  1. Looking at the picture - the Catalytic Convertor shouldn't really be getting hit either should it?
  2. Thanks for the replies. To answer a few questions: The alloys are 18" with an offset of 38. AltezzaScott has/had the same alloys with the same offset and when I PM'd him he said he never had a problem. I really don't think its my front tyres scraping - noise seems to come from the back or the centre. Could be the back I suppose. I do get the noise if I try to go fast round a corner and the car rolls slightly to one side. Maybe I need the arches rolled then? Gord - you have a PM - I know where boddingtons brewery is - opposite Victoria Station/MEN area. I appreciate your offer. PS Just had a look at the picture of the car I posted - "damn it looks nice - very photogenic" ;) Just wish it would now move as fast as it looks! lol :D
  3. IT GETS WORSE!! I took the car to Bradford (hilly!) to do some shopping and had one passenger in the back seat (plus had a spare tye in the boot), and everytime their was a dip in the road or I had to turn a corner I could hear a pretty loud scrape -seemed to be comming from either corner or directly underneath . I am getting seriously worried now! I HAVE A WORRYING THOUGHT! When I got the car lowered - the garage cut about 1cm off some "stoppers" from the front /back of the car. They said that if they didn't the car wouldn't drop properly. Could this have caused it?? I have some pics of the car side-on so that you can see if has something has gone horribly wrong!! The strange child in the car is my little brother!! :D LOL It doesn't look like the tyres are being scrapped at all. I am getting sad because I see other IS owners throwing their car around corners - wish I could join them!
  4. Try Tesco? I am with them and I have added 18" alloys, Sports Grill, Gold Badges and they have not changed the price of the premium at all. Good Luck :)
  5. Hi guys, I recently got my car lowered on Eibach springs which I think offer a ride even better then the standard springs when used with my 18" alloys. The problem I have is that when I am reversing I can sometime hear a scrapping sound comming from the car. Worried about this I took the car to my local garage and they put it on a rap and checked underneath for any scrapes. Apparently I am scrapping the botton of my catalytic convertor! He showed me the marks where it had been scraped! Since the cat is "solid" he couldn't push it up abit - now I don't want to have to pay to have a new cat in a few years time with all this scrapping so what can I do? I only have a 30mm drop and so far no problems with speed bumps. Only time I really get the noise is: --> reversing out of my driveway --> going at speed when their are sudden dips in the road --> sometimes at very low speeds i.e in a car park I can hear a veryvery slight scrapping noise too . I got the tracking checked and they said it was "Spot-on" i have seen the IS200 tracking information on the knowledgabase - does this apply to the IS200 when it is lowered and has bigger wheels too? Thanks
  6. UPDATE! Got the alloys and tyres ftted last Saturday, along with Eibach Springs (30mm) drop. Everything seems fine so far, no major problems to report, except that I get a vibration through the steering wheel at 50mph. Going to get the tyres balanced again (I read on the forums that the IS is very sensitive to balancing). I was worried when I first got the car that something was scrapping/rubbing - but the noise has gone now (springs settling?) - my local mechanic has had a drive in the car and says it was me being paroniod! ;) Ride is smoother but I do intend to change the tyres very soon - they were part-worns and they are not really that great after all. Thinking that I'll run them until the springs have settled, then get the tracking/full wheel geometry done and get new tyres at the same time. Hope this post helps others thinking of getting 18's! PS If it EVER stops raining/getting dark by 3pm I'll try to post some pictures! :D
  7. Mate, I bought these: They look exactly the same as the Lexus OEM ones, but have TRD written on them :D and were easy to fit (EVEN FOR ME). http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...ssPageName=WDVW Only cost $26! But the guy wants $29 for postage!! However they do look good. Just need a footrest now!
  8. Just been rethinking: Wouldn't a talking alarm mean people looking at your car even MORE everytime it makes a noise! Will look into the Clifford systems, but like I said I don't really want to spend £££'s having to replace the whole Lexus Alarm system which I like anyway.
  9. Hi, Really :tsktsk: ed of today. After having my car lowered, nice 18" Toora alloys put on I proudly took my car to work and parked in the car park. After work I went to the car and noticed that my tyre value caps (gold) had been nicked and that my rear gold lexus badge had also been broken off. :tsktsk: :tsktsk: :tsktsk: :tsktsk: I have a spare badge at home and I can always get the tyre values again. What worries me is what else someone could have done to the car in that time! I wish that I could get a car alarm that electricutes anyone that gets close to the car after one warning! Really ****** off! What can I do to prevent someone touching my car? I have seen these talking alarms that you can get - "Warning warning step away from the vehicle or the alarm will sound" - my uncle has one on his car. It sounds crap - but if it does the job I don't mind. I don't want to change the Lexus alarm system since I know its good - but anyone know of one of these talking alarms that can be added so that if anyone gets close to the car it warns them to back off? Thanks, (A depressed) Anees
  10. I use Tom Tom 3 on my PDA and think its the BEST software available. Wish it was available on PC so I could use it for a carputer I have planned! :( Tom Tom Go is very similar. Check out the Review: http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/tomtom-go.php
  11. I also have exactly the same problem. I will try changing the air settings too!
  12. got the kit from: www.upauto.co.uk (Full Altezza Bodykit) The bodyshops I went to all said that it was just a Fibreglass mould of another kit - basically the all said it would be a pain in the **** to fit, poor quality and that I was better off returning it. The company were good with the retun however - just had to pay cost of postage back to them - didn't charge a restocking fee or anything.
  13. I also bought these as part of the Altezza full bodykit package. I took the kit to 7 - 8 bodyshops and most said that the fit was not really very good. Definetely no holes for the sideskirts to mount to. I ended up returning the full kit as I thought the skirts were not subtle enough when I saw them on the car and the front lip was lower then I expected. The rear bumper skirt I did like however. I'd say look at around £200 - £250 to have them painted and fitted. Good Luck mate!
  14. UPDATE: After visiting MCR and few other bodyshops I have (based on their advice) decided to return the Bodykit I bought. The front lip (which was lower then I expected) does partially cover one of the front fog lights and the skirts were not a great fit. Instead of getting the bodykit fitted, I have got the bonnet, front wings, front bumper, rear bumper, rear wings and driver side rear door resprayed due to scratches, a small dent and stone chips. I have also got a spoiler and the lexus sports grill fitted and painted. This all cost me £730 + Vat. I could have got the job done for £650 - but I knew that the place I had chosen would do a fantastic job - the cheaper place I was not too sure about. Plus I can claim the VAT back through my business. I am due to collect the car on Monday, but I popped in today to check how its going and the car is looking immaculate - couldn't spot a scratch/mark on it! Car looked brand new! Cannot wait to pick it up, put on my new Toora Platinum T950 18" alloys and Eibach Springs and take some nice pictures to add to my LOC garage! Thanks for the help and advice guys its appreciated! IS PM WORKING? I am trying to send a PM to Whiteman, but when I check my sent PM folder the PM I sent isn't there.
  15. 17" -30psi 18" - around 33psi Thats what I have gathered anyway. :)
  16. Couldn't resist! eBay Bargain! :D Got 5 BRAND NEW and 1 kerbed Toora 18" for £460!! I pray that the offset (38) is ok with the Eibach Springs! Thanks for the advice guys.
  17. lol.......shows how much I know!
  18. 30mm Eibatchs have been ordered too. Can a spacer be used incase I have problems?
  19. lol, forgot to mention that I am talking about 18" wheels. I've got some nice Continental (I like continental tyres - quiet) SportContact 2 225/40/18 to go with them.
  20. Hi guys, I am planning on getting some nice Toora Plat 5's like AltezzaScot and a few other guys on here. I have seen them on the Rochford Tyres website. Fitment I am planning to get is: 5x114 et38 This means they have an Offset of 38 right? I thought that the IS had to have atleast 45 as its offset? But then how have guys like AltezzaScot and others managed to fit them? (As you can tell I don't know much about alloys - I'm all confused! :yack: ) Please help Anees
  21. Thanks Aido! Your the man! You seem to know everything! :D PM'd Global Grafix!
  22. Congratulations on the car :) Unfortunetly, the IS200 Head Unit DOES NOT have Aux in, so you can not just connect your Ipod straight into your Lexus. But you can use an FM Modulator to get the sound straight into your car - however the sound quality is not really all that great :( As for parking sensors, this place offers a nationwide service: http://www.parking-sensor.co.uk/quanan-veh...-or-at-work.htm Good Luck! :)
