  1. got rear ended on the m1 on friday, i was surprised how little damage was caused to my bumper the other guys car came of alot worse, there must be an iron bar behind the bumper, picked up my new car today from accident exchange and my car is in the garage
  2. its a manual seat, there are no bolts ect to tighten up so they believe its a design fault so far
  3. iam currently having problems with the front seats of my is 220d, the seat base moves up and down when you stop and start or go over a bump, its been into the dealers twice but without the problem being resolved, its back in next week for a couple of days to try to find the cause. i have been told by the lexus centre that iam not the first for this to happen to and the problem occurs around 10,000 miles, they dont know if its a design issue with the seats or a manufacturing fault, anybody else had or having this problem?
  4. having had the old is 200 and now the new is220d, i can say that iam not as pleased with the new is as the old one, i never had a problem with my old is, but the new one has had at least 4 visits to the dealer and another one next week due to a seat problem which next week will be the third attempt to find the problem.
  5. the low 30's is as good as it gets around town, my trip computer shows i get around 30/31 mpg i have had the ecu update which did nothing to improve mpg.
  6. went into lexus sheffield on monday and they had one in the car park
  7. i had supa gaurd on my first lexus but i didnt pay the £300 lexus wanted to charge me, i had a word with the guy on the pitch who was washing the cars, he charged me £20
  8. when my old is got rear ended i got my hire car from accident exchange, the cost per day was over £200, as previously said this is not what the insurers will pay out its probably at least half of this amount,
  9. i had my is 220d serviced last week, i was told my pads were 20% worn after 10,000 miles but my discs had a wear lip starting to form, i was told that they would probably change the dics at the next service
  10. i had my 10,000 first service yesterday on my is 220 d which with my loc discount cost £174

    M1 Junc 37

is 220D twin exhaust pipes on a deisel and blacked out rear windows on the M1 got off at junc 37,on the 21/07/07
  12. i have e- mailed lexus GB about the convertable model, i was told its currently doing the testing process and they anticipate the launch the middle of 2008,
  13. i phoned my dealer yesterday after sending 2 e-mails and getting no reply after a week to try to get my car booked in for a couple of minor problems to get sorted, i asked if i could get my 5th injector changed to help sort out the poor mpg iam getting, i was told that at the moment they are only offering this if your car breaks down, and that there is a backlog of 5th injectors on order. so do i hope i break down? or suffer with poor economy
  14. i have just changed to A plan , saved around £200 for the same policy with my previos insurers,
  15. it depends on what it is for, usually if you are paying the balance on finance you normally get a cooling off period of around 10 days
  16. i came along brightside lane this morning which was one of the worst affected areas, there were 50+ cars and vans which had been dragged along in the floods just totally smashed up bedsides the road.
  17. i know its not anything new but i had mine nicked over the last week, i have seen the ones that you use an allen key to get off, but a freind had these and they just pulled out the whole valve leaving 4 flat tyres.i have been told halfords do a set of 4 for around £3?
  18. anybody tried colour magic? i was looking at it in halfords, just wondered if its worh getting some as my bonnet is covered in white chips, and fine scratches from next doors cat.
  19. i work in chesterfield and live in wincobank [sheffield] it took me 5 hours to get home yesterday. we could see from our window the raf helicopters lifting people of the roofs of buildigs which were collapsing.i have never seen anything like it.
  20. as previously said, it depends on where the puncture was, if you do go for a new tyre make sure that they put a potenza on, i had a new one from kwik fit and they put on a turenza thinking that i wouldnt notice, i took 2 weeks and a lot of phone calls to get it changed
  21. if i was given the chance again i wouldnt have gone for black,i like the artic pearl one
  22. congratulations, and welcome to the club.I also went for the black which looks fantastic when its clean, but its a pain trying to keep it that way
  23. just renewed my insurance and gone with a plan, my is 220d cost me £445. my current insurers wanted £650 for the same policy with mma as the insurance provider, which is the same policy i got from a plan. i would advise any body to give them a try when your policy is up for renewal
  24. im the same as Jambo, i bought a 220d with my own money, i feel i was slightly mis sold the car regarding mpg. i had a is 250 for 3/4 weeks whilst my old is 200 was in for repairs, i was getting around 28/29 mpg from the is 250, when i decided to upgrade to the new is i was given the impression that the deisel would return mid 40s in mpg although it would require a little running in to acheive this, i have had the car 8 months and it has 8000 miles on the clock and has had the ecu re map and iam only getting 29/30 mpg. i wish i had gone for the petrol.
