  1. I bought a MK3 GS450H a year ago and I absolutely love it. Probably I have different expectations than Graham. The only aspect that I dislike is the fuel consumption but maybe I still have to learn to drive it properly as other members on this forum get better fuel consumption than me. My suggestion is to test drive it to see if you like it. There might be good MK3 models on sale on AT within a reasonable price.
  2. I am just back from the dealer: apparently they do not do the hybrid check separated from the service anymore. I do not know if it is just this dealer or all of them. I have been quoted 696 euros for the major service (in the first email they had written 650 euros). I forgot to mention that they already told me that they will give me a Yaris as courtesy car. I had hoped for a Lexus but anyway...
  3. Hi Toby, I think they could but maybe they don't want. In Cork the local Lexus and Toyota dealers belong to the same group i.e. Lehane Motors and the 2 brands share the same building even though with distinct logos and different showrooms and entrances but they have only one garage to service the cars so I suppose the same mechanics service both Toyota and Lexus models. I will try to go there in person tomorrow and I will ask them even though I don't think they will do it.
  4. In terms of reliability I think Hyundai and Kia are better than VW. My opinion.
  5. Update: the dealer replied that they are fully booked for services until the 13th January when they could service my car. At this point I suppose they are not going to guarantee the battery pack of my car from January 2023.
  6. Thank you for your thoughts. So am I right saying that as of today's date my car should still be covered by the warranty if they do the hybrid check by the end of the year?
  7. I have emailed my local Lexus dealer in Cork asking information for booking the full service with replacement of the spark plugs and I specifically asked whether they would carry out the hybrid health check of the battery pack and guarantee the battery for 1 year/15,000 kms and this below is their reply: "Hi Sergio, There is no option for service plan. Hybrid battery check I included in service but there is no warranty after 15 yrs or 225 000 km. Courtesy car is available. It is free. Only thing that needs to be done is insurance. You can transfer your insurance for that day, or you can buy insurance from us. It is €15 per day. Service with spark plugs is Full plus service. Price for that car for service like that is around €650. Service will take around 3 hrs. Service will include: During the Full + Service our Experienced Toyota Mechanics - conduct a Full Health check and Safety Service . The engine oil and oil filter, Air Filter, Spark Plugs are replaced. The Brake Fluid and the Cabin Filter is replaced with this service. - Your vehicle will also receive a free wash and a free vhc report Kind Regards, Blaz Galic Customer Service Advisor" I therefore replied as follows: "Hi Blaz, thank you for your reply. As for point 2 I was wondering if you do the battery health check by the end of this month my car would still be technically 14 years old, would it be eligible for the warranty of the battery pack? As for point 3 I can transfer my insurance temporarily to the courtesy car without problem, I only need the registration number. Thank you, Kind regards, Sergio Barrile" I am waiting for their reply. Any thoughts are welcome.
  8. England deserved to equalise at least and go to extra time and maybe penalties. They played much better than France in the second half. It's really pity to have missed that penalty. I hope that the final will be Argentina Vs Morocco.
  9. Marvelous colour!!! Congratulations!!!
  10. John a small OT for you: don't you suffer the extreme heat in summer there?
  11. Thank you for the informative review. It is nice to see that you are in love with your ES. I too think that the ES is superb in the front but it is missing something in the rear. Maybe it could have been done better. I am not completely sure but I think in my MK3 GS the outside temperature is always shown without pressing any button.
  12. I did a bet on England losing in the final against Argentina 😁. So come on against France!!!
  13. Does it mean that all other countries in the world (and they are the majority) where the driver sits on the left hand it is not safe for the passengers?
  14. Is it really so cheap? I pay 790 euros for my GS in Ireland because it was registered in 2008. If it had been registered before 2008 I would have paid 1,809 euros. 😡
  15. I have found these 2 types but I have not yet bought them: https://www.ebay.ie/itm/403313131752 https://www.ebay.ie/itm/352496073672
  16. I personally don't like to spend money on premium brand tyres, especially if I do a low mileage per year. I have read good reviews for Debica Presto UHP2: the brand is owned by Goodyear and they're produced in the same factory as Goodyear tyres and I have read with the same quality standards as Goodyear but for a lower price. For my next tyres I think I will choose Debica for my GS. My suggestion is to Google them and read the reviews unless you really prefer premium brand tyres.
  17. Hi Sergio and welcome from an homonym. Congratulations on the car even though I am not a fan of black.
  18. Welcome to Ireland Iain, I have not yet tried the Lexus dealer in Cork but being the same as Toyota I hope it will be a better experience than the one I had when I serviced my Prius.
  19. Make sure nobody is booking a flight for you as Herbs.😜
  20. Linas but what did disappoint you in the car? Performance? Fuel consumption?
  21. Congratulations Nick!!! I first saw the ES at the Paris car exhibition in October 2018 (I think it was just released on the market) and I fell in love. Unfortunately unaffordable for me so when I turned 50 last year I decided to look for a MK3 GS450H which I found last December after nearly one year active search. It seems that for our 50th birthday we all look for a big present.
