  1. I’m a customer of Lexus Edinburgh and my experience has been pretty mixed tbh. I did business with them a few years back and had 2 GS back to back which I really enjoyed owning. The service at that time was first class and I had no complaints whosoever. I placed an order for a new 450h+ in October last year and have had a few hiccups along the way. Probably not worth going into detail, but let’s just say customer service was not a patch on 10 years ago. I talked to the service dept a couple of weeks ago to arrange to bring my car in for the 2 recall checks and to check out an annoying “door not shut” notification on the app. I asked for a loan car and was told “we don’t do that”, then I asked if they could give me a lift to and from a local hotel. (I live a bit from them and am staying overnight) Again I was told they don’t do that due to COVID. The guy then went on to say that there is a bus stop right outside the showroom. As you might imagine I was a bit taken aback by this, but eventually we agreed a loan car would be made available. To my mind this is a long way short of what I would consider good customer service and certainly far short of service I had received a few years back. Anyway, I’m taking the car in later today and subject to how things go I may end up talking to their customer service manager. Having said all that I am enjoying my new car and am not going to let the dealers shortcomings spoil that!
  2. If u don’t charge the battery will drop to around 30% and the car will operate as a normal hybrid. ie it will harvest power when it can and use it as necessary but not going below the 30% level. There is also an option to manually set the Car in charge mode and the ICE will drive the car and recharge the battery.
  3. Has anyone had this issue fixed yet. I’ve been playing email ping pong with Lexus customer support and pretty much all they are asking me to do is remove car from app then reconnect. It fails every time! My profile is there in the system I can see it, but whenever I leave the car then come back it always loads up “guest” profile and completely ignores mine. im headed to dealer in a couple of weeks for the recall jobs, so I guess I’ll register it as a fault and leave it to them. They have just replied to my last email. Now telling me that I can link my profile with a key. Not sure what that has got to do with using my smartphone to link profile???
  4. I’m using the Hive app with my Alfen charger. So far it has been ok. I’d say it is limited in terms of the scheduling. I can only select one of the 3 off peak periods I have with my electric tariff. Only had charger a week so I’ll stick with it for now.
  5. I had mine installed yesterday. 2 engineers arrived and carried it out. They installed a matte:e box and connected via that so not through my consumer unit. Tidy installation all done in 5 hours. No white light, just green when connected and blue when charging. I tried to use Alfen Myeve app but was unable to connect. I got no charging station detected message. Documentation appears contradictory with one part saying wireless connection and another saying needs to be wired. Has anyone used Myeve and how have they connected?? I did eventually use hive app and connected to it no problem, but functionality seems a little limited even more limited than Lexus link for scheduling.
  6. All scheduled for install. They offered slots couple of weeks out, but I’m still travelling so it’s going to be 1st June
  7. I have only paid the deposit at present, that was £49 and was part of the acceptance of quote. I actually requested tethered cable on my original application so was expecting to have to pay the £86.
  8. Looks like things are moving at long last. I received an email from BG with basic details of installation and quote. I’d asked for tethered cable so I’ve got a total bill for £86. I’ve reviewed and accepted, so I guess I now will need to wait for an installation to be scheduled. interestingly, minutes after I received email from BG generic email account, I received another email from BG/Lexus team letting me know that quote was sent and to get it accepted so they could expedite.
  9. Ah ok. I had understood that the VSC issue was not a recall per se, but rather an OTA fix? The date for the recall is 13th April, which has me inclined to think it is the spot weld issue? I guess I’ll know soon enough. Update Ha, I’d literally just posted this message and email from dealer popped in. I’ve been assured my car is safe to drive. Recall involves inspection of 2 panels under bonnet. They indicate that they have not found any issues with vehicles that they have looked at already. (I expect amount looked at already is very small though)
  10. Thanks for sharing. My 450+ is a November build and is included on both DVLA and Toyota databases.☹️ I have emailed dealer and will share any info I get. regards
  11. I had an in person survey completed by BG engineer on 4th March. The guy left saying he would compile his report and I would hear in due course. I’m still waiting to hear. I did chase a couple of weeks ago but was told they have a backlog and I would need to be patient. 😮‍💨
  12. Hi, ihave a 450h+. I haven’t put that many miles on it since we have been on extended holiday a couple of weeks after taking delivery. What I can say to your questions is…….. The ev battery never goes flat. Normally, car will run in ev mode until charge gets to about 30% charge, it then automatically goes into hybrid mode and runs intermittently between petrol engine and ev as required. If you check your trip report in Lexus link after a journey you will see ev mode highlighted in blue. I can honestly say I’ve never noticed or felt the changeover in either direction, other than dash display changing. As for charging prior to a long run; I don’t think this will provide much benefit. You will have around 40 miles in ev mode then car will switch to hybrid. You can of course force car into charge mode and this will preserve ev battery if you wanted.
  13. Good to know. I have exactly same issue. I have a case open with Lexus support, so hopefully it’ll b a simple fix
  14. Yes, I can confirm scheduling can be done via the car or Lexus link. I’ve been scheduling mine to match my off peak tariff times
  15. Some early experience of running and charging of my 450h+……….. I’ve done ~300 miles since owning the car. This has been predominantly out of town driving. I’d say 85% out of town to 15% in town. In that time I’ve used less than half a tank of petrol. But I have been charging at home on off peak electric using the 3 prong plug. It takes about 4 hours to go from ~60% to 100% charge, which fits in nicely with my off peak timings. It has taken me a few trips to understand the EV/HV functionality. Basically, the car runs in EV until battery level drops to about 25%, it then flips to HV and alternates between petrol to drive and charge the battery and will seamlessly flip backwards and forwards between the two subject to demand. The battery charge stays around the 25% in this mode. I have once forced it into charge mode and I seem to recall it took the best part of 70 miles in petrol mode to fully charge. My typical driving is 90% in town, so I’d expect less petrol usage going forward. I haven’t yet figured out electric charging costs, I guess that is my next step. I am also due to get the free EV charger installed and I imagine that will provide additional flexibility. Overall I am very pleased with the car, but I do have a couple of niggles. Our profiles won’t stay loaded in the system, I can’t register the multimedia system (needed for map updates, etc), I keep getting spurious door left open alerts and there is an annoying tapping noise caused by seatbelt bouncing on trim at bottom anchor point. Happy to answer any queries if needed. TC
  16. That’s what I meant. How do you calculate the incremental petrol usage when charging.
  17. I’m in the very early stage if 450h+ ownership. As far as I can figure, home charging is probably going to be the most economical. I’m on an economy 10 tariff and am paying around 17p per KWh on the cheap tariff and 20p on the standard. I’ve been able to take advantage of the free wall box offer which will help wrt the duration if the charging, but I don’t see it as that big a deal to use the 3 prong plug, albeit charge times will probably be close to double that if the wall box. I don’t have enough experience to figure out the costs of charging via the petrol engine just yet. I did a 70 mile run today and was in charge mode and it took all of that to charge from 10% to 90%. But I’m not sure how to put a value on that since I had to make the run anyway and the charging was a side benefit.
  18. @Ken R those are the standard alloys for the 450h+ with premium plus pack
  19. Finally got mine yesterday. I’m very happy so far. Early impressions are that it is quiet, comfortable and responsive. All boxes that I needed ticked. loads of configurable items and I’m slowly working my way through them all. I will say that none of it is particularly intuitive.
  20. I know for sure it’s at dealers, I have connected to it and activated the services. I can see the location and it being moved from receiving depot to workshop. I’m reasonably confident I won’t have to wait much longer.
  21. @Ken R My car was around 4 weeks at distribution centre in Derby. I was told that it needed a part. I’ve not been advised what the part was or why it was required, despite asking.
  22. So………… I’ve finally seen some progress. My car was delivered to dealer yesterday morning. I won’t go into all the details but it hasn’t been simple to make arrangements to collect car. As it stands at present I’ll be getting my car on Thursday. I’ve had two new Lexus from dealer previously and they were pretty slick experiences. This time around it feels like a bit of a saga and not really pleasurable. Hopefully, owning the new NX will make me forget about the hassle soon enough! I will put some pics up.
  23. @Andy B yup it’s a bit if a pain. I’ve found communications to be particularly bad. I can’t blame dealer entirely, I think they have struggled to get information from Lexus UK. Certainly the email thread that the dealer read back to me was very short on detail. it does appear that you are a bit further ahead than me though. I have nothing other than the basic Lexus Link info which is showing current location. Mine is a 450h+ with premium plus pack in Sonic Titanium, what have you got coming? I will defo post back here with updates…….
  24. So an update on my one………… It is still in distribution centre in Derby, that’s getting on for 4 weeks now. The dealer has just called to advise that the depot found a problem whilst performing the pre delivery inspection and are waiting for a spare part. They are telling me that part due at depot tomorrow and expect to have car on its way to dealer same day. I haven’t been given any technical detail on part or cause of problem. I guess that’s why they do the pre delivery checks though!
  25. My time line us not dissimilar to yours. arrived UK 24/12 arrived Derby 7/1 and there it has stuck! My dealer (Lexus Edinburgh) originally advised they expected to have it on 25/1, but still not there and I haven’t been given another date. I did talk to them on Tuesday but they were unable to be specific. I’m beginning to think there may be a problem with my one? On another topic, has anyone who ordered in Sept or Oct been able to find out details of the free charge point installation!
