  1. Could be! Although there's another one that's even dirtier that I see parked in Waitrose each lunch... Beep at me next time - and if I beep back - it's me!
  2. You're right that's crazy prices. Walk away - just get the service and get tyres elsewhere (Gold members have access to discounts at a couple of places that will definitely get you a full set more in line with the price you paid for the S2000)
  3. Never tried one - but usually I'm wary of "combined" products. Who makes 'em?
  4. I had this prob on my IS (not a new car though) Have a look at this thread if the dealer won't help - especially Large Fat Lexus' suggestion on page 2.
  5. Yep - I'd always been told a month too - but when I asked the body shop they said only leave a week. I'm going to play it cautious though and do as you suggest - wash carefully this or next weekend and leave the products for a month. It should be shiny enough anyway when clean B)
  6. I drive from North London to Godalming and back every day - the car is minging! I'm impressed that I've resisted the urge though!
  7. Whoah there - info overload! Seriously though - thanks for that! I'll be in touch with the body shop re: product and time advice but for now have resisted temptation of washing/waxing. I think we're talking water based paint (but will check) in which case I'll leave it another week and then just use a layer of P21S carnuba. Sounds about right?
  8. Have you still got the tunes on the ipod? If so I use Ephpod to grab tunes off any ipod and put them where i want - bypassing itunes altogether. If your sister has wiped your pod - then this won't be much help - soz. But the CD burning option above should definitely work either way.
  9. You've persuaded me. Must...resist.......cleaning.......gnnnnnnngh!
  10. Yeah, you're probably right - should leave it - guess I'm just addicted to shine now It's just with all the grit on the roads at the mo. the car's dirty already And, yup, I always rinse car first and then use the "two bucket" technique (as learnt from the autopia book) - rinsing the mitt in clean water between panels.
  11. 'llo all, As some of you know, car came back from a respray last weekend. I always thought you should leave new paint 30 days before polishing/waxing, but the guys at the body shop said I need only leave it a week. I was planning on washing this weekend (with very weak Sonus mild shampoo) - and was thinking of popping on a layer of carnuba afterwards for protection/shine etc. Is this a bad idea? thanks in advance.
  12. Buffalo are good. From personal experience avoid the linksys WAG54G like the plague
  13. hi Jamboo, The jazz looks good - but I doubt your new IS will need the cleaning from the AIO. Might be worth looking into doing a few layers of the Klasse Sealant Glaze on the IS instead before applying the Carnuba? It's harder work than the AIO but the results are amazing.
  14. Hi Rodders, Not a kiwi but did a bit of googling and from what I saw NZ uses PAL-B/G UK uses PAL-I Which means that you would be able to get picture but not sound from free-to-air broadcast telly signals in NZ. From what I found that may differ depending on the telly (some more modern ones support multiple PAL's - check the manual) However, this is all just from googling so don't take my word for it. HTH
  15. Don't see why not - but give 'em a ring and check, they're very helpful.
  16. I think they look great - saw this on is300.net - aren't they the 17" from the new IS - or am i completely wrong?
  17. thanks! :D Super-chuffed - keep going out to stare at her in the car park :P
  18. Um I got mine from a Lexus dealer here in UK for the princely sum of £59 (they were clearing stock in preparation of the new model arrival) not sure if they'll ship to Mauritius or not but maybe worth a go? There's a pic of mine in my avatar if that's the one you mean? Does Mauritius have wierd bumper laws like the states? If so the UK/Japanese ones will not fit. (I ask because I think it's only called the "Elegance lip" in the states - here it's just known as the TRD front lip.) I'm sure someone will along in a mo. with more knowledge than I. HTH
  19. Yep they certainly did. And it's a short arial - looks pretty but the reception is cack (but I don't listen to radio so I'm happy). :)
  20. Ah, I see. Actually, Purvesh, I think I might have got their details from a post you made on here about a year back offering help to someone else. If it was you - cheers! :D
  21. Actually it's Minesh - but yeah he's selling his car. Great guy! Cost was 1200 but it was ALOT of work and cheaper than most of the quotes I got.
  22. Soooo: my IS has been in the body shop for the last 2 weeks, just got her back today. There was a LOT of work needed doing: the bonnet had a nasty deep scratch on it that had been sprayed VERY badly by previous owner; there were some rust spots on the roof by the windscreen; driver side front wing had had a dent on the arch that needed re-shaping and spraying; plus it needed an all-over going over due to scratches here and there from car parks etc. Also I had a TRD front lip, TTE rear lip and spoiler that needed spraying and fitting. After reading LOTS of body shop horror stories I tried to research and shop around as much as possible, but even then you can never be sure until you pick her up. Anyway - the place I went to have done an amazing job! They really understood that I wanted the job done properly and went the extra mile to ensure I got it. When I picked her up they even showed me CCTV of their workshop to show that in the end they stripped down the bonnet and both wings - and priming them twice to make sure the result was good enough. All this and a courtesy car too, and a full valet INCLUDING engine bay steam clean!!!! Oh, and I got some new number plates thrown in cos the old ones were looking manky and they even made sure it was the correct US size rear plate! I can now recomend the place to all (the owner even owns an IS so they know about them) in fact I don't think I can reccomend them highly enough! They're in West London just off the A40 and it's called Xclusive Body Works. their web page. If their page isn't working and you're interested PM me for contact details. Anyway - here's some pics which don't really do it justice and I just WISH I had some "before" pics so you could see the improvement. One very happy hando! (just the wheels to go next!)
