  1. Read a fair few reviews online and most that have done this conversion did not state any better MPG, I spose you would have to reprogram the computer to utilise it properly
  2. I have always been pretty fortunate with my fuel consumption I am very light footed and normally average at about 57mpg to 62mpg, however over the last few weeks its dropped a lot , down to 48mpg. is this due to the new fuels we all use or is it just a weather impact? Your thoughts are welcome
  3. got some bosch last week for £22 for a se on ebay, Pretty cheap
  4. Its an expensive option and normally entails changing the monitor, I have looked into extensively, Its a shame its not just a bolt on you can purchase as I prefer waze over the factory satnav
  5. I preferred the drive in the facelift over the older model and ended up buying the Advance, I will say it does not have as many gadgets as the Premier but its still a lovely car and has most of what I need. My only wish would be Apple car play but alas its not available on my model
  6. Toothpaste, always works with light scratches
  7. I use a family member who is a mechanic, I tend to steer clear of main dealers as the fella above mentioned I also Have buddies who work for reputable car brands including Lexus and all say the same as above. If its a low mileage service they just topped the oil up. filters normally left ect ect. I pay £150 for a interim and £250 for a full service. Not saying all dealers are doing bad services but I would rather spend a little less and guarantee the service I pay for.
  8. I thought as much, Thank you for the reply
  9. What is the life of the transmission oil in the CT? Thank you
  10. I drive Gillingham to Dartford everyday and back home to surrey on the weekends and I average 56-58mpg and sometimes if I am lazy on the accelerator I will get 62mpg
  11. Yup pretty much the case, like I said oil degradation has changed a lot over the years as most oils are synthetic, meaning they can handle higher temps and have a longer life span. manufacturers from Peugeot to BMW are starting to set a 24000 service intervals due to the particular oils they use. All that said if you feel as a owner your car needs fresh oil every 5k, that perfectly up to you but to say that if you plan to do over 100k you need to change oil every 5k is a bit misleading. The M25 is full of Prius's hurtling round with well over 300k on the clock and I cant imagine they are changing oil every 5k.
  12. I normally do 17k miles a year and its all commuting, I use a good oil and change oil every 12k miles, Due to the low revs when bumbling around a motorway oil degradation is minimal. A good modern oil should last a lot longer than 5k. Obviously this is totally down to the owner and can depend on your annual mileage, at 5k service intervals I would need 4 services a year. To the question, yes the ct is pretty much designed for commuting, its comfortable and smooth on a motorway and with careful driving you should get 55-58mpg (that's what I get) Cheers Darko
  13. Pretty sure its aluminium.
  14. I was lucky it was just one that was stuck as it could of turned into a costly situation, I have no problem spending money on my car but it really hurts replacing parts that don't need replacing
  15. So just a friendly warning to anyone who has metal dust caps like myself, This weekend I went to the tyre fitters to get 2 new front tyres for my CT, When they went to remove the tyre they noticed that the dust cap had fused to the thread and could not be removed, Long story short they had to cut it off which meant not only did I need a new valve but the tyre pressure sensor is connected to the valve and its one unit! I had to purchase a new valve and sensor unit. The fitter said that this happens more often than you would think and warned against metal dust caps, he said if I do insist in using them it might be worth putting a bit of copper grease on the thread to make sure it did not fuse. Cheers Darko
  16. The biggest issue with owning a car like this is that we all drive pretty steady as it sounds terrible when you don't,,, the downside is the engine never really gets the revs up and this can cause things to get gunked/coked up. It does not hurt to give it a bit of an Italian tune up every now and then (Thrash it a bit)
  17. Thank you much appreciated Darko
  18. I seem to have cracked the small piece of glass that the indicator sits in on the wing mirror, can that part be removed or is it a whole new wing mirror hope you can help darko
  19. I come down a lengthy stretch of the A2 every day that is pretty much down hill and my battery always show full at the end of it,
  20. I thought as much, would have been nice to have had more than one page of presets . Thank you
  21. Hi This is a easy question for those that know. How many presets can be saved on the DAB ? I have one page but can you save as many as you want ? Thank you Darko My car is a 2014 advance (screen and jog wheel)
  22. I sprayed a bit of viacal on them and it seemed to sort it, Must have been a bit of limescale
  23. it has made a difference for me, Like you I was at about 45-50 now I am back on E5 I am back to 55, Its winter so it will not be as good as the summer. I was also getting little judders when idling which was odd, I am a motorway driver and cover 70miles a day so my car normally idles well.
  24. plenty of articles on line stating the same issue from E10 fuel so might not be good to just dismiss it.
  25. I have a 2014 and I replaced the battery before xmas, Maybe its the sweet spot for a replacement 7/8 years lol
