  1. Thats really strange, I was just pondering exactly the same thing this weekend...
  2. Really easy, about an hours work for me being really, really careful. They are about 55 quid on eBay, I got mine from a fellow board member.
  3. Aye, I'm getting a little concerned that my 02 plate IS 200 Sport+Styling will be worth a lot less than I had hoped for when the new IS comes out. The dealer has offered me 12K part chop now at 50Kmiles
  4. Oh well this should be entertaining, I'll be interested to see how things go especially as the standard 18s seem to have a mind of their own. My old sierra was quite fun in the snow, but no where near as fun as the mini!
  5. Nott'm is about 1/2hr from Mansfield, unless you deal with Sheffield?
  6. Don't suppose someone has a part number or price to hand?
  7. Can you get double din adaptors, I've seen plenty of single din ones on good 'old eBay?
  8. I've just had my windscreen replaced on the insurance, and guess what, my car dash area has started creaking. I can tell this is going to be fun to sort, phone call to the glass company tomorrow! :tsktsk:
  9. Okay, I bought my IS200 Sport + Styling Kit in August 2004 from Lexus Nottingham with 41k on the clock. It had just had its 40k service and new discs and pads. I've had some cosmetic work done under warranty; two 18" wheels corroded and the tops of the back doors still need re-painting. Cigarette lighter needed fixing and windscreen wipers clicked each cycle, both were done under warranty. I've asked about a wobbly gear stick in first and was told it was quite normal, car pulling when breaking and was told that was the larger wheels tramlining. Other than those small niggles, the car is on 51k and I am more than happy so far. The only dealer brand that seems to come close is Volvo. Quite interestingly when looking to replace my last car which was written off, I did the tour of dealers wearing jeans and a T-Shirt (I'm quite young at 26) and only Volvo, Jag and Lexus treated me well. All the others were quite rude and brash, not interested in giving me the time of day. I'd certainly buy another Lexus, certainly from a dealer, but I would get them to write down all the agreements made before purchase, because they seem to forget things after purchase. I just stood my ground, refused to pay and complained. It seems to work, just stand your ground and you'll get what you want in the end! I'm probably the worst customer anyone could want, especially when the dealers are used to people just paying what ever bills land in front of them.
  10. You're not the only one, I get 350 miles out of £50 worth of fuel/a tank... I've managed 420ish on a long motorway run, but thats about it!
  11. ask aido he his running this set up at the mo, he says its fantastic. :D Excellent, I might have to invest in one... Aido > Which one have you got? ScarFace >Thanks for the recommendation, I'll ask around for fitting prices, does it do the fancy radio mute et al
  12. I was thinking of getting a decent hands-free fitted for my Nokia 6600 and then getting the Route 66 or Tom Tom software for it. Anyone had any direct experience?
  13. Thanks for your help guys... I'll take that off your hands, if you want to give me a figure inc postage (perhaps better recorded knowing what the PO is like ) via PM I'll sort you out via Paypal, bank transfer, cheque, bundle of used tenners?
  14. Just looking at: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...me=STRK:MEWA:IT How easy are they to fit, easy to remove afterwards, a reasonable price? Thanks in advance...
  15. Well, I haggled and got it for £150.60 in the end. They couldn't find anything wrong with the gear stick wobble, so I'll hold tight! I am certainly going to do the ring round for each service now! As for finding LOC, a google search for gear box/stick troubles...
  16. Aye, I think Nottingham are trying to rip me off, I've done a quick straw poll... Prices for a 50k service on an 02 IS 200 Birmingham - £155 inc VAT Sheffield - £155.40 inc VAT Leicester - £165 inc VAT Leeds - £155 inc VAT Nottingham - £190 inc VAT I'm sure I'll be having an interesting conversation with the servicing department at Nottingham later. Also the details on http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/dealers.php are a tad out of date phone number wise, the number listed for Leicester is not known and Birmingham is actually a SAAB dealership! :P
  17. Thats a relief, with the amount of gear box issues people are flagging up I was beginning to worry. (I read quite a few pages of previous posts...) As to the servicing cost, I might do a ring round before I pick my car up!
  18. I have had my IS200 sport for about 4 months now and it has suffered a gear stick wobble mainly when pulling away in first gear. It is currently in Lexus Nottingham for it's 50k service and I've asked them to look at this along with several other problems. Has anyone else noticed this? It wobbled much more than the hire car and my friends IS200, unfortunately the hire car this time was an automatic! They are charging me 190ukp for the 50k service is that about right?
