    i work in the construction industry [joinery] i now run my own buisness when i started out which seems a long time ago qualifications were everything, these days i think people are looking for experience over qualifications, as an employer i would always give a job to somebody who has lets say 3 years experience rather than somebody who has been at college for 3 years to gain a qualfication. i have got 17 staff and would say that only 4 of them have got any qualifications in joinery and these are the oldest members of staff

    hi i had a problem with the windows, i came out and found all my windows half open,at the time i didnt know that if you press and hold the open button on the fob it opens the windows,i took it into the dealer for a check and they couldn't find anything wrong although they are aware of the same thing happening to other owners, it looks like i must have caught the button in my pocket as it hasn't happened again.

    swfcdan Posted Today, 09:50 AM seems like they have cocked up with the new IS, i dont think they have cocked up at all, in fact i would say they have improved from the origanal is which i had from new for 4 years, before changing to the new is 220d 2 weeks ago. it seem the new early Is did have a few isolated cases based on the number of complaints with rattles but from my own experience with a 2007 car everything seems ok so far

    i have a new 2007 model is 220d had it nearly two weeks and no squeks or rattles.

    yes you can have it disabled the dealers can do it,but it will disable both the opening and closing options.

    i took car into lexus on saturday and it appears to be ok, they have got a list of customers that this has happened to,which they send to the manufacturer. they aren't 100% sure that in all cases that its just catching the button in your pocket that causes the windows to open, as they think that in some cases its interference from radio signals from police stations/ fire stations.

    i have spoken to lexus who say that they have had similar reports of this happening,it may be that i did catch the button in my pocket to cause the windows to open but you would have thought that if you dont open the doors within a set time that they would close?. i have got to take the car in on saturday for a check and they will inform lexus of the problem as they have had similar reports

    i parked my car in the car park at work this morning and 2 hours later i was told that alll the windows were open,when i went out all the windows were half way down?,i know that i didnt put them down as it was freezing this morning so i wouldn't have opened all of them. i am lucky its a secure car park. anybody else no of this happening i only picked the car up last week. i am waiting for lexus to ring back with an answer

    i have just p/x my is 200 se 02 plate with 63000 miles for a new is 220d and got £8500 from lexus, the car is now on there forecourt for £10,000

    hi scott, i put in my order the same as you about a week ago and was told delivery would be up to 8 weeks, i only got mine quicker as they told me that a customer had ordered the same car but had problems ect with his finance,so i got his car and he will have to wait. sorry you have got to wait but it will be worth it

    a 2006 car has the boot release and fuel cap release above one another the 2007 car has them side by side

    After only 1 week wait i picked up my new is 220 d on saturday, its every bit as good as my old is 200 and looks fantastic in black. it is a 2007 car as i checked the position of the switches [ thanks for the tip jambo] I did ask about the issues with mpg and was told that all the new 2007 cars had been sorted out to give better mpg?

    i know what you mean about the discount, i always ask for one and always get a discount on parts and labour of around 15% can anyone tell me what the warn 0% means in the bottom left hand corner under my name

    thanks for the advice Jambo, i was told that the car had just arrived on the boat from japan and was delivered to them yesterday and that they weren't expecting it until next week, so i presummed it would be a 2007 car.i shall look at the switches when i pick it up but i dont think i would be able to do anything about it if it is a 2006 car?

    i found out that the car was for a customer who hasnt sorted out the finance, so its his car that iam getting,its the same colour [astral black] and same interior which is lucky he will have to wait 8 weeks now for my car if he sorts out his finance

    i am thinking of subscribing to gold membership and wondered what savings you get such as service cost ect, and do they apply at all lexus dealerships? i use lexus sheffield. do you also save on insurance

    i test drove the is 220 d on saturday 11/11/06 and put in my order straight away, i was told that delivery would be upto 8 weeks. i got a phone call today the 15/11/06 to say my car had arrived and i can collect on saturday, not bad at all, just sad to see the back of my current is 200se
