  1. Ken, my figures were based on only getting 25 miles of EV range and how much petrol would be needed for the same distance. According to my Wallbox app the average kW for a full charge is somewhere around 14.8kW. The EV range might drop to 0 at around 30% but I've noticed the battery is sometimes used further (eg. when setting off at low speeds etc ) so charge level carries on reducing below that level.
  2. Malcolm, what was the lowest outside temperature you've had for charging/driving when getting this range and what type of roads/speeds. Have you had any seat/wheel heating on ? Seems like a big difference although I've only had 1 proper journey in these low temps to base it on.
  3. I did my first journey to work in this properly cold snap yesterday - about 6 miles urban and 12 miles on the motorway. In the summer I was getting about 45 miles of EV range so enough to get to work and back with a bit to spare, (keeping motorway speeds to below 70mph). When it started going cooler this dropped below 40 miles. Yesterday my EV range dropped to 0 with about 10 miles left to home so total EV was about 25 miles (in ECO mode) ! The overnight charge was 15.6kW which cost £5.30. The same distance on petrol at £1.60/litre and 40-45mpg would be £4.04-£4.54 Obviously affected by the cold battery as well as having heating on etc.. This means it is now cheaper to use petrol for the first time since having the car in June. Luckily (hopefully) in most of the UK we don't get too many properly cold days !
  4. I pre-heated the car including seats when the EV range was 0, but the battery was still approx 30%. Not sure what the minimum battery level is before it stops working.
  5. Just an observation in case of interest - there have been posts previously about how annoying LDA can be and that or can't be permanently disabled. I always turned it off (via the shortcut menu) at the start of the journey if I remembered or as soon as the car grabbed the wheel. Recently I changed the alert from audible to vibration and for some reason it seems to be a lot less grabby and the annoying beep obviously isn't there. I just get a light vibration when crossing lines and have gone from hating it to not minding it !
  6. Door handles are OK when you get used to them but it's a pain trying to explain to passengers how to get out of the car ! I'm not sure why some people don't like the gear selector, I think it's nice to use.
  7. I would have thought that having the key in a faraday pouch makes having keyless entry pointless because you have to take the key out of the pouch for it to work ? I decided to keep the key in a faraday box overnight as this is the most likely time someone would attempt to steal the car.
  8. I'm 5'9" and lowered the seat slightly (from max height) because I couldn't adjust the mirror upwards enough. I don't think you should have to stick another mirror on - they should just make sure it has sufficient adjustment for all sizes of people and seat heights.
  9. Ok thanks, I'll see if the dealer can do something whenever I take the car on next.
  10. John, just looked at the website, I hadn't seen it before - there's an option to 'verify ownership to access additional features on the portal', just wondered what these extra features are (I don't have a V5 to get the code needed as I have a lease car), thanks
  11. Finally got round to fitting my Thinkware F800 with OBD power connector and it works fine. Front cable is easy to hide, haven't got round to fitting the rear camera yet. The camera is hidden (from drivers view) behind the rear view mirror.
  12. I couldn't get a free charger because my 450H+ is leased. Got a Wallbox from Evolution Solutions, approx £899 with interest free credit. Good service from the installer and charger works fine.
  13. I've seen the same, eg. joining a motorway doing 50-60 in sport mode, put my foot flat to the floor and literally nothing happens. At lower speeds it accelerates as you would expect.
  14. A full charge of approx 15kW costs me about £4.20 at 28p/kWh and gives me approx 45 miles The same distance using petrol would use about 1 gallon - currently about £7.20 (£1.60/litre) If the cost of electricity doubles or more as predicted it will become cheaper to not charge it at all and use petrol ! So pointless having a plug and painful for people with full electric cars ! 🤔
  15. Click on 'connected services centre' on the app home screen, if you've activated smart services and connected services you should see the 1st screen below - click on 'smart services', then 'services included in this bundle' to see the next 2 screens.
  16. Was thinking the same, had it at the top of the glass last time and didn't like being able to see it.
  17. I've got a thinkware F800, was in my previous Volvo V60, connected to the OBD port with no issues. Have you run the wire to the rear camera, any tips ? Cheers
  18. I mentioned recently in another thread that I had a message from the Link app support people to say send to car navigation is planned to be added later this year.
  19. As Andy said but more in depth than my answer would have been ! Works fine in pass through mode (that's what I meant to say). The other settings (features) in the app which are disabled in this mode aren't needed.
  20. Probably mainly laziness, easier than fishing the phone out of my bag but obviously you'd still need the phone out if it needs charging. Generally I'm doing short journeys so don't need to charge it. Carplay works wirelessly so just allows Android to work the same way.
  21. Hi Andy, link for cable https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B075WMLN4M/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  22. In case of interest I just installed an AA wireless adaptor - seems to work well. The adaptor is small enough to fit in the slot above the USB ports and connects in about 10-15 seconds. (I already had the short cable with right angled connectors, from Amazon, to make it neater when plugging the phone in) I had read that they are difficult to get hold of but ordered it Last Tuesday night and it was delivered yesterday. Cost was $89 + $35 for UPS express shipping. Although a US company they ship from Hong Kong for European orders. https://shop.aawireless.io/ Only issue when first tried it was an error message saying the car clock didn't match the Android device clock (phone is a Samsung A52). You have to have to download the AAwireless app and enable by-pass mode. Apparently this means some app features don't work but nothing that affects the basic operation of connecting to the car and using AA as if it was plugged in.
  23. Haven't noticed any strange noises even in reverse. The first time I drove the car I ran over a pigeon because it didn't hear me coming!
