  1. Hello, today was our collection day to pick up the NX300h from Lexus Leicester to London and we drove back really impressed with this car. We are so happy with this purchase! Amazing car!! We love the way it drives on the motorway and city. It is really a good car and I can see the things that have been done to it compare to my GS 450h. The car does have enough power and it has a tendency to cruise at the same speed for a while even if you release the accelerator (our Tiguan did not do this, it would decrease speed instantly) - so long driving distances, this is perfect and very relaxing. The adapting cruise control is a very good thing to have when in lots of traffic on motorway. The air con is brilliant, provide cool air like wind blowing from time to time unlike Tiguan making the air con constant blowing. There are some small touches that show how much they thought through like stopping the air con for back passengers (brilliant idea!). We cannot wait to drive luxurious miles with this car - even our 2 young kids (8 and 6) did not complain during the entire trip back home...They were super happy. Please see some photos of this car parked next to our GS450h...
  2. Thanks. We just got home driving the NX300h from Lexus Leicester to London and the driving was much better than I expected. On the motorway, this car does have enough punch and it is powerful enough. I love the way it cruising on the motorway, like if you press the accelerator to 70mph and release the foot, the car will cruise itself within this speed for some time before it slows down - our Tiguan didn't do this, you release the accelerator pedal and the speed decreases quite quickly. So this makes the driving so much more pleasurable. The adaptive cruise control is brilliant too. and the way the air con passes the cold air is another feature that feels like the winds blows in the cars periodically rather than constant - so again quite a pleasure feeling this. We are extremely happy with it! and so our 2 kids who did not complain once during the whole journey.
  3. Fantastic! My wife is very excited too, as (finally) she came to realise how different the drive feels compare to her Tiguan (and she had it for 9 years!). She is not the kind to change cars often but due to ULEZ, she was compelled to change the car and at first, she was not so keen with the NX (I was!) but when she test drove it, she immediately sensed how quiet the car is and how comfortable the drive and super smooth driving on the road. She immediately connected with it and said: "let's buy it".
  4. 0-60 in 6 seconds that is truly impressive. My GS450h officially does 5.9s so it shows how much progress that Lexus has done. German cars should be worried, the quality is so much more superior than most German cars in this segment...
  5. Thanks! We cannot wait to get into the NX, which will be our family car for all future trips. It will fit nicely next to my GS 450h in our parking drive...
  6. Here is the official release from Lexus, for anyone interested:
  7. Thanks for sharing this. Very interesting and exciting time for Lexus and customers. It is a big step offering more choices. The new look of this car is a mix between the UX and IS (2021 model that is sadly not on sale in Europe). At last, what a good idea to introduce the 450h!! This engine powertrain with hybrid works beautifully well together. I think this SUV should even be quicker than the RX. All excited and more so that we are going to collect our NX300h today!
  8. Does anyone have a pdf Brochure that specifically gives all the specs for Luxury segment 2017? I would love to have one. The only brochure I could find is the most recent NX model, which does not mention Luxury... Thanks in advance!
  9. Thank you Andy for clarifying these! My wife and I are very excited with this purchase.
  10. Thank you Piers! We are counting the days to collect it...
  11. Hi John, Thank you for sharing this wonderful motor! You will absolutely love driving this beast. This is going to be a long relationship you will develop with this car (as I do with mine). No other cars really do give you this premium feel and you will surely enjoy thousands of miles with it. You chose the top premium spec as well. So everything to love this car even more!! Well done.
  12. Hello everyone, I am super excited to reveal our new purchase of NX300h Luxury 2017 (blue), which will be a new addition Lexus to our parking drive with my GS450h. My wife owns a Tiguan VW 2009 (2.0 TDI) and because of ULEZ introduction in London (which will be expanding inside North & South Circular zone from end Oct 2021). My wife is not the kind of person who likes changing cars and although she loves her Tiguan, has come to the point of making a decision to replace it with a newer vehicle. At first, she wanted a newer Tiguan (I was not too keen to stay with VW after diesel scandal) or an Audi Q5 (nice car but not Lexus with all reliability) but I gave her some additional options to try the Hybrid cars. We looked at Toyota RAV4 (new shape) but they are quite expensive and still lack the luxury feel inside for my liking and she agreed. She then saw a beautiful used Lexus NX300h Luxury 2017 blue colour AWD, rear camera parking, adaptive cruise control, accident detection warning etc. (with black leather - she hates other colours and prefers black) in Lexus dealership in Leicester. So we drove there yesterday and test drove it and she immediately saw how smooth and comfortable the car is and she loves it (and I too!), so it was no brainer, we finally bought it! The car will be ready for pick up in the next few days and we cannot wait to collect it and drive it back home to make it complete with our GS450h. Questions, I wanted to ask: Is it worth having the CATLOCK to secure the catalytic converter? Or is this car difficult for thieves to steal it on the NX300h? Can we retrofit a software to have the phone (android and iPhone) working as sat nav? If not, no big deal but just wanted to ask. Thank you!
  13. I wonder who is the lucky person purchasing the black F sport GS450h in Coventry Lexus dealership as I put an offer last week and was negotiating with the sales person but someone else purchased the same vehicle last Sunday with apparently another sales person, so it is now gone...
  14. Another brilliant post here. Thank you. The more I read your personal experiences, the more I prefer going for GS 450h...
  15. Brilliant thinking here! Thanks for sharing your experience with your GS250! I agree with your finding that the GS is overall a better built quality car than the ES...
  16. I still like it a lot and exterior black looks stunning and even intimidating! I wish the interior was red or cream leather...
  17. Thanks. Before I finally decide, I will need to try the ES for sure. There is another GS450h Sport metallic colour with red leather seats that is also available: https://usedcars.lexus.co.uk/en/used-lexus/Lexus/GS450h/35-F-Sport-jjckzt2 This is making choices a bit more difficult now. But all good to see!!
  18. You have done your research, I can see. The quality of the GS is outstanding all the buttons feels like they are there to last for ever. The leather is of premium quality and you notice it immediately. I have had a fair opportunity driving other courtesy rental cars last year and I was given a Range Rover sport new Hybrid, new Jaguar F-Pace and I did not like how these cars drive. Too abrupt and raw in terms of gear ratio changing gears (even on automatic) and the seats were not as comfy and that is when I realise that it was because I am driving my GS, which is of premium quality in terms of comfort and driving experience. Driving other cars, made me appreciate how special this GS is. I think I may stick with GS go for a newer version. I still want to drive the ES to try it out (get it out of my chest) and satisfy myself that it will not be the one I go for or...
  19. Interesting report. This is the thing, the black interior is too dark to make it special.
  20. Thanks. It is a lovely car, but I would prefer the sports trim. https://usedcars.lexus.co.uk/en/used-lexus/Lexus/Gs-Saloon/450h-35-F-Sport-4dr-Auto-vdcedfl Same one advertised on Lexus used car search. It is a nice car, shame that the leather is all black, which makes the interior look so bland... I am thinking of getting a newer GS 450h at the moment but searching still... and they aren't that many left.
  21. Thanks for your post. Very interesting what you just said. This now makes me think all over again... I love my GS 450h and it is a brilliant car to drive. I think losing the power it has, might be the biggest decision to think over...
