  1. I'd agree that its very likely to be the plugs. Mines doing the same thing on odd occassions. Its due its annual service next month and they did not do the plugs last time as I changed 6 months before.
  2. I have not seen it in Gold but ... If the goods are not fit for purpose or poor of poor quality - (not the described quality etc), then YOU can void the contract. Which means you can ask for a full refund. It will probably say in his Terms and conditions, that he can repair or replace the goods at his discretion. But if you have been able to make the contract voidable (because he has not kept to the contract -ie goods not as described), then you can void the contract thus his t+c are not relevant and he can not revert to them.
  3. Had same problem on mine on Monday. Managed to pull it off in the end but thought it was going to snap. Diluted vinegar got the sticky pads off. I found two screw holes underneath :duh: But used the new sticky pads.
  4. It has air in the pipes. Theres some threads on here that explain how to get it out. Give me a minute. heres one link
  5. Finally got this sorted. Even though Lexus Leeds said it need a new heater matrix, infact it just needed flushing. I bought a brand new heater matrix of ebay, but never actually fitted it. I just took the pipes of the existing matrix and jammed a hose in and flushed it in the opposite direction to the normal flow. Theres no noise now. Which I am delighted about. What p******s me of is why the F*** did the insurers or Lexus Leeds not do this . Especially when one of said some debris might have got stuck in it. And they had it at least four times to try and solve the noise, even after they changed the alternator and the a cat o pre cat (not sure what they changed - except it cost the ins co £800 Anyway - if any one wants a brand new heater matrix - I have one going cheap. No doubt someone might in the next few years.
  6. Having read the article, its very much what a lot of companies do. Google probably picked a high profile company to ban as a warning to all. I think I will report some of my competitors and get them banned :D
  7. I had been looking at getting rid as its getting on a bit, but only the 330d sport took my fancy. As it is I could not find anything I wanted, so I have just put an ageless plate on it, maybe until next year when I can get a 12month old IS220D
  8. :offtopic: didnt think you could even pick up an IS for for less then 12/13k for shabby one 3 years ago?! but then again you do live up north :tomat :tsktsk: I'm with Mike.
  9. Both ok ? Thats good news. Are you keeping it now ? :D
  10. I got mine about 3 years ago from a small local garage. FLSH 63K miles. Its just hit 90k now. The car out lasted the company I bought it off. :D but the warranty was up the swanny . I only got two keys 100K is nothing on most modern cars - especially one from Toyota. The only concideration is selling it again with say 130k miles. I paid 11k for mine and I dont even want to talk about what its worth now. I think the price for that one is ok (subject to inspection)
  11. Ordered Thursday about 3pm - arrived today. - ultra quick service and good quality. So did the paperwork for the reg. Looking forward to the long queue on Monday at the MVLC.
  12. Got it sorted. You do have to loosen the nut on the pulley to adjust the tensioner. Thank heavens some one invented a gator grip socket. Had to take out the fan housing assembly though just to get the blinking socket and wrench in. Might put up the pics and a how to do it - seen as know one knows
  13. I'm black list 3 now. But have to play split screen with daughter more often than not. Just found that you can load your own cars in the split screen and race each others cars.
  14. Sorted the alternator now. It was the underneath bolt. Stil need to know about the A/C tensioning pully. It looks like you have to lossen the nut on the pulley, but some b******* has snarled up so cannot get anything on it. Must have been Leeds Lex or More Than mid 2004. B*******. Anyway, just need someone to confirm the pulley nut needs loosening.
  15. Stumped. Alternator belt When I have loosened the adjusting bolt on the alternater - it does not allow me to move the alternator to slacken the belt. The bolt itself is just "rising" away from the bracket. Do I have to loosen the other bolt that is under/behind the middle of the adjusting bolt ? A/C Belt. Same problem - I have undone the adjusting bolt on the tensioning pully, but the bolt just "rises" away from the bracket as you undo it, rather than the pulley lowering and slackening the belt. Only thing I can think here is that I need to loosen the bolt through the middle of the pully. Or hit it to loosen it No pics as at work and some f***kers taken the camera home.
  16. Cheers Looks like whats in the car already. If not will have to bodge it. Its only my mum , so it will be stuff like Cliff and BeeGees, so wont matter to much if my wiring affects the sound to much.
  17. My mum needs a new player in her Astra L reg (old but 40k genuine miles - just passed its MOT without anything ) Anyway - I am about to buy a cheap unit for her that says it is an ISO connection - some others also say this but some do not. Will this just be the push in type connection that is on her existing broken Phillips unit.
  18. They are also called "scuff plates" cos that's what they do, they protect the sills from marking by accidental scraping of shoes as people get in and out. I think it is inevitable that they will get marked. Bumbers are called bumpers, but they dont get bumped everyday. But yeah your right it is inevitable they will get scratched a little at sometime Thats a green light for the rest us then :winky:
  19. These are nice - promiss I will not bid :D but my wife might under an alias :P I dont think they will scratch to often will they ? its rare for people to stand on them I imaging my ordinary ones are pretty good nick on a 99.
  20. Cheers Mat, better allocate a bit more time than I thought.
  21. What Your a main man on here. I had a run of bad luck with mine and felt the same, but realised apart from spending more on a much better car or buying a brand new one theres nothing else out there. Time heals it mate - keep your pecker up.
  22. If its the standard 17" wheel there was one or a set on ebay, Will the tyres be knackered as well ?
  23. I am not sure that every time you get supermarket fuel you are guaranteed to get the same fuel, basically it will be whoever gives them the best price. So I understand anyway.
