  1. Hope there is a special place in hell for these people. Mario is it appropriate to ask for a very general location? Also, it might help you to give some car details. Some of us (me) spend a fair amount of time looking at SC430's and if we see anything new that might be yours we can report back. Really sorry my lad, you must be gutted.
  2. Indeed, if you find yourself listening to music from your formative years and nothingelse then you should look up a little something called 'The Reminiscence Bump'. Fortunately, it is remarkedly open to sound psychological explanation. Summarised, your teenage years count heavily for who you are going to be and the experiences you have in that period shape you for life. The memories being emotionally formed through music are particularly long lasting. Pretty much all to do with brain development and when it happens There you go just saved you a search.
  3. Being an old Northern Soulie so much of what I listen to is 'old'. Roughly 1964/3 through to mid to late seventies maximum. Some years ago I had also got the mindset trap that todays' music was all 'crap'. However, the more I looked around the less I believed this to be true. I have come to the conclusion that if i listen to music from any era I will find plenty that does not appeal. yet I will also find music that I could post here and reasonably claim to be as good as anything ever done within our lifetimes. You've just got to be prepared to look hard for it. So, today, for breakfast, 'something old, something new, and something blue'. 8. Try it a different way. Find the adjustable height plus a pad to enable her to enter the car. Once in have a different setting in memory that at the push of a button lowers the seat electrically to whatever level suits her head height.
  9. Little lady many people probably have never heard of. Vocal stardust. https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=6LupBiZ7hMA&si=qCSw3feP-yWm_Ea7
  10. On the plus side Herbie I thank you for your contribution to my portfolio ! 😉 I definitely owe you a bottle of Leffe.
  11. Glyn are you perhaps of a mechanical/engineering bent? You seem to be approaching the solution from that direction. Personally, I would say whatever you might achieve mechanically might be done more simply by using an existing cushion/pad solution ,or just popping down to your nearest upholster and getting him to tailor a seat pad to your wife's exact requirements. On a couple of occasions in the distant past I would come across a client who was vertically challenged and I would design some components of the installation to overcome that issue. That did not usually though entail modifying the 'guts' so much as working around the norm as it were. Just my most immediate thoughts on the issue.
  12. Working my way around the car bit by bit I come to the dreaded bit. Under the bonnet. I have only been under a bonnet once back in my youth. Wouldn't say I don't know much about these things, but at the time I needed to top up the oil. Couldn't really work out how you could pour oil into such a small hole where the little stick thingy goes without making an unholy mess. However, ever the problem solver I cunningly cut A4 size cardboard and rolled it into a makeshift funnel carefully replacing the stick thingy afterwards. Job done I proudly told my friends and dare to say I have never really lived it down. Now I cannot believe the amount of dust that gets under here, but it looks like Stew kept on top of it generally. I don't know whether it's up to scratch ,or not, comparatively speaking. I do know there's a lot of fluidy stuff in here and I will have to make an effort to learn what is what. I can see I would be better investing in some kit to really take care of it.
  13. Lovely weather so in for a bit of car washing with my assistant.Show me the biscuits first Boss.

  15. For the motoring enthusiasts and remembering a hugely talented Chris Cornell, gone too early. https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=vVXIK1xCRpY&si=7AxGIn36saVUs6Ev
  16. Decent summary in the Sunday Times today regarding the many issues surrounding getting Insurance for EV's, and why current renewals may seem to be increasing far more rapidly then equivalent Petrol/Diesel. No point me giving the link ,because you probably will not be able to read if you are not a subscriber, but you may be able to get it just by searching. Anyway you look at it though it does appear EV's are going to come with another unforseen cost penalty.
  17. Leave the car at home, run the moors is what I meant.
  18. Meanwhile I was looking for a boyfriend for lexigirl. I hate to disappoint her ,but I would need a cape to drive this.
  19. I would sell my soul to be able to run that again.
  20. Indeed, thinking outside the box for a security solution we need a blowup cover to drop over the Lexus that makes it look like a Range Rover !
  21. 👍 I may be a died in the wool Northern Soul lad, but I also really like rock ,and instrumentally ,early prog rock ,but needs to be turned up, right. Recommended, Alterbridge albums ABIII and Blackbird as starters to try out. On a roll, think you might also like Rival Sons , Album choice ,Great Western Valkyrie !
  22. Thats' an excellent summary Herbie. In effect you are meeting your living needs (mobility) and pairing that with the ability to pull forward your capital turning it effectively into income. Given your circumstance I would say that is goal achieved.
  23. Cracking choice, but have you tried some of early albums from Alterbridge. I didn't think anybody might match Plant until I heard Kennedy live at the Albert hall ....outstanding range for any musical genre .
