mph in 4.7 secs. I expected the new Supra would be more like 70k and a lot more hardcore. I don't think this should be named the Supra.
  16. I normally change my toy car every April, but at the moment I can't think what I'd change the Rcf for. So I may go another year with it. But my shortlist is :- Cayman 981 GTS in blue or grey. R8 V10+ if I can con the missus out of more of her savings lol. Or chuck 10k at the Rcf for a supercharger if I'm feeling very brave.
  17. Thanks for this thread chaps. I wondered what the exact differences were but was afraid to ask.
  18. A super charger? It's on my mind but I'm not brave enough.
  19. Deep pockets required for repairs/servicing? Or are the newer ones better?
  20. When I was having the Rcf serviced I had a long look at the LC they had in the showroom. Lovely thing and I could see some nice touches. But came to the conclusion it wasn't worth double the price I'd paid for the Rcf.
