  1. Mike (The Inspector) Morse 42 years young Operations Manager for world market leader in Drill Bit technology (the big stuff that costs $000's) used in drilling oil & gas bore holes. Worked in West Africa since 1996 - Angola, Nigeria, Chad, Congo, Cameroon. Currently based back in the UK but spend 10-14 days a month in Lagos & Port Harcourt (Nigeria). Married to Prisca (from Cameroon) who is due to take her test on Friday after nearly 200hrs of lessons.........Wish her good luck! Bought my first Lexus in 08/03 - IS200 Sport. Loved the build quality but hated the notchy 6 speed manual and sluggish (sorry guys...) performance and traded up to a new IS300 12/03. Was working overseas most of the time so didn't really get chance to start playing around with it until I came across the LOC Been busy modding since January and just can't get enough....
  2. She'll be shining like a Black Diamond.... ps Do any spouses/partners/boyfriends/girlfriends turn out to these events? Will there be anyone of the fairer s*x present at this bash?
  3. Can anyone give a recommendation for a BlackJax installer in the Notts/Derby/Leics area?
  4. I recently fitted the PIAA Super Sporza wiper blades - you get a spoiler on each side (19" & 21"), they look better and do a better job... From Speeding.co.uk Wiper blades
  5. 12/2003 only 8,500 (I spend a lot of time abroad)
  6. Cat back back box gives around 4-5 bhp or thereabouts, but does give a lovvvveeeellly sound. To squeeze more gee gees you'll need an induction system (around 9 bhp, providing there is one available for your model) but the most gain (and also most expensive!) upgrade is to replace the standard manifold with an unrestricted system (also loses the cat). I have a cat back back box and K&N Typhoon induction kit which noticeably improves throttle response and gives an even deeper roar... XERD headers coming later this year after I go on business to Houston!
  7. I think the recommendation is to run the AC for 10 mins a week, keeps the seals lubricated which are one of the main points of failure. Apparently (can't remember where I read it), Lexus AC's are one of the more problematic systems
  8. There's a whole bunch of them on US Ebay, just do a search for "TRD". They are around $23 and they will ship to Europe.
  9. Might get a rash going too close to Pride Park, have to bring some sheep repellent
  10. Sounds a bit dodgy- "K&O" "prototype" etc :o
  11. NTL are vultures - I'm paying £37.99 for 2Mbps with unlimited traffic. Company picks up the tab 'cause I work from home, but it's still legalized rape. There was never a BT line in the house so I was stuck with NTL from the time I moved in. Moving house next 2-3 months so will call them to either cut their charges or I take the business somewhere else.
  12. Nice! I'm into oriental dragons myself......'cept I got them inked on my body :winky:
  13. Remember that oil technology has come a long way even in the past 10 years and is formulated to hold particles in suspension, unlike previously where the sludge collected in the sump. This will result in a blacker looking oil, almost right from the minute it is filled.
  14. ← If it's deep scratches thru to the primer I would take it to a bodyshop. Avoid the "paint magicians" in white vans though, I've had 2 bad experiences with them I would take a whole day and use the 3-stage Merguires system. Very time consuming but the results are stunning :D
  15. Anyone familiar with these: Stabiliser Looks a bit gimmiky, claims +10bhp extra
  16. In my opinion, suspension mods give the best value for money improvements: Lowering springs Anti roll bars Then engine: Cat back exhaust Air filter / induction Should be able to get it all done for around £800 (parts) plus +/-£400 (fitting/labour) If you want 250bhp you are talking serious money....
  17. Have you tried a stern letter to Lexus UK head office detailing your complaints, with a comment that you may be contacting Trading Standards? Lexus are proud of their JD Power customer satisfaction status and I'm sure complaints like yours won't help them retain the status. Sorry you're so pi$$ed off!
  18. Give's a feedback after you've done a few miles please chap
  19. Ouch! Was planning on keeping mine (IS300) until the IS350 eventually shapes up, if it ever does....
  20. Wasn't exactly sure what you meant - thought it mught have been the rubber capped drain below the "K&N" logo on the pipe. Anyway geezer, good luck - these induction kits have a positive effect on throttle response AND make a good noise Mike
  21. Don't hit 'em too hard at Hellfords, they're just a bunch of kids getting paid Diddly.... Just about enough money to put gas in their Saxos and Corsas
  22. Think I got a good deal 'cause they were a bit slack on business when I called and John (the Manager) wanted his gofers getting bizzy - he had 2 or 3 of them on the job. Well pleased at only 50 mins. Went round to Morrison's next door, bought & read this week's Kerrang, 2 cups of tea later she was all sorted.
  23. This sounds wierd - My IS300 with -30mm Eibachs sits higher than Gord's IS200 on the standard springs Any ideas why?
