  1. I've just had my IS200 MOT tested this morning at an independent place and the chap did not turn on the front fogs or test them in any way.
  2. Thanks for the info, you seem to share the same opinion as I do, I've got the MOT tomorrow (a month before expiry) and will see what they say on wednesday next week. Also I'll follow your advice RE: The Dealership Principal if I get nowhere. Matt
  3. Quite like the grey interior though! ;-)
  4. Smoke them slightly mate... White will look a bit on black car.... Something like this - -- SNIP PHOTO == You can get smoke tint spray from most motor factors... just an idea :) I do like what they have done with the rear Lexus logo, I think it looks really good especially with that colour of car.
  5. Just to let you know out of interest... Nottingham do not do a full pre-warrenty expiry check, just a visual safety inspection. However they have booked my car in for two days next week to investigate the problems/issues I raised. They also confirmed I have a full Lexus extended warrenty not a Inchape one, does this mean I can take it to a dealer which does do pre-warrenty expiry checks? If so I assume they can do the work instead of Nottingham?
  6. Still running on the spare, awaiting my tyres to come through the post via the special Gold offer! :-)
  7. I took a trip down last Monday to see Tony at STS, it was just under two hours for the trip from Nott'm/Derby to Watford, but certainly well worth the time and fuel. After a quick check of the existing settings, Tony noticed that some of the settings were correct (to new Lexus standards) and some were well out. Tony also found that one of my tyres had worn down to the wires (I should really check my tyres on full lock more often!) Anyhow, after a couple of hours all was done and I am well impressed with the results, a lot less tramlining and sliding around on the motorway. I've put the scans online for those of you interested in this sort of thing. http://www.escarpment.net/lexus/geo1.jpg http://www.escarpment.net/lexus/geo2.jpg
  8. My dealer (Nottingham) issued warranty is due to expire in about a month, I have booked my car in for an MOT (independent centre) to see if that turns up anything unusual. My Lexus three year warranty expired in March, I think the dealer warranty is with Inchcape and not with Lexus itself which might result in a lot less items being covered. Does anyone have any experience with end of warranty checks? I am waiting for Nottingham to call back to see if they provide one. I have the following niggles, do you think they are worth pursing, has anyone successfully got them fixed under warranty? * Clutch Judder in first/low revs, especially when cold - http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...showtopic=14892 - http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...showtopic=16640 - http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...showtopic=18137 - Indicate I may have a chance? * Minor corrosion of 18" styling kit alloys already replaced when purchased under Lexus warrenty. * Front (especially drivers) seat belts slow to recoil. * Squeeking noise from front passenger side seat when someone is sitting there. * Excessive stonechipped styling kit bumper, resprayed by dealer when car was purchased last July. * One nozzle failed in windscreen washer jets. * Over spray above back doors from when the doors were sprayed due to corrosion earlier in the year. The Lexus Nottingham (Mann Egerton) spray shop will not return phone calls! :-( Anyway, any advice, notice of which are common faults would be very useful. Thanks...
  9. Take it to Leicester.... I assume it is only covered by the Nottingham dealer with its years purchase warrenty as it is no longer covered by the Lexus GB warrenty (It's an 02 plate that I bought last August). Not sure. I personally would have thought the warrenty applies at any dealership - not just the one you bought it from. Worth looking into Matt.... Good point, okay, will do...

  11. I dont think its wide spread problem, as this is the 1st ive i know of this problem. I've just had my rear tyres changed and the guy mentioned this on one of the rears. I'm also getting small areas of corrosion appearing although the alloys were replaced under Lexus Warrenty last year. I'm still covered by dealer warrenty but I doubt I'll get much joy with Lexus Nottingham...
  12. I've TomTom Mobile on my phone and the Bluetooth GPS receiver is hidden away in my JDM Dash Tray, works fine!
  13. Exactly, if you can take it elsewhere I'd recommend you do that, have a search for my 60k price guide to give you an idea of where to try (even though you are looking for a 70k service)
  14. My tyres arrived yesterday, well impressed! Just need to get them fitted now!
  15. You might want to glance at this thread for some advice. There is always the Wheels & Tyres subforum too... http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...showtopic=22190
  16. Certainly the styling kit alloys but if there was a third option, I'd go for the Lexus Grand Prix.
  17. I ordered the Goodgears, I went for this threads recommendation! ...although I was really tempted by the new dunlops, I've always had 165/60x12 dunlop rubber on my classic Mini and it is the best out of all the tyres in that size.
  18. Excellent thanks... squarehead> From the deal Matt setup Gold thingy!
  19. Aha, thanks for that info! more options... Dunlop SP SPORT MAXX 225/40 R18 ZR XL mit Felgenschutz (So) £83.90 or Dunlop SP SPORT MAXX 225/40 ZR18 92Y XL mit Felgenschutz, BSW (So) £93.00 What is the difference in speed rating between a 92y and a zr, only links i can find seems to imply the 92 is a load rating and Y speed. Does that sound about right?
  20. Aye thanks, I found that link in a search and was planning on ordering via that chap. The Gold subscription is certainly set to save me a package this year!
  21. Okay I've had another look at the prices... Goodyear EAGLE F1 GS-D3 225/40 ZR18 92Y XL BSW (So) 83.80 So they are actually cheaper than the Dunlops and Pirelli. Unless I get a flood of 'don't do it' style replies I'll order them tomorrow and give the local garages a call to see what fitting costs are. I know most people will reply about lengths of string, but I got 20k out of the Pirelli tyres, will I get roughly the same out of the Goodyears? Thanks guys...
  22. I'm looking to replace my two back tyres on my stock styling kit 18" wheels. Torn between the Pirelli P0 Rosso Asimmerico and the Dunlop Sport SP 9000 I've read quite a few threads comparing different tyres and giving different opinions. I've had 20K out of the rear Pirelli P0 Rosso Asimmerico's I've got on at the moment and the only complaint I've got is handling in the wet and I've heard good things about the Dunlops (taking into account the bad noise when they wear thin), Opinions anyone? Pirelli P ZERO ROSSO Asimmetrico 225/40 ZR18 92Y XL ohne P ZERO Label (So) £86.90 or Dunlop SP SPORT 9000 225/40 R18 ZR mit Felgenschutz (So) 86.90 £86.90 Thanks in advance...
  23. My friend may be ready to sell his Black 02 IS 200 Sport Navigator, i'll check if you are interested. --Edit-- I've spoke to my friend and asked him to hold fire on putting it in the AutoTrader for a few days to give you or other LOC members first refusal, hope that helps? I've put it in the Buy&Sell area as not to clutter your thread. http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...showtopic=22171
  24. Course it will lets just check it's accurate. Live and let sell that's what I reckon Only if you do the theme music... :P
