  1. Ive been using manual in the way you suggest, but it only occurs with the engine under quite heavy load at higher revs (it doesn’t really occur with a light throttle) so you have to accelerate pretty hard to hear it, i.e a combination of both high revs and high throttle. An autobahn would be handy so you could sustain a high throttle position at high revs in a higher gear which would maintain the sound long enough to analyse the source of the noise….you’d need to be be going very fast. In the lower gears with the amount of throttle needed to hear it you accelerate too quickly…it sounds only for an instant as it passes through the relevant rpm. Thinking about it though, using a rolling road/dyno would probably be ideal….and keep my license intact! I might look into that. So far Ive noticed it in Sport+ (and possibly Sport), ie when driving the car quite hard.👍🏼
  2. My GSF all of a sudden has started a very loud buzzing sound under heavy acceleration as the revs climb. It seems to come from the satnav area but it is difficult to analyse as the revs have to be quite high with the engine under considerable load (in other words when ‘giving it some’!) so you’d be reaching VERY high speeds in order to sustain the sound - it accelerates too quickly through the offending rev range in the lower gears for the to be present for more than a second or two. Anyone else had similar? Thanks
  3. I was wondering if it was someone from the forum. . Where are you based...are you going to the event tomorrow? Your car looked mint btw
  4. Count me in with my GSF. I managed to wangle my 7 day break to stay in the Cotswolds (don't think I managed to convince my wife that the F event had no influence on choice of area!). When I get home this evening I will trawl through the thread to find details of the venue and arrangements.
  5. Thanks...was pretty certain that was the case, but because he's normally really clued up it put doubt in my mind. Glad it's not the case... wouldn't want the extra complexity 👍🏼
  6. Oh sorry missed it! 🙄 What do you make of the rear wheel steering references?
  7. Interesting take on GSF by Toyota/Lexus master tech. Pretty sure the GSF does not have rear wheel steering though as stated in the video?
  8. May look at them myself. That is a very good price indeed! 👍🏼
  9. To my mind, £450 is pretty steep...almost to the point of it seeming they're trying to deter you from getting it done. I have asked Lexus Cambridge for a quote to have it done when in for it's 6/60k year service in late July. I hope they come back with something better than that!
  10. Im meant to be going on holiday starting that weekend, but I'm going to suggest the Cotswolds to the missus and if that gets established, subsequently slip in suggesting the museum/F gathering for a 'day out'! Wish me luck! 😱
  11. Oxford is good for me (Peterborough based). Im from Newcastle and visit family so may be able to do a North one too! Suggest doing a doodle poll or similar to get a date that suits as many as possible.
  12. I should have bought them from them a while back (dealer first flagged my pads at 4mm 18 months ago) as they've gone up £94 in that time. Do you know if we get a club discount with them?
  13. Thanks for all your replies and thoughts. Performance wise, I'm pretty certain you wouldn't improve (or need to improve) on the original pads. The downside is dust...a softer pad will grip better and provide better performance, at the expense of wear and dust. As some of you mentioned, there will always be some dust, but some will be worse than others. The originals are pretty pricey too and some on the forum have used EBC alternatives and have given good feedback on them. Ive been considering the fact I'll probably never venture onto the track so perhaps the extra cost and dust aren't worth the extra few percent braking performance. The pads (Tom's) in the video seem a good compromise, but having a tendency to stick with OEM everything, I'll probably end up going down that road. 👍🏼
  14. Anyone tried Tom Racing Pads (presuming you can get them here (locally or mailed)? Thanks
  15. Just seen this very sad news. Extremely knowledgeable chap, dedicated to helping people in this group. Will be a big miss. Condolences to the family. RIP John
  16. Thanks…I just checked the Japfest website (I’m presuming that is the Fast Cars one?) and although they have tickets to attend on foot, it states that it is no longer possible to take a vehicle inside.
  17. Looks like I slept in. Club tickets sold out😭
  18. @Redsteve Thanks Steve that's really useful. I have had my eye out for a good Indy for my other car (2007 Honda Civic) and perhaps my wife's Renault Captur (and possibly the GSF when too old for Relax warranty). I frequently visit a close friend's in West Walton so it would be pretty convenient to drop a car in when there. All the best mate.
  19. @Redsteve Thanks for getting back Steve. I must have just missed the fact there was a dealer in Lynn. I've always considered my only options from Peterborough to be Cambridge and Leicester. Which Indy do you use btw? Recently had accident damage to my wife's car at Kings Lynn Vehicle Repairs and was impressed with the quality of their work. Ive stuck with dealer so far, not least to keep the Relax warranty going but may reconsider in the future.
  20. Ive had a GSF for 3 years and an RX450h for 3 years prior to that and have always used Lexus Cambridge servicing. Ive just become aware that there is a Lexus dealer in Kings Lynn which is more or less the same distance, to travel as Cambridge (40 miles ish each way - I live in Peterborough). I often visit a Friend who lives enroute to Kings Lynn, so it could be convenient to tie a visit in with a service. Does anyone have any experience with Kings Lynn they could give feedback on? Also, how long has it been there as I'm surprised I never became aware sooner? Thanks
  21. Had both letter and an email. Rang Lexus Cambridge who said part is on back order for at least a month. Told them I'm over 40 miles away so not in a hurry and would rather wait until it's in for a service in late July anyway. Tbh they couldn't get me off the phone quick in enough...maybe too late in the day (4.55pm) when I rang. 😂
