  1. I've submitted a 'findapart.co.uk' request but not heard anything yet. I've also uploaded a photo to make it easier for people to understand what I'm on about!
  2. Thanks for your quick reply, its not the scuff plate (which is chrome on my sport model) but another piece of plastic that starts under the back seat and goes towards the door pillar. It sits between the carpet and the door rubber seal.
  3. Some idiot has broken the black plastic trim at the bottom of the rear door on my IS. Last time he gets a lift to the pub at lunch. Anyway, does anyone know the part number or price for the black long plastic trim from the rear passenger (drivers side) door. Its the wide piece that extends from under the seat and out along the door bottom. Thanks in advance...
  4. Slightly O/T, shock of my life the other day when I saw a silver IS towing a caravan down the the slip road from the A52 to the M1. I've seen many ISs on the road, but this was the first one towing and I've been to Cornwall twice this year!
  5. I don't know the difference in pricing between the IS 200 and IS 300 S/X, but this may give you an idea of the difference in pricing between dealers. Its worth doing the leg (or telephone) work and sharing here: http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...topic=21424&hl=
  6. Anytime in the week is good as I'll be in London at the weekend (Although don't let that sway you! ;-) ) Plank and Leggit is an alright pub, friend of mine from school used to be (could still be) the bar manager there. You just need to hope it doesn't rain too much as that place is the first to flood in the area! ;-)
  7. Cheers, should stop the few mm of bare metal rusting until I get it fixed properly! Thanks all...
  8. Aye, me too, probably wouldn't work on another colour... I'd keep it like that! :D
  9. I asked a couple of dealers when I did my 70k ring around to find out if they did a touch up paint for the door window surround (The shiny black painted sections). They all denied all knowledge of a touch up paint, is this correct as I have a scrape on the top of my driver door which could do with the bare metal covering before I add it to the list of little bodywork repairs.
  10. I work at Lboro Uni and quite a few people are meeting a LFE services to go down to STS in a few weeks... As Mr Morse says, "Club Meets" section!
  11. Thats about it plus some oil and visual checks, at 85 quid that sounds about right for a filter, oil and an hour or twos labour? Going to keep the FLSH until the warranty expires, after then I'll have the debate about the value of a FLSH...
  12. Would be, but when I called back they couldn't squeeze me in before my holiday (I have to admit it was tight/only a few days) where as another dealer could (cancellation) and offered to price match. I've been wanting to check out Hanley for a while, perhaps for 80K or I'm sure my discs and pads will need doing soon and if the difference in price is anything to go by... Again it proves it pays to shop around with nearly £100 between the highest and lowest price (before discount!)
  13. Here is my usual ring round of midlands dealer pricing ready for my 70K service which is coming up. All dealers offered LOC Gold discount however some more than others and as per some rules somewhere I cannot list the discounts here in the public forum... Birmingham - £164.03 Coventry - £182.82 Hanley - £84 Leicester - £169.85 Nottingham - £180 Sheffield - £155 Stoke - £132 Wolverhampton - £138.35 Give you a rough idea of servicing costs for those who search!
  14. Will you be coming in an IS300 I'm certainly keeping my eye on the used car section of the local dealers pages, but I've been given an extended warranty by Nottingham after they were messing me around so I think I may stick with mine for at least the length of the warranty!
  15. I don't know how you got that price, I called them and they were quoting more in the 200ukp mark! You've done a good deal there!
  16. Glad the wheel/tyre was useful, nice meeting you as with the other LOC members over the last few weeks. I'll have to come along to the next Midlands meet that happens...
  17. So did I, search the forums to find a full breakdown of all dealers in the Midlands!
  18. Fully agree, although I really like the the like body coloured Lexus logo on the grill (Top Photo)... :D
  19. They certainly look even better in the flesh, I especially like the studs, they fit in with the style of wheel extremely well! Nice one!
  20. That'll be my confusion then; no sport logos in back quarters and two tone colour on the steering wheel and not on the CD player etc... Makes it easier! I assume they do the styling kit as a standard option though?
  21. I've got a IS 200 Sport and currently have an IS 300 (SE or Sport the usual tell-tale signs are confusing?) from Lexus while mine is in for warranty work. Long and short of it all is I really want one now, at first I thought I'd hate the auto box, but its bloody nice, I thought there would not be much performance difference, but it is really apparent! My only gripe is it seems to drink a lot more fuel than my 200, but as I was saying to Mike the other day It could be because I'm not used to the Auto box. Go for it, I'm thinking about it!
  22. Thanks Squarehead, they are still looking at this, also they keep changing their mind about the warranty I have, I've now found the documentation I signed with the person who sold me the car. Sparks are going to fly seeing as they have authorised the work by a different warranty company. Has anyone else had such problems with warranty issues with their dealership?
  23. I've managed to convince them to replace the flywheel and 50% of the clutch under warranty. I've got about a hundred pounds to pay due to the mileage of the car and getting a new clutch (which seemed fair enough) Although I am having trouble with the wheels and bumper. If you don't mind I'll post some digital photos when I get may car back then take the issue up with Lexus GB Warranty. I seem to be getting mixed messages from the service staff and dealer principal. Hopefully it will be a happy ending...
  24. I am debating the clutch judder issues at the moment. They have told me that to investigate further they have to have the gearbox out before they can let me know if it is a warranty claim or wear and tear (which is fair enough). However at £600 for a replacement I want to try and ensure if it is indeed a technical failure/fault that it get replaced fully under warranty. I have asked them to meet the technician that comes round to inspect warranty issues to discuss this. Meanwhile I've been making use of the search facility to see if I can get some information about what to look for, or at least speak some jargon to them. I've found some comments: * Dual Mass flywheel juddering glazes the clutch rendering it useless. * Problems with things like the springs that take up the torque spikes. Also I've seen some people report worn thrust bearings. I take it the issue could be with the flywheel as well as the clutch, as mines a 02 plate with 65k on the clock is there anything concrete I can look for that proves it is a technical failure of parts?
