Just fitted a pair of carbon fibre eyelids to my Astral Black IS300. I reckon they look loads better than the black plastic ones. They fit pretty good (but not perfect) and need some good quality double-sided 3M tape to hold in place. I paid £41 + £6 P+P from a guy on Ebay. Took 2-1/2 weeks to arrive from the USA.

Which unit did you go for in the end then ? Could get a digital snap but really wouldn't show you much. The difference between the junk I bought off Ebay and the Ultraled bulb seems to be that the Ultra bulb has more emitters. It's a much clearer and brighter blue colour. Still nowhere as near as bright as a white bulb but looks cool. *** How about negotiating a discount with this vendor, his service is excellent *** ← forgive me for being thick but i was wondering which light it is :duh: ← The one in the roof, single LED (polarity sensitive, doesn't work if installed wrong way round) You're excused Dude, it is MONDAY......

Got myself an excellent blue LED for the cabin/door open light from Ultraled.co.uk. Arrived next working day. 100% better than the guy on Ebay sells.

I came across the same problem - tried prising off the cover with a small screwdriver but didn't get anywhere. There don't seem to be any obvious clips keeping the cover in place.

I had a near miss last year driving in snow thru Belgium. It was snowing quite heavily but there was a clear track on the inside lane of the autoroute. I was following about 100m behind another car, doing around 50mph, in "snow" mode. A Merc 4x4 SUV came steaming along past me and threw up a bunch of wet snow to my offside. The Lex's arse end lost it immediately and I found myself desperately trying to control it by turning into the direction of the slide. I must have come within mm's of the armco barrier. Until the snow got lighter I kept the speed down to 30. Wonder if the new IS250/350 come with a 4x4 option? One of my European buddies reckons Lexus will never take off in Northern Europe until they do a 4x4 option a la Audi, VW, etc.

They look great - thinking of getting chrome rims for my Astral Black IS300. Anyone have pics of similar?

C***SAWAY and the other "paint magicians" are a waste of money. Had a bumper scuff on my IS300, the guy charged me 80 quid and did a ***** job. Admitted it wasn't anywhere near perfect but asked what did I expect at the price. Took it to a local bodyshop in Nottingham, they quoted 250 quid and brought the whole bumper back like new. Ever heard the phrase containing the words "peanuts" and "monkeys"?

The translation reads that this model is not specifically a replacement for the IS, but more of a new model range that encompasses the current GS saloon, a new "lifestyle 4x4 like the BMW-X3 and a sports cabriolet. Since this model is not expected until 2006 it is unlikely to be the "new" IS.

I bought an IS200 Sport in Aug03 but found it gutless and underpowered. Traded up to a new IS300 in Astral black with full bodykit and never looked back. The two models are like chalk and cheese in terms of performance!
