  1. Thanks everybody for all their input. Will let you'll know my next move after I pick up the conrods from Dave.
  2. Wonder if anybody else is running close to 250 brake and if stock injectors are being used??
  3. This is all looking better now. If only we can source the rod part#, all will go according to plan. Completely stock motor stock injectors and currently on Aem management - brilliant supratruck :D Gives more hope that 250 brake can be achieved with stock injectors. Also heard that a tuning place in Horsham can remap the std ECU - not sure if this is true!!!
  4. What about 1G-GTE conrods or even better - complete 1G-GTE shortblock?? Who can supply the short block??
  5. Don't want the flakspeed kit as its too much wonga!!!!!!!!! Are there any uprated conrods available for the 1GFE to work with the original pistons?? Want to turbo my engine up to about 250brake and we all know the the std conrods give up their ghost at anything over 220/230brake. Also I dont wish to go over 250 brake as I will have to uprate the fuel delivery too - maybe in the future when I get bored with the power. What about the 1G-GTE conrods - where can they be got from?? Part numbers
  6. ARP bolts are available for the 1GFE - a few on ebay now.
  7. Thought that the IS200 with the amplified system as std came with a well hidden sub to increase bass.
  8. Tried searching fot the above, but its well hidden. Does anybody know where it is hidden???
  9. I think turbo's the way forward. I have done a lot of research on this and feel that this is best forward for very high 200's / low 300's. I know about the choclate con rods. Pistons are ok for mid 200's. I will be going with a rebuilt 1GTE bottomend with a mildly flowed head, a Garrett GT28BB turbo on a cast manifold when I can get my hands on 1 and a 3" turbo back exhaust system with a sports cat. Management will be std ECU with a Greddy Emanage - works well on the Supra's, so why not with the IS200's. Idea is to get it mapped in stages upping the boost a little every time so that the final map will be clean and smooth. thanks lexuxIT and Yeldarb
  10. I want 1, no 2. Where from and how much??
  11. Helix uprated Clutch, 1G-GTE bottom end, Mildly ported head, Uprated injectors, Custom ex-manifold, Garrett GT28 ballbearing turbo, 2.75" turbo back system with sports cat, Good front mount intercooler, Grooved discs with uprated should be good enough for mid 300 brake with braided lines. Have to look into injectors for sensible priced ones or can go for extra injector with its own control unit. Decent ECU or is Greddy E-manage up to the job??
  12. Don't want to damage the wireing trying to splice in using trial ans error. A plug and play would be good as in my ST205 :)
  13. Anybody know the part no of the blitz type turbo timer harness for the IS200 - 1999.
  14. Does anybody know the part# of the turbotimer harness that will fit the IS200??
  15. As said, both blocks are the same, but heads are different. The 1G-FE is 24V but narrow angle head, better for economy and lower down torque. On the IS200 addition of VVTI has added some higher RPM torque. The 1G-GTTE is also 24V but a wide angle head, better for power and higher RPM torque (long with twin turbos). At least thats what Mr T says. So you should be able to use the 1G-GTTE engine, but dissable the VVTI in the ECU. Your standalone ECU or Piggyback ECU should thake care of disableing the VVTI and sort out your fueling and ignition - providing you can get the manifolds for the engine. But you will have to use the crank sensor from the 1GFE and block off the distributor hole on the 1G-GTTE head. I would say std gearbox is ok if not for all out racing.
  16. My IS200 sport does not give me much more than 25 - 27 MPG. Plugged in a OBDII scanner and other than the P1349 code, there was nothin else. That code was erased and a rescan was done - all clear. Is there anything else to check/adjust as the car should do just over 30 MPG??
  17. Is the std headgasket of the 1GFE engine steel or composite?? If it is composite, can a steel one be obtained??
  18. Import Performance in America sell the turbo kit pt# L125B1-EXT or if you just want the manifold the pt# is EXMAN-LEX01. Now just to get my hands on it.
  19. Thanks steviewevie, found the diag port and got the offending reading P1349 VVTI system malfunction bank 1 But as stated above, the error had cleared itself but on checkin was stored in the ECU - cleared now :D
  20. Now I'm really confused. I always thought that the IS200 is an OBD II type car. I recieved the OBD II reader today and went to check for codes. Looked in the usual places for the diag plug but could not find it. So Looked in the engine bay and found the old type plug that Toyota uses, where you have to bridge 2 points to read the code off the flashinf ECU light. Enlighten me, what do I do?
  21. Anyone made their own manifolds, all parts are available from jgsturbo.com
  22. Stat Racing also sell a complete kit for about $3000 Kit pt# LI25b1X
