  1. Yup, same as this, I know US and UK keyboards have different layouts. If need the @ sign quickly you could always run charmap and copy it from there. Try checking the control panel for all the regional and language options settings (especially under Languages tab -> Details -> the Default input language). What do you get if you hold shift and press the number 2 key? D. SHIFT 2 = @ interesting, whats that mean ?
  2. @ On a spare pc at work that I am just trying to get going having reloaded XP PRO, the @ does not work. So when you shift and press ' all you get is ' the shift works, because when you press shift / you get ? Swapped keyboards and same thing. As we all know life without an @ as tough these days. If anyone has a spare @ they do not use I have cash waiting. Seriously though, anyone got any ideas to try.
  3. Thats we thought, just expected to see him laid out. We drove home in silence like in shock. We have had cats that do some remarkable stunts, one of them (the one that doubles Tonys headcase cat) goes out of the loft conversion window and stays out all night until we realised what he was doing - waiting for the birds on a morning.
  4. Yesterday my Jack Russel, was playing with another dog at Otley Chevin, they ran towards a cliff, and the other dog stopped, whislt Smidge just ran out into thin air . This is like the cliff, only without the trees at the top : We expected him to be laid out on a rock 20-30 ft below, when we caught up he was just desperately trying to find a way back up. I nearly broke my neck trying to get to him. He appears to be totally OK, although we think he may be a bit sore today, maybe bruised.
  5. Wonder who that might be? :winky: The logo on the plate gives it away
  6. Seen some nice rear lights on ebay :D Seller in Nottingham area. Thought I might put in a silly bid :P Not sure which were best, your old ones or these smoke ones. Only reason not sure which is best is that they are both f*******g great
  7. I have one that has a cut on the part that "protects" the alloy. Its about finger nail size. It passed the MOT last year, will see what happens on Wenesday (MOT day).
  8. You would send your logbook to the dvla to register the new colour. Its illegal to have the wrong colour against the reg.
  9. I seriously havn't seen one in weeks in Leeds. Seen a few Mazda's though
  10. fibreglass will definatly damage easier than the OEM Lexus kit, also you may have issues with fitment I never got my fibre glass sport grill fitted it was a mile out of fit. OEM was a doddle.
  11. Your right about the looks, stick a bmw 3 in a carpark full of ordinary cars like mondeos, and you struggle to find it. You'd go straight to an IS. And if you parked the two together and ask someone to pick one for themselves free - we know what they'd pick. :winky: As far as Lexus being a rebadged Toyota, it isn't rebadged in the strictest sence because toyota do not sell the exact equivalent to an IS200 under the Toyota brand. It is a seperate Brand, a brand owned and manufactureed by Toyota. There is a lot of difference, primarily for marketing and image perception. People aspire to a Lexus but not many do to a Toyota. I studied "Kaizen at Toyota" for my purchasing degree, and I am pround to say my Lexus is made by Toyota, they are the bench mark in zero defects that all manufacturers set themslves by - regardless of industry.
  12. The new IS is a little different. I was not launched in Japan as Toyota, then re-branded as Lexus everywhere else. One thing that does p me off about Lexus, every part I have bought for my 'Lex' has been boxed as Toyota. Not being funny, but I think that if im paying Lexus prices, I should get Lexus bits! Or a least a Lexus box :winky: The new IS is a little different. I was not launched in Japan as Toyota, then re-branded as Lexus everywhere else. 13. Me quite apt if you look at my last post
  14. Actually just thought about what I put, on the car the bonnet would not go up if it was a weak strut. Ignore that then. I'll stick to selling printing presses.
  15. My SE has seat height adjusting. What spec is your IS200 ? What spec was your 320 Some of the things you have said are right, the problem with BMW is they are to common, and in the 3 series which is probably the main model, there is a model to suit all pockets. As for the gas strut to hold the bonnet up, I think these are dangerous, if they go weak, and the bonnet starts to drop - which will be slow to start with and may not gather pace until your heads in .. trust me I have experienced this on another type of machinery and I was laid out on the warehouse floor. I hate window buttons in the middle, in the end you end up looking down for them. Not knocking BMW because some of their motors are very good. (I almost bought a 330d spt a few months ago)
  16. IS200SE 12/99 had it for 3 years, never had anything go wrong that was not down to me -- like crashing it. Get one. But try for a sport with styling kit (saves on some mods) Only thing you'll have a problem with is parting with it in a few years, because you'll struggle to find anything in the same band that compares overall. Rich
  17. Hard look mate. Its a shame really that it costs so much to repair, what is a fairly straight forward repair and so it gets w/o (if it does). You must hold out for every penny though, they should pay you enough to buy the equivalent car. Insurance co's are t**ts though. Next time get GAP insurance when you buy one, I am sure you know, but if the car is written off this pays for the difference between what you get paid out and what you actually paid for the car. Its not particularly cheap, but if you have a bad track record like I had, then its a comfort. Hope it all works out for you. Rich
  18. Po (could be spelt Poh, or even Pooh) (I prefer The tweenies - Milo is soooooooo cooooooooool)
  19. Replacement fitted - many thanks Ekky. Like guys said easy with a couple of credit cards. Not much slack in the hose though :o Forgot how powerful it should be - almost ducked when I sprayed :duh:
  20. as a cafe customer, im glad to hear it :D :D
