  1. You missed my point. I paid premium for a Lexus. Toyota has the same level of reliability with much lower cost. Of course I would expect that every single detail in a Lexus was perfect. I wouldn't care much if the same happened in a Toyota as my standards would be lower. 😉
  2. I still drive a Lexus so... When I pay premium I like perfection, otherwise I would have bought a Toyota...
  3. q Indeed this is a very crappy system from Lexus. BMW is way ahead on this and some other small stuff like the parking sensor sound synced with the entertainment system sound... it's so stupid to have the parking sound always at same level...
  4. Hi there. I moved in August from an 2011 330d Coupé to the Lexus IS300h. The car has a very good drive, silent, etc. but it's not for car enthusiast. I really can't compare the pleasure of driving that BMW with this one. Actually my main driver to change to Lexus was maintenance costs (road tax, insurance, etc), try to help the little I can the environment and speeding... 😐 Got 5 points on my license so I had to change. One other thing to take into consideration is that actually despite the Lexus easy services they are very expensive and it's not easy to find proper mechanics for Lexus. I had very good Lithuanian garage here and they serviced my BMW perfectly! (of course this makes less sense for new cars as I bet BMW charges more for services) Apart from that I'm happy with Lexus and probably you are better served there in the UK than I'm in Ireland...here the main dealer is a complete crap! In regards to the foot operated parking, as I did with BMW I don't use the hand/foot brake...I just park the car in P and that's it!
  5. Thank you all. The trick of turning off the timer worked perfectly... Cheers, Bruno
  6. Thanks for the info...didn't know that and as I always put them on low level from start I woudn't know if they have the timer on or off then...I'll try that next time! Thanks for the tip!
  7. I'll try that of the timer next time I'm in the car...I believe mine is without the timer now anyway as it doesn't go off after 30 min driving...
  8. From which year is your car? I'm starting to be quite disappointed with Lexus as I see a lot of bugs like this corrected in following years without updating the previous versions...
  9. If I leave it on level 1 is not logical to go back to level 3 when I start the car again...my old beemer would just keep the setting as it should...
  10. That's exactly my problem...the maximum level is insanely hot...
  11. Hi all, Does anyone have this "problem"? Basically if I don't turn off the seat heating when I turn on the car next time the heating starts on maximum (level 3), even if I turn the car off with heating on level 1. It's quite annoying as I don't enjoy maximum level and so this always catches me on surprise when I feel the heat. Thanks, Bruno
  12. Nor Ireland... I really don't understand Lexus strategy...
  13. I've also ordered the travel bag and put it inside the battery compartment in the booth.
  14. I bought this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B079LZJ8GK/ref=pe_3187911_189395841_TE_dp_2 I've read some reviews and came to the conclusion that is more than enough for an IS300h. Never tried it yet though.
  15. I don't think anyone should spend money in a battery if not strictly necessary. What I did was I bought a portable car jump starter (27GBP with travel box) and have it charged in the battery compartment of the car. If one day battery voltage is not enough to start the car I'll use this and only then spend money in a new battery.
  16. The one I have works properly. I've changed some setting already with Techstream v13. Unit conversion is empty with both v12 and v13 though...
  17. Lexus in Ireland just recommended a shop that might be able to help. Here, the main dealer doesn't even know or have the means to program clusters when they need to be changed in cars so they send it to this shop. Let's see how it goes. Additionally, funny thing is that today I tried the Techstream to connect to IS300h and the info of my car in Techstream appears in Kms 🙂: Unfortunately it's quite limited as I can't see any options under Unit conversion... 😞
  18. Hi everyone, Need some help here. Does anyone used Techstream in an IS300h? First of all, when connecting the car, model is not automatically loaded in Techstream. I have to chose 3 additional optiones: 1. IS300h model 2. year version (-1508) 3. radar cruise/others. Then I see no options under Unit Conversion or PSD & PBD operation. Someone has experience with this? Thanks, Bruno
  19. It will not be easy to identify any health and safety issue to the fact that the odometer is in miles...unfortunately...
  20. Unfortunately I'm so disappointed with Lexus dealer that I'm almost sure they will not be able to help and I'll have to keep my car with odometer in miles...
  21. Thanks for your comment. I've a service booked for 10th of October and I'll check this again with the Lexus. Additionally I'll ring Lexus Tech support in the UK to see if they can come up with a solution. I would say that the solution would be something like reprogramming the cluster, but Lexus should be equipped to do this...
  22. I had that on my 2006 volkswagen. BMW has individual readouts by default for sometime now (at least 2010 in 3 Series). It's really a shame that in a car of this class we have to guess which tyre is having issues if it's not fully flat... It's even worse noticing that US "version" has this by default since 2013.
  23. The 2015 models also don't have it as I asked someone here in this forum with a 152 car about that after watching this video: It looks like Lexus uses different parts all over the world as the video sounds like from America. Lexus quality is impressive but it's quite a disappointment in these small things, like equipping 2014 versions without ability to change the odometer units.
