  1. Potentially stupid reply time but here goes.... :) It maybe the sat nav screen that causes the problem?? Try and change the background map colour to something darker as I found the bright green to be too strong for comfort.
  2. I had same prob on my 430 - squeaky drive belts - Lexus Bracknell replaced them under warranty.
  3. 1. Reliability 2. Value 3. Exclusivity (I had BMW before)
  4. To steal a sentence from Viz.....no wonder he had to resign, everytime you saw him he was out walking his F**king dog!! :D
  5. Not sad....just a bloke...we all do something similar sometime in life :D
  6. In case anyone disagrees may I suggest you go and have a look at the M4 bus lane!! - The prosecution rests :D
  7. Spare a thought for me and my LS - 21 gallon tank!!! :) Seriously though since 1997 this Government seems to have deliberately done all it can to undermine normal hard working folk and pander to minorities/layabouts/the P.C. brigade etc. IMO it's Britain and certainly no longer Great anymore
  8. Young female sales executives no matter what car they drive :D I think they feel to get ahead in male dominated job they need to work twice as hard and drive twice as dangerously....usually in Golf TDI
  9. Thanks for the update. The spray I used was specifically designed to tackle Mildew but thanks for letting me know there is a dedicated product - I'll search this out. Out of interest, I switched air con onto max and sprayed into the external vents under the wipers. Is this the best way or is there a more efficient way by switching the aircon to recirculate and spraying internally perhaps??? - if so where should I spray?? Rillo
  10. Well, had the car for a bit now so can be more objective..... :winky: It's fantastic!! :) Only slight problems I have had were a creaky drivers seat, smelly aircon (see my other post for fix) and a small rattle in the central vents. Central vent trim and the drivers seat base were replaced under warranty. Work carried by Lexus Bracknell who have been excellent. Getting about 29 mpg on the motorway and 18ish around the town. So very pleased with the car but not the neanderthal who opened a door into mine... :tsktsk: Rillo
  11. Just come across this potential fix for strange smell when I start the car (2003 LS 430). Occassionally I would get a damp/sweaty smell from the AC which would go away after a minute or so. Lexus replaced filters but to no avail. However it seems it may be caused by Mildew in the A/C Evaporator (I'd be interested to find out how it forms!!??). The US forums have suggested opening the bonnet, switch AC onto full and spray something like Febreze Anti bacterial spray or similar into the air intakes under the windscreen wipers. In theory this should kill the mildew. In the short term it seems to have cured my problem but I'll keep the forum updated as to longevity of the fix. Rillo :D
  12. I find the ride on my LS to be more than acceptable and I am also more than satified that my LS won't spend as much time being repaired as an S class, whatever the ride quality!! :D
  13. Thanks to all for the very warm welcome. Best thing about the LS apart from the luxury is that it is a surprisingly quick car - on the test drive I scared the life out of a young lad in a Subaru Impreza Bet he wasn't getting 11.2 mpg though ;) I take delivery next week and can't wait....
  14. Rillo - 35, no wife, no kids (I hope!) and just bought an LS430 :D Born in Hexham, raised in Newcastle and Durham. Now reside near Ascot. Technical Account Manager for Mercury, a Business Technology Optimisation company in Camberley. Need a big comfy LS to see me through the journey to hell in the morning - also known as getting onto the M25 at Junction 13.... Newcastle United Supporter - Haway the Lads!!!!!!
  15. Will do - I'll post some pictures hopefully. It's Bordeux Red with Suffolk interior and Lexus Bracknell are really impressing me so far with their sales and customer service. Rillo :D
  16. Not really a topic but glad to say I have joined the LS club at last. Just bought a 2003 LS 430 and can't wait to take delivery. Made the move from BMW - great drivers cars marred by too many niggly faults and now a total lack of exclusivity. Rillo :D
