  1. You had me at hello... ...the advert had me hooked the moment I saw it in the weekend glossies. Not sure a better advert has been written for a sports car since (except for the Saab 900 turbo advert - that was pure genius).
  2. That is interesting...if you want ear porn, this is the job I was working on with a mate of mine at the end of last year:
  3. Bagsy first in the cue when you ‘get bored’ of it! fantastic work!
  4. Sadly this sort of logic doesn’t carry with some members!
  5. I know it’s spoilt and unnecessary, but I love the car so much - I just had to buy another one. This one is for ‘er-indoors’. Very low mileage and it will stay that way! Pictures to follow.
  6. Do you live this way? If you are we’ve talked about trying to organise a southern get together at some point, I’m in Cobham - it would be good to mobilise some southern shandies at some point...
  7. Really well. Quite a lot of interested observers. One ex-ISF owner whose blue ISF is now for sale through Lexus Edinburgh or Glasgow? He said he used to be a forum member. Most other people didn’t know what it was; didn’t know it was a V8; didn’t know it was quick; everyone thought it was pretty amazing...even compared to the multi-colour change, iridescent, holographic 370z parked alongside me!!! Top tip for next time, arrive after 7.30 and you’ll get on the track, the early bird catches the pits...which is cool, but not as good as being on track. Guy from Lexus UK was nice, getting a lot of interest in the LFA (obviously), which was trickling over to the LC500’s which were slightly eclipsing the RCF’s.
  8. Now for some general Japanese goodness...have to say I’m only really interested in the weird stuff!
  9. This one? https://www.autostradacars.com/used-cars/somerset-lexus-is-f-2976/
  10. @B1RMA it was this model I was talking about: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201809270919436 you’re right - there are loads of 600’s, but the post facelift are like hens teeth...thought they would be expensive to run, but £3k for a service?! @Big Rat that exhaust note though!
  11. How did you find the CL? It’s a scratch I’ve wanted to itch ever since it came out...I’ve test driven a few and decided on the perfect car was going to be a post facelift CL600 (I have a bit of an irrational dislike of AMG and my logic is if you’re going to spend that much on petrol - you may as well make it a v12!!!) , but they are even more rare than the CL65 I think... i’d be really interested to know what living with it was like?
  12. Tom’s do a Carbon ish one. Makes the rear look quite aggressive - I really like it. I’ll find the link. https://www.tomsracing.co.jp/sv/products/car/typedetailseng.php?carID=1233&typeID=2372
  13. I’m going and my car is on the track! https://www.goodwood.com/sports/motorsport/breakfast-club/ Tickets are free, but I think it’s a good idea to register rather than just turning up. Hopefully see some of you there, otherwise I’ll send photos of my freshly valeted F and any other Japanese treats on Sunday.
  14. I don’t know what drives that kind of attitude...I’ve done loads of sales jobs in the past and I’ve always taken the approach that someone who has taken the time to turn up in person at a shop (or dealership) is looking for a reason not to buy a product...rather than a reason to buy a product. Sure there are tyre kickers and time wasters, but beware the ones on the phone, not the ones who turn up in person...the ones who turn up in person will buy one day - trick is to make them feel welcome enough that they advocate for you and recommend others to come in and buy, many time wasters will be the ‘informed Friend’ who vicariously purchase through their friends and family who have the funds. When someone has taken the trouble to come to a dealership they are 7 or 8 tenths away from making a purchase, so remove the last two tenths. Explain you can’t make a deal on the price, but find other perks to offer - my local BMW dealership is offering free valeting every Saturday to any new car buyer...doesn’t cost them anything, the car cleaners are there anyway...or the old chestnuts of servicing and warranty. If these don’t work, turn the lack of a discount into a virtue - explain that Lexus is all about certainty and transparency, that unlike the others - Lexus isn’t about ‘doing a deal’ and that removing all the haggling out of a purchase makes for a more relaxed buying experience...yadder yadder yadder
  15. Welcome to the club...As a member of the F-family for the last 5 months or so, the charm of that Jekyll and Hyde character does not wear out! Enjoy!
  16. @Big Rat did you use the term ‘twixt’ more than once in your last post?! I must have misread the question, as I thought you meant at what angle of incline would an RCF theoretically run out of grip - I’m sure that someone would be able to work this out...something to do with the surface area of the driven wheels twixt the incline of the slope twixt the weight of the car...
  17. Please could you take a photo of your car that you would like us to match to. I will happily take exactly the same photo for you to compare against...otherwise I have no idea what you want from me (probably me being dense). T
