I don't think so mate. I bought the car after it had had its 60K service (as a conditon of sale). I had to go down to Lexus Exeter to pick it up. When I drove it back i didn't notice this problem. It seems to be a relatively recent issue - last few weeks.

Thanks for the reply Colin. The car has 62K on the clock. It was serviced on 60K by Lexus. I will read how to reset the ECU and try that. I have also picked up a K & N Filter from eBay for £39.10 inc delivery. They have had good reviews so I thought may as well give it a go!

Guys, This little problem has been bugging me for a few weeks. Whenever I put my foot to the foor the car hesitates and stutters until I reach the magic 4500rpm where it stutters some more before whoooose the power is released. It is not smooth or controlled power delivery. I hope I am being descriptive enough. Anyone know how to solve this problem? I have done a search and the results I found concerned Supercharged cars but not the normal IS. I know **** all about cars but I am thinking it could be the air filter - but the car has had a service just 2000 miles ago so it shouldn't be it should it? I want to try some injector cleaner (STP Total Fuel System Cleaner) and see if that does the trick. I might get a K&N Filter for it - hopefully that can sort it out. Would resetting the ECU help? Any ideas or am I on the right track?

Obviously it is great for Lexus if they get more sales. But......... Thing is I don't want the IS Diesal to become really common by becomming a reps car - like the cheaper BMWs and VWs. It should still have an "aura" that makes it feel unqiue and special.

Yeah but Gord - with your more "mature" age you have lots of knowledge that us young'uns don't have! :D - plus you don't have the pressure of a damn insurance company restricting what you do. Your only as old as you feel.!

Just noticed your car is on LPG. What kind of equivalent MPG do you get? Do you notice a decrease in power?

Hi, Thanks for the reply. I've read all about the Aux-in adapter by SteveAudioX - unfortunetly its not available yet. I have seen the knowledgebase/workshop article about adding RCA to the head unit. Not quite sure what that is. Since the SE/Sport already have an amp - can that be replaced with one with an aux-in option or am I just talking rubbish?

Forgot to mention that that the car has NO Factory Sat Nav - I have other plans in that department.

Hi, I have an IS200 SE (early 2001) and want a way of getting the sound from my laptop (with Audigy 2 USB Soundcard) to play through the speakers. I know the IS doesn't have aux-in, so: I have tried: 1) FM Transmitter - crap 2) FM Modulator - still naff 3) Tape Adapter (PodGear) - ok but I only seem to get sound from one side and I don't like it wirring around when no sound is being played on the laptop - gets annoying. So I have read that a few members have added an amp to the IS. Is it possible to get an amp with aux-in/some way of getting quality sound from my USB soundcard into the lexus sound system? Was thinking I could pick a cheap one up from eBay with aux-in if possible. I know absolutely nothing about car audio systems (well except how to turn the radio on! :D) so please explain it in simple terms. Thanks

Just been sent this at work today: You are advised that the London Underground has reported some problems with gangs of criminals targeting cash machines. The pictures below were taken at Hammersmith District & Piccadilly station on 21.10.04. The first picture details how the Barclays cash machine normally looks. The criminals have been fitting portable card readers to the machines which clone the card details. The second picture details how the cash machine looks after the cloning device has been fitted with double sided tape. Oxford has already experienced some similar incidents in the past 6 months. If you become aware that a device has been fitted to a cash machine, please contact the police immediately. Other customers should be discouraged from using the machine until the arrival of the police. These devices tend to be fitted to machines that are away from banking premises, such as the underground, outside supermarkets, petrol stations etc; this way the scam is unlikely to be discovered by banking staff. They are also in place for short periods of time, evenings, nights and at weekends. NORMAL MACHINE DEVICE IN PLACE Please note that false device is cleverly constructed and sprayed the same colour as the machine to which it is fixed, it does not look immediately false or out of place. The machine will operate perfectly in that you will get your card back and the cash, balance etc that you have ordered. What the criminals get are your card details and in some circumstances your pin number, the rest you can imagine………….! Be careful everyone!

Jensi, Sorry for the delay. I will get you the part number when I get home from work. But I did pay: Footrest £40 Clutch + Brake Pedal £3 Each I didn't get the accelerator Pedal because it was £80 and I actually have a TRD pedal that looks very similar to the Lexus one that I am using.

As the others say: Mozilla, SpyBot Search & Destroy, AdAware and your pretty much covered! Infact I use Mozilla (on both PC and Mac) more then IE6. Only time I use IE6 is when I HAVE to with some sites not working properly on Mozilla.

Aido, I have tried that mate - the thing is I usually use the Laptop in the car (obviously while parked)/on the move so using a mouse is not ideal. I also like how on a PC Laptop I can double tap the Touch Pad to double click - which I cannot do on a Mac. I'm just too lazy to CTL + click! Glad your happy with your Mac.

Oh No! Another lost to the dark side! :P I don't want to start the Macs Vs PCs debate but I use both Macs and PCs and I just cannot get used to the Mac. I hate the fact that their is no right click (have to press the ctl key to get the right click menu), Macs just seem to be abit unresponsive and slow at times. However they do have some positives such as looking cool and their wireless Airport system works very well. Each to their own.
