  1. Ronnie thanks for the heads up. Is this device 2G only? The DB2 on Amazon appears to be £34.99 ?
  2. I believe that the reason the PHEV has a large 30% reserve for the traction battery is because the PHEV has a total power output of 302 BHP created from the engine and an electric motor on each axle. When you floor the accelerator etc this demands full or nearly full power output, which means the traction battery will be able to provide the necessary power to the motors even if you have zero EV miles available. If you drive the car very hard with just the 30% reserve it is possible to see the reserve drop below 30% if the engine hasn't been able to maintain it because of driver demand. However, the car is clever enough not to let the driver deplete this reserve by too much by limiting BHP regardless of how heavy footed you are.
  3. I believe all NX Phase 2 variants use Lead Acid auxiliary batteries as original equipment.
  4. Here's a pic of the plate fitted to a RAV4 (from the RAV4 forum). The plate covers the canbus plug by the nearside front headlight so it can't be unlatched and pulled out stopping the thief's canbus attack electronics being plugged in. Thieves would pull out the wheel arch trims and front bumper to access the latch.
  5. Mine is showing 54 with a/c but obviously not achieving that. I rarely use up the EV range each day which might explain my high estimate.
  6. You're no doubt right, but a 100%+ increase in premium is crazy.
  7. James ...I'm not in a high risk post code, but my last year's premium with LV was £530 for my 450h which is in a higher insurance group than the 300h mainly due to it being a PHEV and 300HP, plus my premium would be higher due to me being a lot older than you (if Jim1977 means you're midish 40's). My renewal isn't till June but I ran it through the comparison sites and are currently seeing quotes around the £900 mark. I have max no claims (nothing claimed for 20 years or so) and a clean licence. In my case I'm pretty sure hitting a certain age band has been a significant catalyst (very unfair to my mind), a 70% premium increase year to year seems incredulous.
  8. I'm still getting that bloody annoying message at frequent intervals. Anyone know how to be rid of it for good?
  9. You'll find that numbering convention for the VIN position 10 doesn't apply to Toyota/Lexus vehicles in the UK. It may be used by other brands but Toyota/Lexus stopped using it some time ago. My VIN has a 0 in that 10th position which the above convention doesn't recognise. Test it against your VIN.
  10. In the UK, the VIN no longer identifies manufacturing date, but even if it did, it doesn't reveal the Model Year. MY 2024 NX was said to be manufactured from Spring 2023 according to Lexus Europe, though actual dates varied by market. https://newsroom.lexus.eu/lexus-nx-elevated-by-new-on-board-luxury-features-and-latest-technology/?fbclid=IwAR2PikwQRsd3byUdDM6l6Bha-L_Lb6tf1jxOkc6dXfyVTSt9qNs6FqAwyhc&utm_source=LexusOwnersClubUK&utm_medium=ForumLinks
