When Lexus Nottm were replacing one of my alloys under the warranty (the O/S front), the tech noticed a small "bump" in the side of the tyre wall that he brought to my attention. It is very small, maybe 8mm in diameter and protrudes out about 2-3mm.
Tyres are Pirelli P-Zero Rosso 225 x 40 x 18
Over the past 2-3 weeks I had been aware of a small "slapping" noise coming from the O/S front, like something was stuck in the tread. I checked the tyre several times but couldn't see anything. So it seems like the slapping noise must have been as a result of the small bump? The wheel has never been kerbed or potholed.
The tyres are only 14 months old, 8,500 miles and have about 7-8mm of tread left.
Lexus told me that the only way I can get a replacement under warranty is to buy a new one and have it fitted. They would then send the faulty tyre to Pirelli who would check it and would only refund me if they found a manufacturing defect. This all sounds like a pile of bull :tsktsk:
Where do I stand here under the warranty?
