I think all HSD Toyota/Lexus which have a joystick instead of a gear lever do have the reverse beep. In my Prius I found it useful when, being absent-minded, I had not realised I had put into reverse and the beep saved me from crashing the car into my house wall while parking.

No unfortunately the scratch is too deep and can't be simply polished out. It would need to be re-sprayed. I will keep it like this for now even if it bothers me.

As some have suggested mostly premium tyres I would like to ask Linas in particular if you would suggest Debica Presto UHP2 which are owned by Goodyear and probably made in the same factory but cost less.

I am just back from a body shop repair for cars. The guy said that it seems deep but he will try to polish it out. I will bring him the car on Monday.

Thank you for your replies. I will try tomorrow with my fingernail if I feel it. Some told me that given the straightness of the scratch it may have been an accident. I will find out if it can be fixed.

Unfortunately I just discovered a scratch on the rear bumper of my car. I hope it was accidental and not intentional. My wife says it could have been a trolley in the car park of Lidl or Aldi. Really unlucky: I have always been extremely careful in parking my car, but unfortunately it happened.

Welcome! I bought a 2008 GS450H 3 weeks ago and I am very happy with it.

After asking advice to a friend who has an identical GS like mine, I have decided to put the switch of the mirrors in the neutral position (so neither left nor right position is selected) and the mirrors stay always in the set position. They don't tilt down anymore while in reverse but I don't mind. I have also adjusted them to tilt down and set this in position 2, so if I need them to tilt down I press the button 2 and when I have parked I press the button 1 and so doing I have solved the issue.😜

Well at least I know there is nothing I can do about the reverse position and probably it is not only in my car that the mirrors do not go back to the set position. I don't know if it is worse in winter as I only have the car since the 26th December.

Just for curiosity: is the boot of the UX even smaller than the one of MK3 GS450H?

No, I did not. How do I do that please? I don't think I have found anything in the manual to set the tilted down position. Thank you

I have tried, now several times, to adjust the wing mirrors to the desired position and memorise that position with the dedicated buttons following the procedure described in the manual. Anyway it seems that after some time the mirrors do not hold that position especially after putting the gear into reverse (and they tilt down), but when I put the gear back into D or P they do not seem to go back to the original position. I will try to pay more attention to this aspect in order to find out when exactly they do not come back to the original position but I have already adjusted them several times. Thank you to who may have some ideas to solve this.

Hi Konstantinos and welcome. Just for curiosity have you also considered a hybrid Lexus model?

I am sorry to hear that you had to pay. Unfortunately in these cases it is often a matter of being lucky and find someone who is honest and admits his/her fault which is not common. I hope you will sort those remaining issues and enjoy the car again.

OT: Vlad how did end up with the fixing of your car?

I suppose that you refer to MK4 because MK3 like mine are much cheaper but I understand that Jensen is probably looking for something newer.

You could still look for a GS450H, save some money and have a fabulous saloon.

And certainly more reliable.

It seems to me strange that a 4.6cc V8 petrol has a better fuel consumption than a 5.0cc hybrid. As for quietness it depends if you like to have the engine switched off while queuing in the traffic and moving at low speed in electric or if you don't mind the engine running all the time. Personally I love the silence and saving some petrol.

Wise decision. I have waited nearly one year to find the GS450H that I wanted and in the top spec, so if you keep looking consistently your patience will be rewarded. Good luck.

I have never driven neither LS460 nor LS600H but if I had to choose I would pick LS600H simply because is hybrid and I love the smooth ride and moving in the silence at low speed. When you say that LS460 is more economical, do you refer to the price or fuel consumption? I would not be so sure about better fuel consumption compared to LS600H.

I have already opened this topic in the GS450H section of the forum and I am looking for help from owners of my same model or same generation: in my 2008 GS450H I am unable to use the voice commands: each time I press the button on the steering wheel for the voice commands, a voice message tells me that if I want to dial a number from the phone book I need to say: "dial by name". So I say it, and the voice message asks me to say the name. But when I say the name saved in the phone book, the voice message says: "name tag empty". I have looked in the manual but I have not found anything about saving a name tag while in the PDF manual saved in my laptop there's a procedure for saving a name tag, but it doesn't work. Does anybody know what I am doing wrong? Thank you

Unfortunately the procedure in the video is for newer models as in mine there is not the possibility to click on "options" from a contact and record a name tag. Thank you anyway.
