  1. I did a research on partfinder.ie (I live in Ireland) and these 4 below became available from car dismantlers in Ireland (3 have a GS450h and one in Co. Monaghan has a 2008 GS 300. You may try to ring or email them (click on details on the right side to see the contact details) and see if they have the parts you are looking for and if they ship to UK. They say they ship to all of Ireland so maybe also UK if needed. https://partfinder.ie/vehicles/LEXUS/GS450/2006_2012 As alternative, you can also contact the seller below which is selling a GS450H for parts in Dublin and see if he ships to UK. You need to register to make an enquiry. If you read the enquiries by other users somebody already asked for the shocks and the seller quoted 100 euros each, but you may ask what you need in particular and see what price he gives you. https://www.adverts.ie/cars-for-breaking/lexus-gs-450h/25246325
  2. I love MK3 GS450H and I don't like much the MK4 one. I think GS450H is roomier than IS300H even though the boot in both is not big compared to the dimensions of the rest of the car. Moreover the 3.5 cc V6 in the GS is much more powerful than 2.5cc in the IS300H.
  3. Hi Maverick and welcome. A GS or IS with ML is certainly worth it. I have been looking for a MK3 GS450H for months now but in Ireland there is really little choice. If I lived in England I would have bought one already. Personally I prefer GS450H rather than IS300H and in general I prefer hybrid than pure petrol.
  4. With all due respect, nothing compared to what we pay in Ireland especially for cars registered before 2008.
  5. But these are still reasonable rates for motor tax.
  6. It anyway does not make sense that a car which costs 72,900 euros pays only 280 euros and my 2004 Prius which is maybe worth 1,000 euros pays 413 euros and certainly does not pollute more than a 3.5cc engine. Motor tax should be based on emissions but also on the value of the car. Why a 2006 GS450H which costs 4,000 euros should pay 1,809 euros while it has the same emissions of a 2008/10 model and especially its value is much lower after 15 years? The second hand market in Ireland is full of cars with big engines and in excellent conditions with accessible prices but that nobody buys because of the ridiculous motor tax. Here below some examples: https://www.donedeal.ie/cars?year_to=2007&engine_from=3.5&price_to=8000
  7. For cars registered after 2008 is cheaper than for those registered before: as example a 2007 GS450H pays 1,809 euros while the same model in 2008 pays 790 euros. This is the absurdity of the Motor tax in Ireland: you can buy a 2006 GS 300 for 3,000 euros and pays 1,494 euros in Motor tax. Does it make sense? https://www.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/lexus-gs-300/29621750 On the other hand you can buy a 2019 RX450H for 72,900 euros and pays only 280 euro in Motor tax. No logic at all! https://www.carzone.ie/used-cars/lexus/rx450h/fpa/202109107230171?journey=Search
  8. I would try some alternatives to the original from Lexus but I do not know which particular model fits the NX.
  9. You may need to put LPG with such a mileage, but you would ruin her in my humble opinion.
  10. You have been lucky: it is really rare to find a car so well looked after with such a small mileage and one owner from new even though 20 year-old.
  11. If Lexus does not replace them under warranty I would consider the opinion of another mechanic/garage before spending £2,000.
  12. It looks very good and a great deal for the price. This one that you fitted from Ebay did it belong to another GS430 or another Lexus model?
  13. Hi Simon and welcome to the Club. So it did 10,500 miles in 7 years? Probably the owner did not bother about servicing it every year for only 1,500 miles a year. If the car runs well and MOT passed without problems I would not worry particularly. In my Prius I did the mileage service after 21 months since the last one because of low mileage.
  14. After reading it all and not understanding can somebody please explain what TVD is?
  15. Probably as I did not even know that I needed to refill 10 litres before trying to start.
  16. I have run out completely once with my Prius and used the plastic fuel container of 5 litres once. It started without problems at the first attempt.
  17. I would rather have the hybrid health check done before buying the car. If you are buying from a private you may ask him/her to carry out the hybrid check as a condition before buying it. In the worst case scenario if it was me, I would offer the seller to pay for the hybrid check (it should be no more than 60£) only if the car looks really good.
  18. I see. In Ireland the TV licence is mandatory if you own a TV no matter what you do with it.
  19. I would buy a Prius: reliable, comfortable, roomy, huge boot, low consumption.
  20. That was a real bargain if you consider what I can find in Ireland now for the same model: https://www.carzone.ie/search?make=Lexus&model=LS&model=LS600H
  21. I have never driven an IS300H and probably if I tried it would be fast for me. But this is simply because I usually drive a V2 Prius. I think Linas has explained why IS300H is slow compared to other competitors but probably IS300H owners disagree because for their needs and feelings the car is fast enough. If I ever manage to buy a GS450H (I am still looking for one) I would probably be shocked by the difference in performance with my Prius. Would the GS450H be considered a fast car? Surely for my needs and experience.
