  1. It's the -30mm Eibachs I had done last week. Great! ← what is the ground clearance now on a flat road i'll need to go out and measure the speed humps in my area i got about a 1000 of em ← Clearance at the lip of the front spoiler is 15.5cm. Below the sump looks like 1.5-2cm less, say around 13cm. Unless you have super size humps the size of the Alps and you take it real easy it doesn't bottom out. :)
  2. Yeah, I had a T5 estate as a hire car for a while. Went like :tsktsk: off a shovel. Beats the nuts off the Merc E320 Est.
  3. Wonder Wheels is the bizz, but not all the time though, just for hard baked grime. Must wear gloves otherwise it'll melt yer fingers!
  4. That looks cool matey. Was it fairly easy to do?
  5. Speed bumps - I'm being everrrr soooooo careful Mr Montana - avoid these alloys like a dose of the clap. I have done only 8,000 miles in 14 months and they are already getting pitted. Lexushave already agreed to change the F/OS under warranty and I'll be back for the rest before too long....

  7. It's the black thingy in front of the K&N logo. Looks the same on standard induction ← Sorry, can't attache image.... check my garage
  8. It's the black thingy in front of the K&N logo. Looks the same on standard induction
  9. This is how they should build 'em as standard
  10. I used the Halfords laquer on my 18"ers a few months ago but they are still starting to pit.
  11. I use the Thule system for carrying bikes on my IS300. The only difference for the GS will be a slightly different foot plate. ← Here's a link, they have distributors all over the country or will mail. Thule roof bars The AeroBars are the ones to go for, look great and they have locks
  12. I was at the Nottingham dealer yesterday to have one 18" alloy replaced - turned out that the "new" alloy already had a pit.... ....Before it had even rolled Ooops
  13. Well I am very hacked off atm with my insurer.... Open 8AM to 8PM apparently...... well not when I call your not!1111 :tsktsk: Answerphone message now says the office is closed from 6PM!111 What if I had a claim or something! All I want to do is see how much a s/c will add to my premium. the company.... egg bah.... BTW... how did you manage to rack up so many points! ← Egg won't touch you in a million years with a S/C
  14. Jeeeeeeeeez........that 10 times more than my first car cost TO BUY
  15. I was recently bitten by the modding bug and called my insurer (Axa) for a quote: "Sorry, we don't allow modifications". I would consider my IS300 to be fairly lightly modded (Exhaust cat back, K&N induction, Eibach's, anti roll bars soon) and am personally a good risk (42yrs, low risk job, SDP only, car garaged, 8,000 miles/yr, only driver, 1 x SP30, 10 yrs NCB etc). Going through confused.com and moneysupermarket looking for quotes, only one quote was returned, at over £900. My previous Axa policy cost just £408 for the standard IS unmodded. I tried several more of the insurers that confused.com and moneysupermarket don't list, but all either refused or gave hugely inflated quotes. The best I managed was £707 through Adrian Flux, works out at 73% more expensive than the Axa policy. I hate to think what some of the younger drivers with the full works are paying.....

  17. Hi Abbie, I wouldn't trust National Tyres - they couldn't get one of my wheel nuts off so just balanced the tyre with it on! :tsktsk: Anyway.....thats a different topic. Tracking is very different from Geometry. Tracking is very basic and just makes sure that the steering is not off centre. Geometry is a complete check and adjustment of all the angles on your car and can (as in my case) transform your car if the angles are out. Geometry is ALOT more through and complex. I could try to (poorly explain with my limited knowledge) all the adjustments and things - but its much better to link to the maestros website - Tony: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/anthoney.bones/ He explains everything. Good Luck! ← excellent! - full explanation, just what i was looking for - thanks Anees :D National Tyres were very good, can't fault them - took real care with the alloys, said they could do the tracking but i'd be better off going to a 'specialist'. you can only go on your own experience with a company tho can't you? :duh: anyway, i'm booked in at CTS wheels & tyres in Derby for Tues morning. he said the most i would end up paying would be £80 plus vat for front & rear (tracking? i think?? ) & rear camber - all adj reqd are inc in the £80. so that sounded pretty good. let's see if my rocket ship drives even better after she's been tweeked! :winky: ← Did you pay a visit to CTS Derby? How did they do? Need to get mine done in acouple of weeks after the new springs and roll bars have settled
  18. No did'nt try Lexus Nottingham for a quote....taken enough of my money already! But I have detected a small knock coming from somewhere close to my right knee, so it'll have to go back to the fitter for some investigation. Had a Typhoon fitted at the same time as the Eibach's, could be something a bit loose there. Off to Nottm Lexus tomorrow to have ONE 18" alloy replaced and take up the issue of my ****ty bumpers. Watch this space.....
  19. Probably gonna be: 1) Manifold & cat 2) Anti roll bars 3) My old lady shoots a nuke up my starfish. Ouch
  20. Just had a set of Eibach springs fitted to my IS300 (thanks to Dave of ProLex for good price and very rapid delivery). Visually the Lex looks lower at the front than the back, but overall is a big improvement. I am running 18" x 7.5J rims with 225 x 40 Pirelli P-Zero Rosso's and there is no rubbing even at full lock. I haven't taken her on any rough roads yet but on a smooth surface she immediately feels more stable. There is virtually no increase in firmness of the ride; in fact I would say it feels slightly softer, but there is a big decrease in roll around corners and the back end feels less twitchy. I had it done at tunemycar.com at Chilwell nr Nottingham. It was the first IS they'd done the springs on and it took them some time since they had to remove the entire trunk liner. Cost was £240 + VAT but I had some other things done at the same time. Here is their link: Tunemycar.com I'll leave it to settle for a couple of weeks and then have the geometry done. This is a great way to improve the looks and handling of the IS300 all in one go! 5/5 value for money.
  21. Anytime apart from 3rd week April (w/b 18th)
  22. Here's a link to a site where you can download voice files for some PDA sat nav devices: Voiceskins Looks like a good selection of voices but the types of PDA are limited. Was reviewed in Sunday Times
  23. My IS seems to attract stone chips like a magnet. Had the bumper touched up after only 4,000 miles and it looks like it needs a full respray now (8K). This is something I would seriously consider having done, but there are not any distributors in the Midlands.
  24. Mate there have been a bunch of posts on this subject, do a search, but WD40 overnight seems to do the trick
