  1. Sorry guys just realised that’s the wrong exhaust I got! This is the one I actually ended up buying
  2. I don’t think it’s too droney it’s definitely more pronounced and louder in the cabin but as an f sport vehicle I think this was always the case comparing it to my mums SE-L
  3. Bit late but I managed to finally get my new exhaust fitted from eBay, for the most part the fitter was very pleased with it as it was a perfect fit however t did need two clamps as it didn’t come with one! Bit sportier and sounds a bit meaner so can’t complain and looks good, got that placebo effect where the car feels faster but that could just be me! linked the exhaust I ended up with, figured chrome tips looks more OEM
  4. Can't speak to costs but I think the general rule of thumb is to use OEM parts, usually Denso. They last the longest and have the most reliability and cheaper aftermarket parts can be a false economy with a Lexus
  5. My mum had a 2009 IS250C before it suffered a hit and run and was written off! Car was wonderful and behaved just like a regular IS250 (I have a 2010 F sport in comparison). It was a bit heavier and slightly more sluggish compared to the traditional IS so MPG naturally suffers a little bit. Very practical convertible though with some decent space for passengers in the back and the hard top convertible mechanism is lovely.
  6. Apologies mate someone else was having this same predicament and realised I never got back to you! My garage passed it without issue with no mention of the VLAND headlights. Hopefully you managed to sort this one way or the other
  7. Hi Stephen, I had the same predicament on this before I purchased my own VLAND headlights. On a very technical basis it will not pass an MOT due to the DRL being run at a fixed current and not dimming down when the headlights are turned on. However, it does very much depend on the garage you take it to as they can take a pragmatic or laid back approach and not fail it for this reason. The garage I took it to is a Lexus specialist and they were quite happy to pass my car last year September with the VLAND headlights without issue. The legal way around this is to wire up the DRL to a different fuse or a relay and this would allow them to shut off when the low beams are turned on. This video linked below is a good example.
  8. The funny thing is that this exact thing has happened to me, unfortunately mine broke off altogether and my rear bumper took some damage. I did see this on eBay from the same seller and have put it in my watch list but I do need to get around to sorting this. I may drop him a message and see what he says about availability.
  9. Managed to fill it up, added half my screen wash bottle halfway 1.25l roughly (eyeballed it) and managed to fill just over 3 full bottles of water (1l each time) so it must be between 4 and 5l full capacity as it’s bordering overflowing , thanks for the input guys
  10. That’s helpful cheers mate! Going to try diluting it and get at least 6l in
  11. Hi guys ive had a look in the owners manual and the interwebs and it’s not clear what the capacity for the screen wash tank is. Does anyone know? I seemingly fill this up endlessly and it never seems to last long enough!
  12. I have a MK2 IS250 F Sport and the with the original tyres the ride was so bad that going over a curb bashed my finger on the headlight stalk and it started bleeding non stop! Swapping to ECO Contact6 Continentals has made the ride far more tolerable. its still a little rough but its a fine balance between sportiness and comfort and it also maximises MPG which is nice
  13. Its definitely worth considering a manual IS250 then, but an F Sport Auto IS250 would be a suitable contender as the gearbox is pretty bullet proof and you have paddle shifters for exciting driving and cheaper to tax. These cars are great the only issue is the MPG but you get peace of mind as the trade off (as long as you keep up with those yearly oil changes!)
  14. Personally I'd cut your losses and get rid of the 220d, even if you hadn't put in the bad diesel these cars are notoriously unreliable (as far as lexus standards) and the poor manual gearbox and economy hardly makes it worth it (although I noticed you're not in the UK and you have the sport which I heard had a better gearbox). The IS250 on the other hand achieves very comparable economy (I get 28 to 32 local driving and 43mpg on the motorway), the auto gearbox is silky smooth (there is a manual also) and petrol is cheaper and it will give you the rock solid reliability and refinement you'd expect from a Lexus. Just my two pence though!
  15. Im based in Nottingham Steve and I've fitted the teyes and various other head units myself, if youre interested in getting some assistance with it drop me a message mate
  16. Sorry this happened to you mate! Such a great car I'm very surprised you were targeted!
  17. That’s very good to know John cheers for the heads up, I recently did my oil change and I fitted a Fumoto Oil Drain Valve for easier oil changes in the future and to prevent me having to take the bolt off and on and reduce the chance or cross threading.
  18. My car is fast approaching 150k so this is something I may try to attempt myself, atleast the diff oil. If you can get these back on is it worth putting anti seize onto the bolts before you put them back on to ensure they don't seize up in the future?
  19. Makes sense, in any case it’s always worth sending your units pictures and connections so these sellers always provide you with the right equipment so we can avoid the hassle of wrong equipment haha
  20. No worries mate https://teyes.uk/products/lexus-is250-xe20-2005-2013?_pos=2&_sid=cecd7d601&_ss=r
  21. With the TEYES they provide you everything you need but you just have to specify what vehicle you have. For example a non NAVI vehicle you should be buying the 10 inch system and if you have a navi vehicle you should buy the 9 inch system. the fibre optic box is only there to make the 10 inch system compatible with NAVI vehicles and while it does work It does introduce some problems so I wouldn’t recommend it. If you have a facelifted NAVI vehicle (white infotainment screen instead of black) you opt for A model variant instead of the B variant as the B variant is pre facelift as they give you the corresponding compatible harnesses depending on your choice. I’ve shown some photos to help, I purchased mine from the Teyes UK website
  22. Ordinarily you’d be right Linas but the Chinese eBay sellers or manufacturers never have thorough and clear descriptions, myself and @ahmed24 have fitted these types of units and as he said it’s basically a processing unit used for NAVI vehicles as the “fibre optic box” they’ve described is used to retain all the main features of the NAVI system. Best example I can give is the XTRONS unit I purchased had its own harness and cables but I was told to buy an additional “fibre optic box” which came with an additional harness to support my NAVI vehicle. This has been tested in both my vehicle (mark Levinson navi 2010 f sport) and my mums IS250C with a navi non ML audio system. Both required the additional fibre optic box and worked as expected. In any case I’d say the simplest way to look at it is if you have a non Navi system buy 10 andorid screen for the IS and if you have a navi system buy the 9 inch android screens as they account for navi vehicles additional features mark Levinson audio or otherwise
  23. If you’re buying an android unit you will need the fibre optic box as you have a NAVI unit, I had a mark Levinson system from 2010 and to fit my XTRONS unit you needed the fibre optic box. However my recommended head unit to go with is the TEYES CC3 as a fellow LOC has it and I’ve ordered one myself for my mums vehicle, seems To work the best and retains all stock features and works impressively well. Particularly as you car is facelifted these are more Problematic even with my XTRONS so I’d highly suggest the Teyes CC3 as it all works. Worth reading this thread and posts on it
  24. When I got my IS250 it came with BOSCH wipers and they were horrible and squeaky, I'd always stick with OEM Denso ones and you can get them from Euro Car Parts I believe. These will work with the IS250C as I got these for my mums car also
