  1. I have found that an F Sport still rides better than a BMW M Sport. To make it softer you need a softer side wall. I found budget tyres helped the ride significantly but grip was compromised. Uniroyal Rainsport were good as a mid range tyre with a soft sidewall and still ver y good grip. Personally I like the stiff suspension and it grows on you!
  2. I was happy, it s difficult to sell privately, was it a bargain? i think they are looking for crazy money for them now tbh, still better value to be had in an is300h versus a bmw or audi equivalent
  3. Irish market is crazy, people are looking for silly money. I sold a 172 f sport last october privately, sold it for 18k euro, 2 callers, one guy looked at it and bought it. 116k miles, Lexus sh apart from last 2 were independent. Sorry I sold it!!
  4. There is a recall on the water pump In Ireland, I had it done FOC, quite common, I did have FLSH at the time.
  5. Water pumps are being replaced under warranty in Ireland on the is300h , I have no idea about the UK.
  6. Either way, super cars and best of luck to the original poster with his new vehicle.
  7. You have a certain amount of time before the engine cuts in Roy. Have you noticed it on your hybrid?
  8. Correct me if I am wrong but does the hybrid system not go through a warm up cycle that is independent of the state of charge of the battery? I am not talking about warming the engine. I thought that once you press the Start button you had a certain time to put it in electric before the warm up cycle starts. I am talking about the first start of the day. Can you please educate me? Thanks
  9. Totally normal, when the car starts it must warm up before it uses the hybrid battery. The warning you are getting is routine. You can however trick the car! When you start the car immediately press the ev mode and it will run off the battery at speeds less than 30kmh. If however you press the accelerator too hard and it comes out of ev mode it will not go back in until the car has warmed up.
  10. You will find the F Sport more supple in comparison.
  11. I have a 172 F Sport, I actually bought it 3 years ago off the same dealer as you are looking at now. I would buy the black one, these cars are bulletproof. I had 42k miles on mine when I bought it and now 120k miles. Not even a bulb has been changed. The black one is a really nice looking car and you get to keep 10k in your pocket. The differences in external styling are not noticeable on a black car. Actually the changes to the front bumper don't suit the colour white imo. The changes to the suspension are barely noticeable. The F Sport does ride a lot harder than the conventional model, just something to be aware of. Best of luck and after 3 years I am still in love with mine just as much as the first day I picked it up.
  12. Glad to hear all is good with the headgasket, I'm hoping to run mine to 400k miles, 101k at the moment, i have no problem replacing the hybrid battery when the time comes, hoping the rest will stand up to it, 2017 plate, hoping for another 10 years. Here is wishful thinking!! Do you service earlier than the 10k?
  13. Have you replaced the original Water pump yet? It is very common on the is300h, mine was leaking even though i couldn't see it, replaced it on advice and it solved the problem, that wouldn't explain your mpg however
  14. Is it worse in wet conditions? I had an issue where the rear tyres once below 3mm that would cause the car to weave slightly left and right in wet conditions on the motorway at higher speeds ie 70mph +
  15. Was it expensive to get the pads and discs done?
  16. Wow the dealer has been changing mine every 20k, good to know it can go longer
  17. What brands of tyres have you used over the course of your 230k? I am thinking of moving to budget tyres
  18. The 17 inch spacesaver will do the job if its the correct one,
  19. Thanks guys, I feel better about it now, I will service it myself
  20. Hi all I have a 2017 IS300h for 2 years now, it has 92000 miles and a full service history with Lexus. I plan to keep this car until its beyond repair, apart from the Hybrid battery warranty which may be a consideration as it is guaranteed till the cars 15th birthday is there any other reason why I shouldn't do the servicing myself if I stick to the service schedule. I am unfortunately not tech savy so will to look into that for future diagnostics if needed and possibly will bring it to lexus for the inverter coolant change. Am I missing anything here, my financial circumstances have changed for the worse since i bought the car so I can't afford the servicing, I don't want to sell the car.
  21. I was taking the driver out for a long time until I realised that the bag would fit with the driver but only one way. If you put the driver head on the drivers side the bag will fit with the driver but won't fit if put in the opposite way. Perhaps you have a 48 inch driver?!
  22. Update!! I ended up getting 13000 miles out of the tyres. Perhaps there was another 1000 left but the sidewall was damaged. I went with Kumho Ectsa Ps71 in 255/35/18 for the rear. 300 euro fitted. I needed something at short notice, let see how I get on!
  23. Good morning! I have 9500 miles done on the rear and I am at 3 mil now on Hankook Ventus. I don't drive the car hard. Is this par for the course or is there better alternatives out there for wear that are still capable in the wet? Am i looking for too much? Is this the way with rwd? What do you recommend?
